i want some constructive criticism/general tips to help me improve my art more.
last time i tried to get critique on here i either got joke comments, people not knowing what i should improve on, or nothing at all. so please try to be helpful.
if you do critique something, such as bad hands or smth, please tell me how to improve rather than just saying "your hands suck".
(i'll reply to whatever's commented on this post in this same post's comments)
The Colors! Gallery moderators will look at it as soon as possible.

(UH OH TEXT WALL)
alright, uh, ill try to give you some constructive criticism i guess- im not too good with this but ill try lol. (i kinda have a harder time than i used to with doing this cause my personal take on stuff really... bleeds through? and i dont want to rub anybody the wrong way)
first up, what aspect of your art do you want to improve most/are you least satisfied with? anatomy, coloring & shading, composition (overall structure of "full blown illustration" pics with backgrounds & whatnot), perspective, dynamism (that word messes with me lol im an idiot), so on so forth?

@krazy katt
pretty much everything you mentioned except coloring and shading
i think my anatomy's fine as is for my style, but i am trash at more realistic anatomy, i've tried before
and i feel like a lot of my poses are stale/kinda stiff but idk what to really do to fix them
so
@online comment
i cant see what you're saying rn rip

oh, uh idk
I rather like your art style but I guess i'll try
uhhhhhh
try out with other anatomy styles I guess? If you get better at realistic anatomy you'd probably get even better at cartoony anatomy

Draw your characters full body and not just from the waist up.
The positions might feel stiff because a lot of your poses are very straight. Having tilts in the body position based on how the character is standing/sitting/lying can help poses look more organic.
now i'm not entirely sure on this, but i thing a lot depends on where your shifting your weight. take this drawing for example,(to me at least) you look like you are standing in a pretty natural way, this because your lower body is shifted forward a bit.
i'm just gonna stop talking here cause i feel like i don't know what i'm talking about. Hopefully Krazy katt will give you some better advice.
All i really know how to is look up refrences and practice, which, by the way, is something you should also probably do.

realistic anatomy is something that's pretty hard, it takes knowledge in all kinds of stuff (it takes pretty much everything i listed in my 1st comment) to do decent realism, so dont feel bad about sucking at it lol
if going all out on trying realism trips you up hard, try drawing things slightly more realistic with every (or every other) drawing, take baby steps basically.
(i do this and it shows in my work)
and while you do that, look up advice/tutorials of all kinds on dA when you get the chance. learning other artists' techniques and approaches on how to do stuff can broaden your own approach on how /you/ do things, and trying new things can only do good for your art.
dA stuff can give you insight on ^ that ^ and for fundamentals too, like perspective (I point, 2 point, etc)
and while yes, you /will/ suck when you first try doing the stuff you see on dA (or, really, the net in general. i just prefer dA over other places)
wooo im outta space *sarcasm*

as a raving polygon fanatic with overwhelming artistic OCD, i'd say to just more clearly define your outlines, shapes, patterns & ect., and you'll be a-ok (in my eyes at least)

hey if we're talking about anatomy, doing poses in the mirror usually works for me, so maybe that might help you too
but y'know, reading tutorials from actual professionals might be a more productive strategy now that i think about it lol

--youll get better at doing things the more you practice & continually research to strengthen your understanding of it. (this goes for /everything/ in art btw! or, atleast, it's my approach lol)
seeing invalidation's comment reminded me about poses: balance, center of gravity, etc, those affect poses. like if someone has all their weight on one foot, it causes the body to shift, the weight bearing leg gets brought under the body more to maintain balance.
@lady-ama posted some good human tutorial/advice things on here, her post goes more in depth on this stuff than i can.
bghhhh there's so much stuff and i cant articulate my comments well enough to tell you [the stuff] in a comprehensive way.
(oh yeah and you can just refer to me as "katt" all the time if you want- & that goes for everybody lol)

*looks at lady-ama's posts*
ah, she didnt put a special tag on em... only #tutorial & #anatomy. well that takes some convenience out of getting to the posts.
