I would say wet fur isn't as fluffy as it is dry, due to the water weighing it down and sticking it to the body shape of the creature. It also seems to look darker and is more likely to be shiny.

I think the fur still looks fine! Though DG has a good point. I've actually never drawn water on fur or scales so I can't suggest anything practical. XD
Maybe try making the streaks slightly darker than the body color, and give the body some highlights?
