Monger while I've already stated is a dragon and hails the literal form of one, he's not quite just that. Monger as well some other animal characters of mine are spirits. ( The nonsense ,otherwise known as #everythingandnothing, magpies, ravens, and Harvest, to name a few)
There's a sort of hierarchy or ranking in how powerful these spirits are, for the most part at least. Major, minor, and Great spirits (obvious workings on titles lol.) Great spirits recieve several of their own titles, and are something you don't generally want to be seeking out as they can be very dangerous and unpredictable. Infact spirits in general have a bad rap towards humans, though it's the opposite for races of magic.
Anyway the whole spirit stuff is another thing entirely and is something I possibly need to work on in a separate writing piece.

Back to Monger! He's the Great spirit of the western desert, though most people wouldn't call him a great spirit, 'demon' is more like it. He oftened referred to as the western worm, devil's whip, phantom's scythe, just to name a few. At one point in time there was no monster roaming the desert. Infact it seems that Monger was actually summoned there by someone during a time of war in hopes to tip the scales. Well maybe it was just to see people suffer. The theory is that a rattlesnake was used as a vessel for a spirit, and that the only way for him to maintain his form and size is to devour people.

He does seem to carry several characteristics of a rattlesnake, from his colors-scheme, fangs and venom. Those who were fortunate enough to survive an encounter from him say they've even heard a rattle. If you hear the sound of maracas you should hide, not run, hide.

Monger is swift on the desert floor, despite his large size. His bite is lightning fast and his venom is excruciatingly painful. That being said extreme temperatures can get to him and slow him down. He is infact cold-blooded after all.

Overall he's not a guy you'd ever want to run into, infact you might want even avoid the western desert entirely, it's full of magic, traveling in it even for a day will cause one to hallucinate and go mad. Humans would eventually get sick in the magic-filled atmosphere, as if the heat wasn't enough. Though out of the whole desert Monger has been spotted the most in Fang's ravine, and devil's keep, (I should really make a map rip). There are a few villages and cities on the edges of the wasteland, the ones deeper in the desert are more sparse and obviously are targeted by him the most.
Some of the locals have tried rituals in hopes to keep him away but it only results in him crashing in and eating everyone on site.

A few otherthings to note about him:
-The red markings on his body are made of the blood of his victims.
-While animal-like and savage in nature, he's not completely dumb, especially at hunting. Though he does chase his own tail sometimes.
-While I have drawn him a few times riding a bicycle, as an obvious joke, he does like to hoard things, so it wouldn't be too far-fetched if he actually had a bicycle.
