The ground burst open, as wood tendril wound together in the shape of a tree, and a creature crawled out from the roots. It was a little over seven feet tall, with large ears and claws. A mask covered it's face and long for on it's shoulders, head, and torso. Vail cast a sealing spell on his home to keep it from leaving, and anyone from getting in without his permission. He then started walking into the forest to just explore.
Bookie sat next to a tree thinking, and thinking. //How am I going to tell Jason? He will freak out!// They thought to themselves. Their ears twitched thinking the ground rumbled. (uugu day or night?)
Vaio took his time wandering about, collecting samples of leaves and what seeds he could grab and placing them in small glass bottles, and then placing the bottles in a small leather satchel he pulled and made disappear into what seemed like thin air. He had a curious air, occasionally attracting an animal here and there. He really was looking for civilization, but he kept getting distracted.
Bookie felt tired, guilty and sick. They backed up to the tree more to try and get away from the sun. Bookie hated three things in this world, heat was one of them. But eventually they got up and walked towards more of the forest, or just walking wherever they feel like going.
Vail swivelwd his ear, finally finding the moment to listen for non-four legged footsteps. He straightened when he did hear something. "Hello? I am in the hope that I am not talking to myself, or that would else be a little strange." He called out in a very british accent, hoping someone would answer.
"...Well it didn't." Bookie stopped walking. //Keep going Claw! That other vessel might be lost...// A soul spoke. Bookie whispered. "Yeah?... Why should I find them?.. I don't know who they are..." //You dont act so hesitated toward other demons in Hell...// The soul argued. "Yeah, well, probably because Im used to them... Take Mud for example, he's a weirdo but a good friend." //What if this person can be the same?// "I highly doubt it at the moment..." Bookie whispered more. But stopped.
Vail came around a tree and saw the creature he'd been conversing with. It had been a good thing he had practiced stepping quietly recently, whish he hadn't needed the practice for but figured it'd be good after so long. "Ah, lovely to meet see you. The name of Vail belongs to me." He said with a small bow.
(Bookie is 4ft (5'1) their demon-angel form is 8ft (10'7)
Bookie looked at the purple being with the mask. //A bow!! Maybe he did that in sighg of your crown! I mean you do have a leadership role thing.// Some souls complimented Vail. "Um... You too?.." Bookie said too nervous to ask about Vail's mask. //I do say do myself! He looks like a nice guy! But whats behinf that mask of his?// The souls full of curiousity. "You aren't serial are you?" Bookie asked dully. //Really Claw? thats rude...//
"Serial? Whatever do you mean?" He tilted his head and kept his tail still, aware that his stature tened to scare. He purposely let a purple roll throughout his body in curiosity for the fun of it. It held up his intrigue.
"Nevermind..." Bookie looked away. //You are seriously rude Claw.// "Sure whatever..." Bookie whispered for a moment. //Atleast ask if he is lost or something!// "...Are you lost?" Bookie asked annoyed, but tried to censor his annoyence from the soul by regaining eye contact with Vail.
"Hmm," He hummed. He stood up straight. "Well, technically no..." He replied. He was completely aware of where his home was. But he still wanted to explore. "But exploring this place, is something I am very interested in." Place was the best word as world would've probably given away something suspicious.
"Oh..." Bookie slouched and stepped away from Vail. //Good call.// A soul commented. "This is a killer heat to me, Im sorry." Bookie fluttered their wings to give themselves some air. //Stay cool so you dont shift, we dont want to scare our new friend.//
(inneed it shall be, but im gonna loose, i never win at monopoly unless you wanna count the switch's version XD)
"Nice offer and all, but you're gonna invite a total stranger to your home? We havent even gotten to know our names." Bookie pointed out. //COME ON MAN JUST ACCEPT THE OFFER!// Some souls complained. Bookie ignored them. "I mean, I guess I'll come along, but not..." They paused to take a breath. "Not until we properly introduce ourselves please..." They flaped their wings a little more.
Bookie smiled a bit. "I am BookieJr, but Bookie is fine." Their smile went away as they felt their spine prick out a bit. Panicked, they flapped faster. "Sorry for the rush, I just need to get out the sun please.." //Where did he get that hat?// //Heck I know man// //Uhhh what in-//
"Follow." He only said, darting off into the forest, leading Bookie back to his home. "Do not worry about breaking anything, I have powerful enchantments cast. Also, ignore the lady ghost." He said. There was no door, but he gestured to the roots, moving aside a rock, and stepping into the hole, seemingly getting smaller.
He opened the door that wasn't visible before and ducked inside. If Bookie looked back now the forest would seem like a wooden city, with trunks stretching high into the sky.
Bookie didn't look back, they were too distracted from regaining coolness. They ducked as well, following Vail. //Cool!! This guy can get magic hats, AND invisbile doors!// //Im not too sure that--//
"Tea? Anything hospitable to provide more comfort for you I can get?" He asked. The inside was a heck of a lot larger than the outside. It was a house inside, and the room had a few couches to the left and a kitchen further back, to which Vail was heading towards.
They looked around the house in such suprise. //Is this an underground mansion?// //This is so cool!!// "Erm... Tea-- any tea, would be fine..." They said not moving to sit down on the couch until Vail said it was oksy to sit. //Come on Claw! Dont be shy.// "Its harder than you think it is..." Bookie whispered. //Yeah but youre anxiety and nervousness is making you say that.// "..."
"Please, feel free to sit while tea is made." He said to Bookie. He set up the tea and let the water heat up. "While you're here, is there any form you prefer me to speak to you in? Many, by my appearance, are unsettled."
