''Hiya! Name's Hanami. I want to talk you about my specie! Me and my friends are born like you humans, but we can shift into our bird form whenever we want as long as we have our collar! That thing is truly important, because it's gem is like our heart! You break it... you kill us! x.x And removing it will make our wings appear. Be careful and don't loose it! We are hunted a lot, people want our feathers and gems... D-don't be like that, please!
Our bird form is really small. You can put one Tori in your palm and we usually say ''kweh'' <3. And you know what? We have magical abilities! We control wind and we can heal others but not ourselves. And the coolest in my opinion: we can stay on clouds! And humans can stay on those we create! It's really fun to troll them >:D Oh, and we are really great singers, but... eh... it is embarrassing, at least for me ^///^...

Ahh, that seems like it could work.
So, prior to them receiving them, (Since it states crushing the gem would kill them :( ) are like "free"? But then get bound to the gem? Idk if I worded that right... :')
Like cause if they aren't born with it, and the God/Goddess gives it to them?
