I think rps have moments where they're stale and fun, it just works better if you plan out a story first. Maybe one with a main bad guy, a setting/time period and various potential endings.

also, your understanding of anatomy/your skills in general may have improved, art skill level ups tend to cause difficulty with drawing. (ever notice improvements in your art after an art block?)
