I've been wanting to do something like this for a while now. To show how much I've improved over the years and to show all of you how bad I was.
Nearly 8 years later, this is how far I've come and I plan on keep on going.
-
I was 15 years old when I drew the Moltres on the left, using the paint system that was on my computer.
But I thought, back then, my art was amazing. Oh boy.
I saved my old drawings (Which were 99% Pokemon drawings) to my facebook. I have at least a dozen more of these awful things saved, ahaha

I wanted to show you all some of my old art, to show you how far I've come and how far you can go. It takes time, dedication and practice to improve.
It's not just practice that takes you this far, it's the will to keep going and to constantly improve with each piece. I spend hours staring at my newest paintings and picking them apart, to see what I can do better next time.
And who are we without our inspirations? I've been inspired by countless artists, many of my inspirations have become my friends. It doesn't hurt to ask others questions and get some advice for what you can improve on next time.
Being an artist can be frustrating and saddening for being unable to do amazing work like another artist can. But you have to remember, no one started out that way.
It's also satisfying and fulfilling to see how you once were, to see how far you've come and to know you can only improve as you go.

Never stop drawing.

Hoo dang, that is some incredible improvement!! I love how you've interpreted the design in your own style. Beautiful job!
I might have to try this sometime...

Wow, you really have improved!
I mean, the older one wasn't bad for your age, but you've far surpassed it.
Like Fade pointed out, while in the older drawing you seemed to use the exact design and style of moltres instead of trying to imply your own into the drawing- Also the background was very dull- But now you've not only developed your own style, but you drew moltres your way and the background is just fabulous!
You've improved so much haha

The right one is a beautiful piece. Hopefully one day I'll be able to make this much progress with my art.
