i just typed out a comment in response to your question on the newest wip on my alt (the Q about ponies & horses) and i apparently got logged out while typing
okay ill try again. hmmmm lemme remember what i typed:
"yeah there actually is a difference between horses & ponies, it's one of proportions :P
ill quote a book of mine here cause it's 3 in the morning (and because i suck at explaining & describing things) :
"Pony proportions are unique. The body length exceeds the height at the withers, and its depth equals the leg length. The length of the head equals the shoulder length, and the latter equals the back measurement."
basically, their legs are shorter in relation to their body.
but yeah, people generally think of ponies as mini horses even though theyre a little different from horses.
though there is a mini horse that's a real /horse/ with horse proportions, it's an ancient breed called the caspian. it's got some unique features that other horse breeds dont have o3o
^ and there are also the heavy/draft horses that are generally huge and have really STRONK proportions. (especially the "coldblood" horses)
ive never googled it (ive got a horse book that's loaded with info so ive no real need to google) so im not sure what comes up when you google, but googling something like "what's the difference between hotblood, warmblood and coldblood horses" might bring some neat info up for you to take in if you dont know much about horses. :^)
