You wanted something Koi Fish inspired & with a Japanese theme..

So here's the first design.

Body of based of a feline, with dragon forepaws. Koi fish patterns and japanese cherry blossom horns, branches, antlers and petals.

Fur on the neck, belly, forearms and bottom of tail. Fish scales for the rest.
