At that moment, Crowley came staggering back into the temple, upright but looking rather pale and unsteady. 'I'm never drinking that much again,' he mumbled, slumping back into his chair and pushing the beer crate away with his foot.

"Learned yer lesson, have ya?" {Vitis laughs.} "It's ok. Just sit for a bit, you'll feel better."

'Sure I will,' said Crowley sarcastically. He sat there looking pathetic with his head in his hands. 'Tell me about something cool you've done before. Like an awesome robbery or something. Distract me.'

{As Ango's group were talking about leaving, something stirred in the dark corner of the room. Out from the darkness scuttled the Abomination of Limbs and Teeth. Moving like a roach, it stopped in the middle of the room, its razor sharp maw, clicking and grumbling as it inspected the people in the room.}

Sheldon drew to a halt beside the great oak tree, panting a little but grinning toothily. He realised that for the first time, he was enjoying being a werewolf. It was so much fun to be able to turn himself into this big, powerful animal and know he had the strength to protect himself and Tochi.

Jed was the first to notice the Abomination and his red eyes widened in horror. He flattened his ears back against his head and began to growl, as if warning the creature not to come any closer.

Tochi slid off Sheldon's back. "We should do this more often!" she grinned excitedly, patting the werewolf's head. She wasn't sure whether to talk to him like normal or more like she would talk to a dog. She wondered exactly what he thought about when he was in this form.

{The abomination growed back at Jed, gnashing its teeth at him. Slowly, it begins to inspect each person in the room. It looks to Ango and Emilia, seemingly knowing they were human. After a brief moment of deliberation, it leaves them alone. Then, it gets to Keenan. Sensing Brink in him, it snarls and begins to threateningly approach.}

Sheldon looked at Tochi for a moment, then blinked and suddenly returned to his normal form.

'Woah... that was pretty fun,' he said in surprise, glancing over his shoulder at the stretch of woods he'd just sprinted across.

{Vitis looked at Crowley, a little worried.} "Ok, Umm, let me think of a good one..."

Thorn watched silently as the Abomination took interest in Keenan. Her tail slowly swished from side to side as she unsheathed her claws, ready to defend him if she needed to.

Jed plopped the fish down in front of him and made a small whimpery barking noise.

'Don't tell me, you've never done anything cool,' said Crowley in a mocking tone. 'OK, let me start. I once stole some jewelry from some guy's house, and he came after me with a gun, and I had to jump out of a three-storey window to escape, AND I wasn't even in dragon form.'

{Vitis laughs.} "Wow, ok. That must have hurt. But I got a better one. One time, I was up in the mountains, y'know, where all those dragons live, and I snuck into one of their dens, and stole his favorite treasure. A big, jewel encrusted egg, made of gold and stuff. He came in as I was walking out, and well... He wasn't too happy."

Toby growls low, watching the creature with narrowed eyes.
Ango freezes in place, raising an arm to protect her mum, who once again didn't seem to be comprehending what was happening.
Keenan raises his hands in front of him as he steps back, electricity crackling a little in his hands. He tries to figure out why it was only interested in him, then it clicks - the was the only one truly associated with Dark Brink in the room. Swearing softly, he prepares to either fight or run, whatever came first.

'Aha!' Crowley rubbed his hands together with glee. 'Tell me the details! Did you nearly die?'

"Yes, it was fun, wasn't it," Tochi agreed. "Is there anything else we should do out here? Or are we heading home?"

'Uhm... can we maybe go back to that little wooden bridge?' Sheldon suggested, fidgeting a little as if he were nervous about something. 'We could, I don't know, maybe chat for a bit before we go home...'

"Dianne, I know I'm asking too much of you at this point but I need you to call off your creatures. One nearly killed me while getting here and I fear that others may be tracking down and preparing to attack innocent people."
Mortikai explains, at this stage not really expecting her to agree. He sighs.
"Look, I know it won't mean much to you but I'll owe you. I'll owe you anything. Just- please. Don't let them die."

(Long live the king--)

{The Abomination creeps closer to Keenan, snarling and snapping at him. Finally, it opens its maw wide, revealing all manner of jagged teeth, and lunges at Keenan.}

{Dianne, still steaming, approaches Mortikai.} "These people you want me to spare. Who are they?"

{Virtis laughs.} "Yeah, almost. I had to run through the rocks and trees to avoid getting cooked, then I lost him by jumping off a waterfall."

Crowley snorted. 'Why didn't you just turn into your freaking giant serpent form and tear him to pieces?'

"Because the son of a bit.ch was a forty-footer, that's why!" {Vitis laughs maniacally.} "Even you couldn't have beaten that!"

'Well, I wouldn't have run away. Forty feet? I bet he was really slow and clumsy, being that big. I could've flown rings around his head and ripped his eyes out.'

"Pssshhh! Yeah, right. He would have splattered you. He was a rock drake! Your puny attacks wouldn't have scratched him!"

"Sure we can," replied Tochi cheerfully. She noticed him seeming somewhat anxious, but she didn't ask about it. He'd probably tell her by himself at the bridge.

Yelping, Keenan dives out of the way, shifting into his lion form for easier mobility.
"It's only attacking me! You lot, run, quick!"

"The first is a young boy, Keenan. He is one of Brink's, like me, however he isn't as ready to kill as most. I tasked him with protecting the others I fear may be attacked, the two I have recently discovered- well, rediscovered...to be my wife and daughter."
He pulls back his sleeve to reveal the mark of the spirit on his wrist.
"I'm sure you know what happens with the children born from proxies like me. Judging from the one that attacked me, I fear Keenan and my daughter will be attacked and slaughtered."
He attempts to keep a calm air to his voice, but it was obvious that he was worried. He didn't want to loose them again.

They walked to the bridge together. Once there were there, Sheldon leaned over the railing to watch the minnows and other tiny fish darting past. It was quite a beautiful sight.

'Hmm...' He seemed to be working up the courage to say something. 'Tochi, um... do you ever wonder how things would be now if we'd never met? I don't like to think about it too much. I'm really glad we're friends...'

Crowley knew he was probably right, but he didn't want to admit that. 'OK, whatever. So, have you got any other cool stories?'

{Dianne's expression hardened.} "Show me. Take me to them. I doubt the girl will be harmed, as she hasn't actually becomed too associated with Brink yet, but the boy...I make no promises."

(Lol, Dianne's just talking to Morty while Mia's all like:
"My everything hurts and that mean woman killed my robots."
XD)

(She's just passed out in the corner quietly sobbing in her sleep XD
Morty cares more about other people DB'll probably come along at some point and tell her to yeet herself at Pythia)

Jed took Keenan's advice and picked up the fish, turning to hurry away. He nudged Toby and then Ango, telling them to follow.

Thorn however, stayed on the chair. "I'm not running away from a good fight! Unless you and this... thing... are planning on having some private conversation, I see no reason to leave."

"Hmmm." {Vitis takes a moment to think.} "So many stories, but which to use.}

"I don't know, Sheldon... maybe I would've died back in Shacklestone without your help," the said quietly and thoughtfully. "Maybe I'd still be hanging out with my old friend Barry." she then smiled in slight amusement and added, "I like you better than him, though."

'Oh, I've got one!' Crowley exclaimed. 'A couple of years ago, I kept on committing crimes in front of those human policemen guys. They kept arresting me, but they didn't know I could teleport, so I always got out of jail, and they couldn't understand it. I got arrested four times in one night, it was freaking hilarious.'

Nodding, he looks away.
"I told them to head for the city gates, though I doubt they've been able to get there yet. They shouldn't be too far."
Shifting into his feline form, he scales the building he had jumped from and, with a glance at Mia, deciding that she would be fine, starts to lead Dianne off.

'W-well... that's good,' said Sheldon, squashing the tiny flare of jealousy he felt when she mentioned Barry's name. 'I probably would have died, too. We've helped each other, right?' He watched a minnow darting up to the surface to look at him, then said quietly, without looking at her, 'I-I really like you, you know. You're a great friend.'

(Tochi is an object, not a person)

"Your funeral."
Keenan says in a humorous tone, leaping out of the thing's reach.
Nodding, Ango takes her mum's hand and leads her out, looking behind to make sure Jed and Toby were following.
Toby pauses for a moment, making sure everyone else was ahead of him before following them out.

{As Ango tried to leave, a centaur steps in front of her, snarling, trying to determine if she's an enemy.}

{Dianne follows Morty closely, keeping up with him easily.}

{The abomination continues to pursue Keenan relentlessly, trying to take a bite out of him.}

"Yeah, right," Thorn rolled her eyes. "I've already attended my own funeral. Surely there can't be another death after death." She slithered down from the chair.

Tochi hummed quietly. "I like you too. I'm happy to have a friend like you. You need help believing in yourself sometimes, but you can be amazing when you need to be, and you're always nice to talk to."

'I-I think the same things about you. You're always so nice, and patient, and helpful, and... Tochi, I-I think I might have feelings for you.' He said the last part in a hushed tone, sounding almost horrified.

{Vitis laughs.} "Those idiots! They should really pay better attention! Actually, they can't, y'know, now that they're dead."

(Lol can't think of a story for Vitis.)

(A - Vitis hasn't done as much weird stuff as Crowley, probably. XD)

'Yep, everyone's dead. Well, SOME of them might have escaped, but I think most of them are dead.' Crowley yawned. 'I feel better now, thank Brink.'

{Vitis blinks a few times.} "Thank Brink? Wut?"

Crowley rolled his eyes. 'Y'know, like 'thank God' but it's 'thank Brink' because Dark Brink is cooler than any god, if any gods actually exist. Not that I LIKE Dark Brink, but I still think he's pretty awesomely evil.'

Tochi didn't immediately respond, searching Sheldon's expression for any sign of humour, but she found nothing.

"Sheldon..." she began slowly. "I'm very happy to hear that. I think I feel the same way." she sounded a little nervous, which was unusual, but she was smiling fondly at him.

Sheldon looked like he'd been holding his breath waiting for her to say she didn't feel the same way, and when she spoke, he looked momentarily dumbstruck.
'You...' He shook his head and blinked a few times. 'Do you really? ...I didn't want to say it because we've always been such great friends and I was worried you might think I'm weird and it would ruin everything...'

(Toyhouse is pretty fun, but it can be hard to get an account there, since you need an invite code from someone who's already a member. It took me a while to get one.)

(Odd. I assume the site started with just the admin and a handful of their friends. I wonder how it grew at all. How did you get a code?)

(I was lucky enough find someone on Deviantart who was selling codes for small amounts of money or other things. Only Toyhouse's premium members get codes to give to others, so not all the members have them. I'm not a premium member, so I can't give codes to other people.)

(Huh. Sounds hella corrupt imo. Are premium members supposed to sell off the codes?)

(It's not actually against the site rules, but they do warn you against buying codes from people, since the codes aren't really worth anything.

Unfortunately, most members can't resist the opportunity to earn some money off of their codes, so it's kinda hard to get one any other way.)

(And how does one become a 'premium member'?)

(It's basically the paid membership. You can be a member for free, but if you pay for a premium membership you get extra features and invite codes to give to others. I'm not an expert on it, I've always been a basic member. XD)

(But, you can only be a basic member if someone invites you? Quite the odd system.)

(It's pretty odd. The site's been around for three years, so it's surprising that they haven't upgraded to a normal signup system by now.)

(They must consider themselves a cut above your average deviantart member, to make themselves so exclusive. Well, if that's what they want, far be it from us to tell them otherwise.)
