A Gift or a Curse?

A long time ago, roughly 8 and a half million years ago, the first Niironox started to wander Niirawxzah (The home planet of the Niironox, that’s what the Niironox call it). How they came to be, no one knows. But they’re believed (by humans, who appeared there 2 million years ago) to be evil, the Niironoxes appearances often resemble the humans version of the Devil or at least Demons. It’s why Tobias was nicknamed ‘Diablo’ meaning ‘Devil’

Out of fear, the humans of Niirawxzah began to hunt down and slaughter Niironox (thousands of years ago and still hunt them to this day). Which one would think would be difficult, as some Niironox were 40ft tall. But that was their weakness, their bellies are not armored like the rest of their bodies, so it was somewhat easy to slice open the bellies of Niironox and watch their guts spill out. Even if a Niironox curled up and protected its belly, humans could eventually get the strong plating loose and that would spell disaster for a Niironox.

The best method the humans used was pitfall traps, and these were no ordinary pitfalls. Some of these traps went 300 or more feet deep underground. Which obviously took quite a bit of time. At the bottom of some of these pitfalls, were jagged steel or stone spikes, impaling the Niironox who fell down there. Dead was either quick after the fall or some unfortunate Niironox would suffer for days on end until they finally died.

Niironox aren’t stupid dragons (yes, they are dragons, more on that later). But the humans would corner one or two and drive them back into the hidden or sometimes wide open traps. They would either bind the Niironox up with rope or chains and have strong horses pull them to their doom, horses like Clydesdales or other Draft Horses. More often than not, these horses died as well. Or they would use sharp weapons to drive it back.

As the Niironox species neared Extinction, the first Guardian appeared, she was fast and stood at 80ft tall. She held the power of death and decay, she’d rust their chains and use her long claws to free Niironox. It was thought the Guardians always existed amongst the Niironox, but they were few in numbers and were probably killed before they could awaken.

More joined the first, up to five Guardians existed at one point and soon the Niironox were able to come back from there near extinction, as the tables were turned on the humans (The humans named the Guardians, ‘the Titans’). But it didn’t last long before the true nature of a Guardian came to light. One of a blood thirsty, colossal, monster.

The first Guardian was the first to reveal this true nature, as she tore into one of the other Guardians. The smell of his blood soon had the other three eating him alive as well. Needless to say, the Niironox were horrified, their Guardians just became their greatest enemy. As the Guardians large bodies burned energy quickly and their appetites were ravenous. The Guardians soon started eating Niironox, humans and any other living creature.

Humans and Niironox joined together at that time, to bring down the Guardians. It worked, but it wasn’t without casualties. Both sides faced extreme losses, 4 of the Guardians were dead now. One eaten by the other 4, 3 killed by the combined forces. But one escaped, the one they named Decay, they tried to find her, but they had no luck. Somehow she’d vanished, it’s thought she figured out how to reverse her transformation. The others had died because they couldn’t reverse their Guardian Forms.
Where Decay is, if she’s still alive, is anyone’s guess. But it’s thought she came back years later, using a new power to warp history. Or at least the minds of those who were writing about the Great War. Altering it to where the humans took down the colossal Titans without help from the Niironox. It’s why the two species (Humanity and Niironoxes) are still fighting today.

That was history though, of events that occurred hundreds of thousands of years ago. The only reason some would know about this, is because of what was written at the time. Decay may have warped minds, but she didn’t erase the notes.

There are thought to be 6 different kinds of Guardians. One for the Earth, One for the Sky, One for Fire, One for the Water, One for Life and One for Death.

Tobias is one for the Earth, he’s the heaviest of all the Guardians and hits the hardest of all three. Especially his kick, with his hard obsidian hooves, he could shatter another Guardians ribcage with a single kick. But he moves the slowest of all Guardians, his heavy obsidian armor weighs him down greatly. He has the ability, only in this form, to restore ruined forests. (Height = 180ft tall)

Slate is one for the Fires, he is the second fastest Guardian and can coat himself in a blazing red fire. But that takes up a lot of energy to do, his quills are also capable of being fired off and regrowing. Only the ones on his hips and shoulder blades. He can burn down a city in a single night, but his type is the quickest to get hungry from the massive amount of energy he could burn. He’s the quickest to lose control, but he’s countered by Tobias and the One for the Waters. (Height = 157ft tall)

One for the Waters. This Guardian can manipulate the seas and any water it comes in contact with, and it’s usually a female who’s a Water Guardian. She could even purify the most tainted and polluted waters, restoring them to a drinkable and safe state. She is the one with the most control and least likely to lose control. She is countered by Tobias, but she can also counter him. (Average height = Between 60ft - 100ft tall)

One for the Skies. This one is a master of the skies, thought to be the only Guardian and only Niironox to have wings and be able to fly, but it sacrifices armor for its wings. But it has more quills on its body than any other Niironox. It can whip up savage hurricanes and deadly tornadoes. It’s countered by Slate and Decay. And it can’t lift Tobias. (Average height = Between 100ft - 130ft tall)

The Guardians all have razor sharp and large fangs, designed to easily rip through and break apart anything they bite into. Even Guardians don’t want to be bitten by another. One for all Death has the deadliest bite. [Will be explained later…]

Twin tails

All the Guardians have two, twin, tails. Each with their own unique design and/or pattern. The Guardians all move fairly slow compared to regular Niironoxes and horses. This is why they have extremely long and powerful tails, to help swat away any pests.

The ‘Flame’ on each Guardians tail, isn’t actually a flame, it’s light magic (dark magic for Decay). What’s contained in every Niironoxes bulb. Slate is the only one who can heat it up, the rests are harmless and are indicators for what Guardian they are (as the light can be seen from quite a distance).

White - Earth
Red - Fire
Blue - Water
Light Blue - Sky
Pink - Life
Black - Death (Hers can not be seen)

All Guardians vision is Infrared. If they can’t see whoever is there, they’ll listen. Those 6 big ears aren’t for decoration.

"Tobias doubled over, screaming in agony, it felt like everything in his body was tearing and breaking at the same time. Hell, he could feel his bones and anatomy altogether changing.

His tail waved in the air behind him as he dug his claws into the ground. A line appeared on his tail and the bulb at the end shattered, sounding much like a breaking light bulb. His tail started to rip and his toes fused into heavy hooves.

Tobias could only scream, his lungs felt like they were about to burst and his throat felt like someone had clawed it out. His tail finally snapped apart, into two tails, as tears ran down Tobias's cheeks, he felt like he was being flayed alive.
Two more ears formed from his skin on both sides of his head and the obsidan took form on his tails as a white 'flame' jetted out from his tail tips.

Despite how painful his transformation, it only took 10 minutes to complete and he lay across the ground. Feeling the the last of his transformation finish, his quills fused into his skin and then the pain was gone. He lay there and only took deep breathes for now..."

Very interestjng! I don't usually read full lore like this unless it has to do with a species I own a character of, but I read through all of this! It was incredibly written.
