might oughta edit that to "bless their soul" 'cause saying "bless their heart" is like saying theyre a dumbass (or something else negative) in a very lowkey way (usually only southerners will catch it, goes over everyone else's heads) lol

im not sure what the origin for it is. it is weird, im curious about that now... might google it sometime. o3o
if the phrase is used in northern & western regions it probably isnt a stealth insult but in southern areas it's definitely an insult, a very lowkey one but it's one.
so if you ever find yourself anywhere from like... i guess NC (where i live) tooo... idk, georgia? and someone says "bless her heart" when talking about you, theyre either an a.sshole or dont realize what the phrase means lol
