Because Haru was a lonely child, growing up he had to learn everything himself. His mom and Dad were both horrible people who were actually never home, which Haru liked. But when they were home, there was a lot of screaming, yelling, fighting, and drinking. Haru's dad was a pimp and a drug dealer and would sometimes bring home females. His mom was a business women who cared about money more than anything. She would also come home with other guys. Haru usually stayed in his room and listened to music and played video games, rarely coming out, even for food. When Haru was about 13, he would wake up early and leave the house for the day. Sometimes he'd get caught and would get a beating, sometimes, knives were involved, but that was rarely. Other times, when he'd come home, his mom or dad would be too 'busy' to care.
One day, he got the news that his dad had died from an overdose, which made him extremely depressed. A few months later, his mom became a heavy drinker, which resulted mood swings. Haru was always so scared to be in the same room as her, thinking that one day his mom would pass, so, he took care of her, even if all she did was get mad at him.
Eventually, his mom had gotten so abusive that it drove him out of the house, and he's never seen her since.
