Dreamquills are a species of intelligent, terrestrial reptilian monsters that have patterned frills. Their name comes from the quills on their heads that release hallucinogens that make their prey fall into a dream-state and lower their guard significantly.
They eat bones, their saliva softening the bones for consumption. They usually have eight eyes and holes in their necks that represent their age

Different Dreamquills:

Common

Dreamquills: Shades of blues and greens with yellow patterens on their frills.

Marequills: Nocternal dreamquills that harness fear and nightmares instead of dreams. They are darker colours

Uncommon

Paraquills: Paracitic dreamquills that lay eggs with their deformed tails in their victims. The offspring slowly feed on the bones if their host until they are ready to emerge. Use quills like normal dreamquills

Moonquills: Black quills with white markings with the same functioning as a dreamquill, but same behavior as marequills. They are hybrids

Rare

Quietquills: A group of antisocial dreamquills whom prefer to wear masks and be alone. They have no queen/alpha

Blastquills: Rowdy quills whom use their quills as an offensive hunting means. Their quills produce a highly explosive powder (i will write it in the comments when i remember.) they are warmer colours

Queenquills:

Every tribe of quills (except, of course, marequills) has a queen. The queen is a female capable of both ase.xual and se.xual repriduction. The only time ase.xual happens is when a new queenquill is born. Only one queenquill per tribe. When the queen's time is up and shes too old, she births a new queenquill whom she trains until death.

Mythical:

The rarest of the quills is the shiftquill. The shiftquill is an elusive quill able to physically take on different forms. They are very hard to find and are masters of stealth. Their colouration ranges from any colour on dreamquill visible light spectrum and they are too rare to have much info on them

New Common subspecies--

Floodquill: They have smooth hides wuth colours ranging from greens to blues to purples. All have red scleras and light irises.
They have webbed toes, quills, and tails and have two subtypes: aquatic and marine
