Sheldon was standing on a narrow wooden bridge crossing a stream, peering down curiously as a few tiny fish darted through the water. In one hand he held an ice cream cone, which he'd gotten from the ice cream truck parked a little way across town. He liked it here. It felt safe - peaceful. Maybe he and Tochi and her grandparents could stay here, even after the war was over...

(All I know is that Mia, her robots, and Crowley had just come across Dianne and Magnus and Crowley was being his usual idiot self and insulting them. I don't remember who did the last response for that group. XD)

Tochi slowly walked across the bridge behind him, holding her own ice cream, a mint chocolate cone. "Minnows," she commented, her eyes following a large group of the tiny fish. "I had some as pets when I was younger."

Sheldon jumped a little, having not noticed her approach, 'Oh... That's pretty nice. Me and my family never had any pet fish. I like watching them, though.' He slowly ate some of the ice cream, keeping his gaze on the minnows.

"Maybe if we get to settle down here, we can come down here someday and catch some," she suggested. "And try to find some other river fish too."

Caroline and Henry, meanwhile, were enjoying some coffee and biscuits in a nearby coffee shop.

Sheldon hummed in agreement. 'I've seen some really big orange fish in here, too. But I think they all swam away now.' He leaned over the bridge railing, trying to get a closer look at the water. After a moment, he took the last piece of cone from his ice cream, crumbled it into pieces, and threw it down into the stream. A couple of minnows darted up to the surface to investigate the food.

Tochi did the same, then took a tissue from her pocket and wiped some drips of melted ice cream from her fingers. More minnows were gathering around the floating cone pieces. A pigeon landed on a nearby branch and looked down at the pieces, seeming disappointed that it couldn't reach the food.

The silence stretched out between them for a little while, before Sheldon spoke up, his voice quiet and uncertain. 'I haven't thought about how - how I'm a werewolf lately,' he said. 'I haven't even tried transforming since that time back in Riverside. I've been trying to decide if... if I should try again. After all, if something bad happens here, I should be able to fight...'

"Maybe that would be a good idea," she said. "Trying to transform again, I mean. I really hope this place won't be invaded like everywhere else was, but... it's better to be safe than sorry. I think..." she looked out over the stream thoughtfully. "I might start trying to use a weapon of some sort. Just so I can defend myself too. I've never really fought before."

His eyes flickered in Tochi's direction, seeming a little surprised.

'Really? What kind of weapon would you use? I think... I've mostly seen people use knives or guns, but I'm sure there must be other things...' He grimaced slightly at the thought of Tochi using a weapon. It just didn't seem to fit her. But then, fighting didn't suit him, either.

Keenan awakes in the partially destroyed house the group had taken shelter in, laying in his lion form so sleeping on the floor wasn't too uncomfortable. He opens his jaws wide in a yawn, getting up and shifting back into his human form. Looking around at the rest of the group, he spots Ango on an armchair, remembering the injury she sustained to her arm from the fight in the orphanage. He taps on her shoulder to get her to wake up.
"Hey, kid. Wake up. Your arm needs bandaging."
She grumbles softly, turning over and almost glaring at Keenan for waking her up, then shifts, looking down at her left sleeve and cringing at the amount of dried blood that had soaked into it.
"...I can do it myself. The water's probably still on in this place..."

"Hey, I'm the one with the bandages. I can help."

"No."
She says with some hostility, holding her left arm protectively, holding her right hand around her wrist. She winces as she realises she said that a little too loudly, surely waking someone else up.

"Hey! It is not a trashcan! Like you have any taste, you frickin' corpse!"
A small fireball forms in her left hand while sparks fly from her right, a grin on her face.
"Hey Crowley, let's mess these two up. They'll be a better fight than some stupid humans."

Crowley grinned and nodded enthusiastically, pulling out a serrated dagger and tossing his scarf over his shoulder to keep it out of the way. 'Yeah, let's get the blood flowing around here.'

{With an annoyed growl, Dianne stands up.}
Dianne: "Fine. If you're both so eager to die, far be it from me to deny that to you."
{Magnus draws his greatsword and stands next to Dianne.}
Magnus: "Hey now, you kids might want to reconsider this. You're way out of your league."

Mia directs Claw to lift it's arms in a specific away, swinging up to stand on it's shoulders in one fluid movement, her grin never fading.
"You think we're afraid of you? Hah! You don't even know what we can do!"
She glances over the both of them, eyes lighting up as she sees Magnus' greatsword. Metal, probably. Perfect.

i guess people like seeing their reaction.

'You're right...' Sheldon glanced at the other side of the bridge, where there was a bit of quiet woodland. 'Why don't we go for a walk in there?' he suggested. 'I can maybe try transforming again... and we could talk about other stuff.'

"Let him help, Ango," Thorn called. She was peering through a hole in the ceiling. It wasn't clear how she got up there, but it didn't really matter. "He's got the bandages and I'm sure he knows what he's doing. Go on, kid, you're in pain."

While Mia taunted Magnus, Crowley decided to annoy them even more. He teleported up onto the roof where they were standing, appearing a short distance behind Magnus, picking up a rock off the ground, and throwing it at him.

Crowley snickered, keeping a few feet away on the roof, twirling his dagger. 'Pretty impressive, right? I bet neither of YOU have a power like that.' He glanced over at Mia and her robot. 'Hey, wanna show us what you can do?'

Tochi nodded. "Let's do that."
She left the fish behind and walked to the other end of the bridge. It was a beautiful day to be exploring the woods- and transforming into wolves, of course.

{Dianne basically ignored Crowley completely, turning her attention to Mia.} Dianne: "Pick one."
Magnus: "The birdie."
{Without another word, Dianne jumped down to face Mia and her bot while Magnus stared down Crowley.}

As they walked further into the trees, Sheldon didn't try to shapeshift as expected. Instead, he eyed the forest floor, then stooped to pick up two long, relatively straight sticks. He gave one to Tochi.

'Here... we can practise a little? You could pretend I'm an evil non-human and try to fight me.'

Crowley looked a little put out when Dianne left to face Mia instead of him, but quickly recovered and turned his full attention to Magnus. 'Hey, when is everyone going to stop giving me stupid bird nicknames?' he complained. 'I'm not REALLY a bird. And like you're any better than me, you ugly rotting thing.'

They both stare up at her, Keenan's face screwed up in confusion before shaking his head slightly and looking back at Ango.
"Come on. You need to clean it so it won't get gammy and infected."
Begrudgingly, she gets up, waking Toby up in the process. He boofs quietly, sitting up a little, but Ango puts her hand up to stop him from following. He shuffles slightly, then goes off to find Jed.
Once Keenan and Ango get to the kitchen, the lion shifter tests the taps, glad to find that there was still running water. Ango pauses for a few moments, then speaks up.
"Keenan...I need to know I can trust you, and that you're not gonna freak out."
"Uh...I really hope you're not gonna show me something really freaky, like, you're gonna cut off your arm and then regrow it."
"What?! No!"

Jed was snoozing on a worn beanbab. He awoke as Toby approached and softly borked a greeting. He still had his cuddly fish laying in the beanbag with him.

Thorn dropped through the ceiling hole onto the floor and hopped onto the armchair with a small meow.

Tochi nodded, gripping her stick. "I'll try." She made a quick move towards Sheldon, hoping to lightly hit his arm.

Sheldon evaded her lunge more by stumbling on a tree-root than by actually dodging it, but quickly regained his composure and retaliated with a wide swing, aiming his stick in a horizontal slash towards her shoulder.

Mia frowns slightly at the opponent choice.
"Aww, I was hoping to face off against the meatsack. I had a really neat trick I could pull with him. Anyways, I think I can deal with you pretty easily."
She pulls some knives from her belt, her face twisting back into a grin.
"You're the one who killed Ana, right? She's not /that/ powerful you know. So you can't be either!"
With that she throws the knives towards Dianne in quick succession, near enough on target.

Tochi hit his stick with her own to deflect the attack, then stepped back, possibly to wait for him to make the next move.

Toby's tail wags a little, sitting next to the beanbag and gently pawing at him, glad to see his friend is okay.

"Okay, so, what is it then?
"Look, just-"
Grimacing, she carefully peels back her sleeve and starts to wash all the blood off, biting her lip to avoid whimpering at the pain of the hot water against her wounds. She gently shakes the water off, holding her limb slightly.
"Before, I saw you with your eyepatch switched. You've got a weird eye, haven't you? Black and white, like...Dark Brink."
A shiver runs down Keenan's spine.
"How'd...How'd you know that?"
"My mum had this really old book that had a bunch of stuff about Dark Brink and the Sanctuary and stuff, she thought it had something to do with my dad's disappearance cus he had a weird tattoo that looked like it's symbol. And...that weird tattoo..."
She turns her left wrist around, showing the faded dark mark of Dark Brink on her wrist.
"...showed up on me when I was about six. After he went missing."
Keenan seems dumbfounded, trying to find words but unable to find any. Eventually, he stumbles to a conclusion.
"Holy crap. There's only one person under Dark Brink with that mark - weird, but true. You...you're Mortikai's kid."

Sheldon waited politely for a moment, then when he realised she wasn't going to do anything, he lunged forwards in a fast jumping movement. His stick hit Tochi's, and with the two sticks pressed together, he started trying to push her backwards.

Tochi pushed back as hard as she could, but she felt herself being shoved slowly along. Quickly, she took her stick off his and aimed a blow at his leg.

Jed snuffled around the old beanbag as Toby pawed him, making a small disgusted noise when he discovered a smelly yellow stain on it. He climbed off of the bag, picking up his fish friend as he did.

Sheldon tried to jump back, but her stick landed a light blow on his leg, nearly tripping him again. Before she could make another attack, he retreated backwards across the clearing, then halted, eyeing her from several feet away. He was obviously waiting for her to get the first move this time.

Tochi circled him for a few seconds, trying to find a good angle to attack from, then took several steps towards him and swung her stick at him.

Sheldon's eyes went slightly wide as he quickly stepped back, raising his stick to deflect her blow. It was forceful enough that his 'weapon' almost got knocked out of his hand, but he just managed to cling onto it. He then gripped onto it with both hands and swung it like a mace, catching the edge of Tochi's stick and pushing back again.

Tochi wasn't so lucky this time and her foot slipped in the grass, causing her to stumble. She backed off a little as she regained her balance.

Sheldon remained where he was instead of pursuing her, keeping his stick raised in case of a sudden attack. He seemed rather surprised at managing to gain the upper hand. 'You had enough?' he called out with a slight grin on his face - almost teasing, or as close to teasing as Sheldon could ever get.

(Draco - i just went in the other room and father was asleep on top of the tv remote changing the channels repeatedly)

Scrambling to his feet, Toby bounces to Jed's side, tail wagging again and eyes focused on the fish friend.

The two teens stare at each other for a short time before Ango speaks.
"...I knew it."
Her uninjured hand balls up into a fist.
"All this time, he was so close and only /now/ he remembers?!...I would say that he's worse than my stepdad but...that's not true. He's still bad for leaving us though."
"Hey hey hey, cool it. I don't think he really had a choice. Being the right hand man he has to be called back some time, right? And at least he's trying to make it up to you now. I'd bet he's coming to find you right now!"
Keenan says with a smile, taking the bandages he had kept rolled up in his pocket since they had been to the hospital.
"Now c'mon, gimme your arm."
Reluctantly, Ango pulls her sleeve back a little more as she painfully stretches her arm out, letting him dress the wound.

Sheldon spun around to keep her in view when she moved. He edged closer and then suddenly bounded forwards, aiming a low swing at her ankle as if to trip her.

{Dianne begins a rapid sprint at Mia, drawing her shortsword and deflecting her knives. After they were gone, she re-sheathed it, and kept running for Mia, covering an alarming amount of ground in a short time.}

{Magnus just gives Crowley a tired look.} "You can't be serious. Your name is CROW-ley, how can people /not/ think of you as a bird?"

'Well, yeah, but I've always been called that! Can't people get over it already?' Looking exasperated, Crowley started to edge around to the side, circling Magnus, keeping his dagger slightly raised.

{Magnus chuckles.} "No. I will continue to refer to you as a birb boi, because it's fun. And you can't stop meeeee!" {That last sentence was spoken in Crowley's own taunting voice.}

Crowley blinked at the imitation, then narrowed his eyes threateningly. 'Oh yeah? You're nothing but a piece of rotting flesh. I bet you're not THAT good at fighting.' With that, he dived forwards, aiming a dagger slash at Magnus's face. He moved very fast.

{Magnus let Crowley land his blow, slicing his face and exposing the skull. However, as Crowley was in this slashing position, where he could not escape, Magnus swung his mighty blade upward, cutting through the shifter, nearly hewing him in half.}

(Jeez, don't kill him. XD)

Crowley let out a cackle of triumph when his blow landed, followed by a stream of shouted swear words when he felt Magnus's blade connect. 'SHHHHIIIIIT I NEED HEALING!' he yelled at the top of his lungs, staggering backwards before immediately teleporting off somewhere.

(Gotta go now! Will see you all again next week or whenever.)

{Magnus laughs heartily as he watches Crowley freak out and teleport away.} "'You're nothing but a piece of rotting flesh. I bet you're not THAT good at fighting.' My a.ss. I used to kick the cr.ap out of Akhetians, what are you gonna do?" {With that, he turns to watch Dianne fight.}

After teleporting, Crowley rematerialised just outside Pythia'a temple. He staggered up to the front door and slammed his fist against it. 'Hey! Healer person whose name I don't remember! Open the door, I need healing!'

Mia's face screws up in frustration as she hears Crowley back out of the fight, directing Five to run in front of Dianne to trip her up. She curls a fireball in her hand, throwing it at her face to stop her from being able to see and dodge Five in time.

{Pythia sighs and approaches the door, knowing exactly who it was knocking. Walking up to the door, she opens it.} "Crowley, it's not even noon. How could you possibly-Oh my god!" {She exclaims upon seeing Crowley's condition.} "What happened? We're you playing with a table saw?"

Dianne saw Mia's attacks coming from a mile away. She deftly ducked under her fireball. As Five approached, Dianne sprints towards it, and kicks it though the air, leaving a large dent in it, and causing it to fly and bounce off of Claw's head.}

'Uhh, nooo,' said Crowley. 'I was fighting with one of those draugr things. I was winning, but then he got lucky and hit me while I wasn't looking.'

Her eyes widen when she realises what a big mistake she made by underestimating her opponent. With her still being on Claw's shoulders, when Five hits them they become unbalanced and fall. Mia manages to clumsily jump and roll to safety, while her robots hit the ground with a crash. With it's hull being damaged, Five couldn't move but was still able to operate, beeping in an almost scared fashion. Claw had sustained a minor dent in it's head and was slowly rising to it's feet.
"Okay...clever move."
She curls another fireball in her hand, preparing to throw. With the other, she carefully figures out where her thrown knives had fell and gently drags them out of "hiding" with subtle movements, making sure that Dianne wouldn't be able to tell she was able to bend metal a lot more strongly than the other three elements in her repertoire.

{Not even listening to Crowley's excuses, Pythia grabs him and pulls him inside.} "Sit down! Keep pressure on that, or you'll bleed out! Can I get some help?"
{At this, a few of Sargon's refugees come over to help her, putting pressure on Crowley's wound while she runs to get her supplies.}

{Dianne wasted no time taking advantage of Claw's cumbersome nature to close the distance on Mia. She somersaults over the clumsy robot as it tries to right itself and once again sprints for Mia.}

'I'm not gonna die,' said Crowley, sounding a little offended at the very idea. 'I've survived waaaay worse than this before...' He glanced around, noticing the refugees helping with his wound for the first time. 'Hey, aren't you all from that... Sargoon guy's army? What're you doing here?'

"We were." {One said.} "Until he left us here to die at Dianne's hands."
"But Pythia saved us." {Says another.} "She changed her mind and allowed us to stay here."
{Pythia reappears and puts down her supplies. Putting pressure on Crowley's wound, she begins to use her magic to stop the bleeding.}

'Awww, how sweet,' Crowley snickered. 'You guys would've definitely ended up dead if it weren't for this. The city seems pretty empty - like everyone else is dead.' He paused to watch Pythia tending his wound, then went on speaking. 'I ran into Dianne and some zombie guy while I was out there just now. That's how I nearly died. But it's OK, I'd never REALLY die.'

"I wouldn't be so sure." {One werewolf says.} "You look like you were almost cut in half. Even you couldn't survive total bifurcation."
Pythia: "He's right, you know. You should really stop fighting everyone you meet, before your luck runs out."

'Don't tell meee what I can and can't doooo...' said Crowley in a singsong voice. He seemed almost drunk, which was probably an effect of the blood loss. 'I've ALWAYS picked fights with people... Sometimes I meet people who put up a really good fight... But I'm never gonna stop... it's fuuuun.' He grinned as he watched Pythia and the minions. 'You just don't understand how fun it is because you sit in this temple hiding from everyone.'

"Sorry pal, but I fail to see how getting cut in half is fun." {Said the vampire girl from earlier.}
Pythia: "You need to get your head right, Crowley. I can't keep healing you if you're just going to keep on going out there and trying to hurt people. You need to stop."

'There's nothing wrong with my head!' Crowley argued. 'I'd be able to beat that Dianne woman and her pet draugr easily if they weren't so OP!' He curled his hands into fists. 'You can't make me stop. I like what I do. Besides, it's not like I really get hurt. I can't feel pain like you weaklings can.'

"Just 'cause you can't feel it, doesn't mean it's not real." {The girl said, a little annoyed at Crowley's stubbornness.} "Look at yourself, that should be proof enough."
Pythia: "Maybe I can't stop you from acting like a fool, but I don't have to be here to pick up after you either. Once Dianne's finished here, I'm going to a different temple in another city. So, you're going to have to find someone else to clean up after you."

Crowley huffed in annoyance. 'Whatever. I'm gonna be more careful, and when I pick fights, I'm gonna WIN them. Besides, I could just follow you to wherever you're going if I really needed your help. I probably won't stay here. There's nothing left here for me. Well, except Vitis, but he might be dead or something.'

{Pythia just shakes her head and stands up, having finished stopping the bleeding.} "Crowley, why do you even pick fights with people? What could you possibly have to gain?"

'Duh, what do you think? Glory and respect!' Crowley exclaimed. 'I want people to know how tough I am! I want them to know that I'm brave enough to fight ANYONE, and I never die! I want a cool reputation.' He didn't seem aware that he was most likely just getting a reputation as someone who always got beaten up.

"Oh, you have a reputation alright." {The vampire says.} "A reputation of being the biggest loser in Shacklestone People still call you 'Chicken Wings' in the odd conversation or two. People think of you as more of an annoyance than a worthy foe."

In a swift movement, she throws the fireball at Dianne, but moves her other hand in a way that would be masked by the throw. In reality, she was pulling the metal knives that had been deflected by her opponent towards her, point first, aiming to hit into Dianne's back. A smirk twitches at Mia's lips, knowing that her final card had finally come into play.

{Dianne simply raises her arm and blocks the fire ball with the back of her gauntlet. However, she is unaware of the knives coming at her from behind.}
Magnus: "Dianne! Behind you!"
{Whipping around at Magnus' warning, Dianne sees the blades, but too late to react. Most bounce harmlessly off her armor, but one catches her between the lorica plates, but not very far. Pulling it out, the very tip of the knife has blood on it. Turning to Mia with a very angry expression, Dianne speaks.} "You bend metal as well. That's how you got that hideous thing to function. (Claw)" {Looking at the blood on the knife, she tosses it aside.} "You wasted your chance. You won't be landing that ever again."

'Hey!' said Crowley, sounding aggravated. 'That's definitely not true. I can scare people. Come on, doesn't the fact that I never die make me scary?'

Mia only grins.
"I wouldn't be so sure about that."
She started to formulate a plan in her head. She couldn't run without a distraction, Dianne was far too fast. Five was out of commission and Claw was steadily getting up. Her face lights up slightly as she gets an idea - it was farstretched, but if she could get to the steel robot it would allow her to hightail it outta there and attempt to find Crowley, wherever the hell he was.

{Once again, Dianne bolts for Mia, fully aware of her powers. Regardless, she knows that if she can close the distance on Mia, the fight would be over in seconds. Magnus begins to navigate the rooftops, working to get behind Mia.}

'It doesn't,' Crowley whined. 'It shows that I'm tough and I don't give up no matter HOW many times I end up in pieces!' However, he seemed tired of arguing with her, as he quickly changed the subject. 'So, where are you gonna go after this? Sovereign's City?'

{Pythia replies with a sigh.} "No. Sovereign city is no place for a non-human. After everything that's happened, I doubt I'll be received well. I'll have to go out of province."

'Oh, reeeally? Maybe I'll find out where you're going and stalk you.' Crowley grinned nastily. 'Then again, I might fly to Sovereign City myself. It sounds kinda interesting over there. Plus, I think all of Dianne's stupid allies went there, so I can follow them and cause trouble for them.'
