{A very sad werewolf speaks out to Wendigo.} "No! That witch said she's going to kill my girlfriend just to spite me for being safe in here!" {He then breaks down sobbing again.}

'OHH. That kind of intervention.' Armin frowned, thinking about it. 'Well, that'd be great, but I don't think we can force Dianne to get professional help for her issues. She's more likely to just kill us all.'

Wendigo snorted. 'If your girlfriend is like the rest of you asshoIes, then she deserves to die. I could ask Dianne to spare her, but honestly, she listens to nobody. If your girl has any common sense, she'll get out of the city.'

{Magnus scratches his chin in thought.} "I'll try to talk to her. Maybe she won't, y'know? I think she's tired of being in pain."

{The wolf looks up.} "Hey, maybe she will. She's pretty smar-"
Dianne: "Nope. I found her."
{In dragon form, Dianne drops out of the sky with the girl in hand. She was a vampire with flaming red hair and road leathers.}
Wolf: "Stacy, no!"

{Magnus looks up mid conversation.} "Oh, look at that. Dianne found that poor girl. Welp, she's gonna die."

Inside her hideout, Mia grumbles under her breath as she hammers the metal of her robot Claw back into place, one hand open with a fireball in the palm to soften it enough to be malleable.
"Dumb frickin' dudes, busting up my dude..."
Finally, she sits back, "turning off" the fire and grinning, flicking her hair back over her face.
"And he's done! Ready to smash some idiots in the face!"
She hops down from her stool, waving her hand to cause Five (who she put in stasis to save power) to roll into Crowley.
"C'mon Crowboy, look alive! It's murder time!"

Wendigo turned and saw Dianne holding the vampire. He immediately moved towards her, holding up a hand in a 'wait' gesture. 'Look, I'm all for killing these monsters, but maybe Dianne's right. Some of these guys were forced to fight for Sargon, they might not agree with everything he does.'

Frederick and Armin also came over to watch. 'Not necessary, Dianne,' said Fred in a warning voice. 'Senseless killing makes you no better than them.'

Crowley jerked upright as Five bumbled into him, snapping his teeth instinctively towards the robot before he remembered what was going on. 'Uh, I definitely wasn't asleep,' he said sarcastically. He stretched and yawned. 'Seriously, could you have taken any longer fixing that thing?'

{Dianne looked around at everyone like they were crazy.} "Have you all lost your minds? These freaks don't deserve mercy! They deserve to be sent straight to hell, where they all belong!"
{Magnus steps up next.} "Are you listening to yourself? Do you know who you sound like?"
Werewolf: "Stop, please! W- we just wanted freedom! We didn't even kill or turn any humans and Sargon knew that, I think that's why he left us here! I think he left us all here for you to kill! Like Grimm! He never liked Grimm!"

Mortikai runs through the city in his bengal form, not paying attention to the carnage happening around him. He nears Pythia's temple, unaware that basically everyone else was there too until a centaur swipes at him. He lets out a yowl, skittering sway from where the blade had hit the ground mere inches from his tail.
"H-....hey! What's the big idea?!"
He says between breaths, fur standing on end in fear.

'What about me, Dianne?' said Armin, loudly enough to get her attention. 'What about me and Frederick? We didn't choose to work for that maniac. And I have old friends in his army who didn't choose to, either. What if we find them someday? Are you going to brutally slaughter them, too?'

Wendigo kept quiet and watched attentively, ready to spring forwards if a fight broke out.

{The centaur looks odd. It's eyes are glowing red and its head is twitching, turning and convulsing.} "All of Sargon's must die!" {With that, it takes another swipe.}

"Hey, building stuff like this is pretty delicate. You gotta get it right or they'll just fall apart the moment they try to punch something."
She pats Claw on the chassis as she speaks, it's internal furnace sparking into life and starting up it's systems, optics flickering into simulated life.
"Buuuuuuut now we can go find those cowering idiots and kill them!"

'Yeeeaaah...' Crowley mumbled, obviously not fully awake yet. He shook himself and stood up. 'Y'know, I'm pretty sure I heard fighting across the city a little while ago. Let's go out and see what's going on. It might be interesting.' With that, he stepped out onto the streets and looked around, rustling his feathered wings together impatiently.

Swearing loudly, he jumps out of the way.
"I'm not with Sargon you stupid lump of rotting flesh!"
He hisses, leaping up onto it's back to try to stop it from attacking him, digging in his claws to stay anchored.
"Necromantic structures, so god damn dim..."

{Dianne looks at Armin hatefully, but slowly, her scowl starts to turn to something else.}
Magnus: "Dianne.....You're not Delilah any more."
{Dianne starts to look around at everything, Armin, Fred, Wendigo, the terrified girl between her talons, as if she snapped out of a different state of consciousness. However, she turns to see her reflection in a window, of her about to kill this helpless girl. That seems to wake her up as she shifts back and backs away, wearing an expression of fear and guilt, looking at her hands.} "What....have I become?"

{Howling and screeching, the centaur reaches back and grabs Morty, cutting into him with its metal claws. With that, it tears him off its back and throws him into a wall.} "You are Brink's and Brink helps Sargon. Therefore, you are Sargon's!"

With a wary expression, Frederick came forwards to take the vampire girl's arm and lead her over to her werewolf boyfriend. Armin just watched Dianne.

'You haven't become anything,' said Wendigo in a low growl. 'You're whatever you decide to be.'

"Waking" Five up, the two robots follow Mia out after Crowley.
"Ooo, really? Let's go see! Sounds a lot more exciting than a group of humans that don't know how to fight."
She grins, standing up next to the shifter.

Crowley grinned as he kept walking, taking the lead as if he did this sort of thing every day. Which he probably did.

'Let's find someone,' he said. 'It feels like it's been forever since my last fight.'

{The girl runs to the wolf and they hug in tears.}
Stacy: "I thought I was going to die......}
Wolf: "Oh, I was so worried...That's it, we're leaving Sargon's bullshit army. Too many ancient evils trying to murder us."
{Pythia just smiles and Magnus leads a dazed looking Dianne away, towards a building.}
Magnus: "Wendigo! You're in charge for a bit. Finish up out here, I trust your judgment."

"Gah! Knew that'd come back to bite me in the ass...At this rate Pythia's gonna have to heal me again."
He mutters to himself, getting back onto all four paws. Nothing was broken, thankfully, he'd gotten used to the feeling of having intact ribs again, but he was bleeding from where it had grabbed him. Thinking quickly, he scales up to a broken window and slinks into the building, hoping he was safe.

For a moment, everyone just watches the werewolf and Stacy reuniting. Then Wendigo turns sharply to address the group.

'Alright, guys, we're going to look for more goons in the surrounding area. If we find any that are obviously capable of redemption, we bring them back here. If they're just maniacs then we kill 'em. Come on!'

He steals a final glance at the couple before stomping off down another street. Armin and Frederick follow him.

(Aaaaand I suddenly switch from writing in past tense to present tense. I have no consistency.)

"Yeah! I've been itching for a fight. Sargon's so boring, he didn't let us fight until he told us to. I'm soooo glad Dark Brink convinced me to go back under him, he's so much cooler. He rewards us for messing people up!"

Crowley smirked. 'This Dark Brink guy... I've heard stuff about him. I've even heard that he's helping the Sargon loser kill the humans... So, is he really as awesome as you keep saying? Or is he just another idiot with a bit of magic who thinks he's better than the rest of us?' He cocked his head and eyed Mia with an unblinking stare.

{The centaur runs around the building, looking for a door to break down. Finding one, it busts in, looking for Mortikai.} "Stop RUNNING!"

(Hey, Dianne's a little sad rn. Throw Crowley at her so she can get angry again. XD)

"Eh, he probably realised Sargon was doing evil stuff, which creates dark energy or something like that, and he basically lives off that stuff. So, he retcons Sargon's plan into his and boom. Instantly ten times more powerful from the mass slaughter of humans."
She shrugs a little, crossing her arms.
"I dunno. Don't even know why he's getting all this power in the first place. Probably something to do with revenge, he always sympathizes with that lot."

'Well, I guess you must really like him in any case,' said Crowley with a shrug. 'I've never wanted to serve anyone. I do what I WANT to do, and I don't listen to anyone. It's a great life, baaaaby.' He grinned to himself. probably thinking back on some of the things he'd done in the past.

As he was walking, he smelled something nearby and began to automatically head towards it.

He yells as he finds a small hole in the wall, clawing at it to escape into the cavity between the walls, shivering at all the spiderwebs he has to crawl through.

It was a a short while before dawn. Sargon called the army to a halt over the crest of a large hill, and the dragons all landed to rest their wings before the battle ahead. He dismounted from Ana and gazed at the shadow of Sovereign City up ahead. The city was still about a mile away, but he was sure the King's men would soon make a move to halt their approach. They would not stay quiet for long.

A soldier sent by the royal army commander walked up to the room where Jerry was staying and knocked on the door. 'Sir? It's nearly sunrise. We must be prepared.'

(I'm gonna go for now, since I'm not sure there's anyone here, but I'll check back in a little while.)

(Sorry, had to eat.)

{Jerry opens the door, already dressed.} "Of course. We'll get our gear and meet up with the general."

{The centaur looks around for Mortikai, just seeing the end of his tail go into the wall. Immediately, the centaur pounces and starts punching holes in the wall, trying to get Mortikai with one."

'The general will meet with you in the entrance hall,' said the soldier. He then hurried away.

Just then, the other door opened and Ivy stuck her head out, watching the soldier as he rounded a corner and disappeared from view. 'God, whose idea was it to get up this early?' she complained in a sleepy mumble.

"Cheer up, Ivy." {Jerry says with a grin.} "Today's the day we stick it to Sargon. Let's go!" {Jerry starts walking down the hall.}

Ivy just muttered something under her breath in a grumpy tone and followed him, dragging her feet.

Once they reached the entrance hall, the army general was waiting for them. 'Good morning,' he said with a grim smile. 'Up bright and early, I see. Good. There's some slightly bad news, I'm afraid. The King is gone. He took a private 'copter and left in the middle of the night. Nobody's sure exactly where he went to.'

{Jerry just gives an exasperated look.} "Really? Well, at least we don't need him to win..."

'Of course not. We can manage fine without him - though I just hope he shows up again when all of this is over.' The general smiled. 'Anyway, here's our plan of action. Half of the royal army are going to head out and meet Sargon's forces on the field, before they reach the city borders. The other half will stay here to repel him if he manages to reach the city. Remember, our army is much larger than his, so we have an advantage.'

{Jerry scratches his chin in thought.} "Ok, makes sense. I have but one concern. When you send your army out on that open field, what's going to stop those dragons from tearing right through your ranks, or just attacking from above with magic and elemental breath?"

'We don't plan on marching out there on foot. Only an idiot would attack dragons with infantry,' replied the general. 'No, we'll be using fighter planes. Most of them are as big as the dragons or bigger, and they're equipped with specially treated ammo designed to bring down supernatural creatures.'

{Jerry nods while grinning.} "Oho, that's going to be good.}

Just then, there was a low whine of an engine from right above the palace. The general looked up at the ceiling and waited until the plane had passed by. 'Well, sounds like they're ready. I'm going out to the army. You are your people can do whatever you want to help.' He turned and began to walk away.

{Jerry nods in farewell and turns to his group.} "Ok, I thing we'd be most useful on the ramparts with the heavy rifles, taking out any dragons the planes and artillery miss. Our priority is to keep Sargon from getting a foothold inside the city."

'I can help with that,' said Ivy, seeming to wake up a little. 'I know how to use a gun now.'

The general went outside, where he found that the city had been evacuated of all non-military citizens and his troops were preparing for battle. He walked up to the largest fighter plane and climbed inside. 'We'll hit them hard and fast, giving them no time to respond,' he said over the radio. 'Don't hesitate!'

The planes took off one by one, and sped off towards the hill where Sargon's forces had stopped to rest.

Since the cavity was only so wide, Morty was unable to turn around and go back the way he came. His eyes dart around as he moves swiftly through the walls in order to avoid the centaur's punches. He notices some beams sticking out above him, leaping up onto that with barely a sound, spooking a rat that ran off in the same direction. He sits there for a few moments, hoping the rat was enough to confuse the centaur into continuing after it.

{Jerry nods and hands Ivy a heavy rifle. Everyone in their group spreads out along the wall, rifles in hand and prepare for the coming rush of dragons and infantry.}

{The centaur follows the sound of the rat along the wall, tearing massive holes in it, trying to find its prey.}

Sargon had already sighted the King's men deploying from the heart of the city. He called his army to attention.

'They are dividing their forces,' he said softly. 'Sending half to attack us here, and half to defend the city. They have a good sense of strategy. Ana... come. The battle starts here.'

He vaulted up onto the dragon's back, and the army took off. There were at least a hundred dragons and each one had at least two riders, either werewolf, vampire, or magic wielder. The drone of the planes grew louder, filling the countryside.
The front line reached Sargon's army in an explosion of noise. Dragons roared and screamed, fire erupted in the sky and bullets slammed against armoured scales. Two dragons fell to the ground, killing their riders. A fighter plane was torn apart by three others in an explosion of fractured metal.

Sargon stayed high above the battlefield, shouting telepathic commands to his troops while Ana blasted the planes below them with jets of flame.

From the top of the city wall, Ivy kept up a cheerful running commentary. 'Ooh, that horrible thing just destroyed one of the planes...' she said, referring to Ana. 'And one of the big dragons just got blasted to pieces! It had three riders, I bet they're all dead now.'

Mortikai waits for a few long moments, listening to make sure that the centaur had moved far enough away for him to silently slip out of the building.
"If that thing's attacking anyone, I'd bet that there are others..."
As he drops down from the window, he pauses, eyes widening slightly in fear.
"Oh no. If it realised that I'm with Dark Brink, then..."
Heart in his throat, he sprints off, now more looking for Dianne than for anyone else, aiming to get her to call the bloodthirsty creatures off before they could kill anyone he was particularly attached to.

"Eh, he's kinda like a cool uncle. Partially raised me, really. Taught me everything I needed to know about everything."
She shrugs, seeming a little disinterested in the turn the conversation took, only to regain interest when Crowley walks forward to follow the scent. With a gesture of her hand, she sends Five to scout out whatever it was with Crowley.

Crowley wasn't exactly paying attention to anything Mia was saying anymore; he was busy following the strange scent. To him, it smelled a bit like dragon, mixed with corpses, and led him in the direction of some buildings. He approached silently, trying to find who was leaving the scent.

(Aggron - He's approaching Magnus and Dianne, but I don't know exactly where they are, so feel free to have them notice him if you want.)

(Oh boy are we gonna have Morty and Crowley fight it out again :D)

{Dianne and Magnus were sitting on a rooftop, talking about what happened. Dianne was in a slumped posture wearing a very disheartened face while Magnus was quite a bit more upbeat, trying to cheer her up, seemingly.}
Magnus: "............So it's ok. You're used to murdering everything that opposes you, and you're kinda in a bad spot since you recalled that stuff. You just just need to ease up on the murder, and pick your targets. Sargon? Ana? Murder. Vampire who was unwillingly dragged into this? Don't murder. See, it's easy."
{Dianne just blankly stares into space.} "....I'm not sure I'm capable of it...They all seem deserving to me..."
{Magnus gives a worried look, but before he can continue, he spots Crowley and five on approach.} Magnus: "Oh bother, what now?"

{Jerry just gives Ivy a side glance.} "Please, Ivy, we could do without the commentary."

The little brass robot makes a worried beep, looking up at Crowley and then back to Mia, who turns the corner with the massive form of Claw behind her.
"Ooo, those two up there look like they'd be fun to fight."
She grins, speaking quiet enough for only Crowley to hear.

Crowley cackled with laughter, not bothering to keep quiet anymore. 'It's some weird zombie dude and that dragon woman I fought the other day,' he announced. Striding forwards, he shifted into his human form, picked a stone off the ground, and lobbed it up at the roof. 'Hey, idiots!'

Ivy shot Jerry an annoyed sideways glance in return. 'I'll do what I want,' she muttered. But she did ease up on the narrative, only making the occasional comment on what was going on.

Meanwhile, the skirmish between the non-humans and the King's fighter planes was still raging over the hillside. Several more planes had been downed, but even more dragons were dead. Suddenly, with a shriek of fury, two dragons pounced on the largest plane - the general's - and pulled it to the ground, giving several of their comrades time to fly past the enemy and towards the city walls.

{Magnus reaches up and catches the stone. Dianne speaks in a low tone, demeanor unchanging.} "Go away, Crowley. I'm not in the mood..."
{Magnus looks at Mia and Claw with some confusion.} "...That your girlfriend, Crowley? And what's that thing? A trash can with arms and legs?"

{Jerry curses at the general's plane going down.} "Alright, eyes up! Hostiles inbound!"

'Don't tell me to go away!' Crowley called back. Then he seemed to register what Magnus had just said. 'Eww, no, she isn't. I don't want a girlfriend. She's just some random person I met.' He glanced around at Mia and Five.

Five dragons were swiftly approaching the wall, with more following at a distance. The front line opened their jaws and blasted fireballs down at the defenders, while the magic wielders on their backs sent down crackling balls of electricity. Ivy yelled out as a fireball smashed into the wall a few feet below where she was standing, and tried to aim her rifle.

{Jerry doesn't flinch, aiming his rifle right at the closest approaching dragon. Firing, he headshots the dragon, the explosive tipped round showering brains on the riders. The rest of his family open fire on the approaching dragons as well.} Jerry: "Don't let them reach the inner walls!"

{Dianne just glares at Crowley, anger rising up a little.} "I said beat it! I've got enough shit to deal with without your obnoxious voice!"

The dragons tried to dodge the storm of ammunition, but their huge bodies made it difficult, and several more crashed to the ground. Before long, there was a pile of corpses heaped at the bottom of the city wall.

Just then, a smaller dragon darted up to the top of the wall. Her riders were dead and she had an injured leg, but she was still alive. With a furious howl, she swooped above the defenders and struck out with her tail, aiming to sweep everyone off the wall.

{Jerry leaps to the side to avoid getting swept.} "Stop her! She can't be allowed to sweep us off the wall!" {Eliza sees the dragon coming, takes aim, and blows a hole in the dragon's chest.}

The shot killed the dragon instantly, but as she fell, her wing struck Ivy and knocked her sideways. With a small shriek, Ivy disappeared from sight. When the dragon was gone, the emptiness revealed Ivy hanging over the side of the wall, clinging onto the edge with one hand, trying not to fall.

"Ivy!" {Jerry runs over to her and grabs her arm.} "Give me your other arm!"

Ivy had been keeping hold of her rifle with her other hand, but after a moment's hesitation, she dropped it and reached up to grab Jerry's hand. Meanwhile, the few remaining dragons swooped and circled some seventy feet above, trying to stay out of the guns' ranges.

In the distance, the rest of Sargon's force were still fighting the King's planes.

{With a grunt, Jerry hauls Ivy back on the ramparts.} "You ok?"

'Yeah... I'm fine...' Ivy replied, looking slightly shaken. She glanced back over the wall and swore under her breath when she remembered she'd dropped her rifle. 'Let's just keep shooting them or something.'

Even as she spoke, another wave of dragons flew near the wall. This time, though, they didn't fly close enough to attack. Instead, they swooped overhead and several riders - a dozen werewolves and some vampires - jumped off their backs and onto the ramparts. They immediately leapt at the defenders, howling battle-cries.

"Better shoot fast!" {Jerry quickdraws his revolver and guns down a werewolf that was fast approaching.} "Don't let them into the city!"

One of the other soldiers protecting the wall opened rapid fire on the werewolf pack, killing most of them before a vampire, which had shifted into a bird to evade the bullets, leapt on him and tore his throat out. Not even flinching, Ivy snatched up the dead man's gun and shot the vampire through the head.

While all this was going on, two of the dragons flew over the wall and into the city streets, blasting flame and killing half a dozen troops.

"Kill those dragons!" {Jerry yells, getting his rifle out. The Old Man and Sarah do the same.}

One of the dragons, ignoring the troops firing at him, started flying up to the palace. With a flick of his tail, he send half a wall crashing down to rubble. Before he could do any more damage, one of the fighter planes glided over and gunned him down.

The second dragon attacked the base of the wall where the defenders were standing, causing the whole structure to tremble dangerously. Ivy aimed her gun and blasted him, but only managed to give him a minor wound in his wing.

{Growling, Jerry gets holds on as the wall shakes. Sarah aims her rifle and blows the dragon's brains out the back of his head.} "Watch the wall!"

As the dragon collapsed, Ivy gazed out across the plains beyond the city. 'Huh, I don't see many of Sargon's people anymore. Are they all dead already?'

Sure enough, it seemed oddly quiet over the battlefield now. A few planes were circling the area, some still locked in combat with the remaining dragons, but there weren't many of them around. And there was no sign of Ana or Sargon.

{Jerry looked around.} "Don't let your guard down. Sargon's a crafty bastard." {Eliza looked about at the strangely quiet battlefield.}
Eliza: "Hey, didn't there used to be like seventy dragons above us out of range? Did they all die?"

Ivy looked up. The sky was veiled in grey clouds and there were only two dragons were visible, circling high up. 'Maybe they all ran away. They knew they couldn't beat us,' she said a little smugly.

Suddenly, there was an explosion of roars. At least forty dragons came diving out of the sky directly above the city, plunging down to attack the palace. They had been using the cloud cover to fly over the city wall unnoticed.

The army's planes immediately roared towards the city and began firing at the dragons, while the soldiers on the ground started firing up at them.

{Jerry curses at the sight of them.} "Damn it! The clouds!" {With that, everyone opens fire on the dragons, trying to bring them down before they can do too much damage}

The shots downed a good number of the dragons, but not before hundreds of the King's troops had been consumed by fire, teeth, and claws.

Amongst all of the chaos, And appeared from the clouds with Sargon on her back. Hovering a hundred feet above the ground, Ana gave an ear-piercing screech and used Spirit Summon to pull ghosts from all of the dead soldiers below her. The ghosts immediately grabbed weapons and started shooting and hacking at the royal troops. While they were doing this, Ana fired down balls of magic that blew more troops to smithereens. The tides were rapidly turning in Sargon's favour.

"Son of a bitch!" {Jerry jumps off the wall and runs closer to the fight. Taking aim, he fires at Ana. Not to render her unable to fight, rather, to hit Sargon. The round blows through Ana, hitting her spine, showering Sargon with bullet bits and bone shrapnel.}

As soon as she noticed Jerry firing at her, and realising a split second later that he was actually aiming for Sargon, Ana let out a shriek of rage and activated her Ward spell, creating a transparent magical barrier around herself. The bullets bounced off the shield and flew back towards Jerry. However, this wasn't before Ana had taken heavy spinal damage and Sargon had gotten several bullets in his chest.

'Ana! Retreat!' he called out.

The dragon growled furiously. 'I cannot retreat, my Lord! We have to seize the city! We have to--'

'Ana, the army is virtually destroyed. There's nothing we can do. Escape from here.' Sargon doubled over on her back with a sudden wheezing breath. Some of the bullets had hit his lungs.

After a moment of indecision, Ana turned and began to swiftly fly from the city. She hated to turn her back on their enemies, but her priority, she'd decided, was getting herself and her master to safety.

During all of this, most of the remaining minions had been gunned down and the handful of survivors were also fleeing in different directions.

"Bastards!" {Jerry yells, firing repeatedly at the fleeing pair. As he walks forward, however, he stumbles. It seems when Ana had put up her ward, he caught a ricocheted bullet in the side. Clutching his wound, he pulls out his side arm and continues firing.} "Damn you..."

Ivy came over. 'Hey! Quit it, you're just wasting bullets,' she snapped. 'They're too far away... But there's nowhere for them to go, we'll catch them,' she added with a nasty grin.

Now flying over the plains outside the city, Ana threw a glance over her shoulder. Two fighter planes were pursuing them; she raised another Ward to protect them from their firepower. 'Are you all right, my Lord?'

'Don't go to Shacklestone,' Sargon replied, ignoring the question. 'Dianne and the others will have taken over it by now. Go east... To the Mountain Region. We can find a place to hide.'

{Jerry tries to stand, but falls over.} "yeeaaahhh.....I think I need a medic....."

(Dianne: "Oh, Sargon, come back. I did some redecorating. I think you'll like it...">:D)

'Oh, dammit.' Ivy knelt down beside Jerry, then glanced around worriedly. 'That Steve guy didn't come with us, did he?'

Just then, a small group of the King's soldiers appeared on the ramparts. They were all out of breath and covered in blood, but bore triumphant expressions. 'We did it!' one of them exclaimed. 'The ugly bastards ran away! Hey, wait a second.' He looked down at Jerry and Ivy. 'Are you OK? What just happened?'

(Sargon: 'Oh thank you Dianne, I really do appreciate your kindness. But Ana and I are going to stay with... um... a friend.' *quickly leaves*)

"I caught a...Ricochet bullet...." {Jerry said, blinking profusely.} "....Don't you guys have medics? No, Ivy, Steve stayed with Dianne and the others..."

(Dianne: "But you don't have any friends. No one likes //you//. {Gives evil grin.})

(Sargon: 'But--'
Ana: 'WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? Of course someone likes him! /I/ like him!')

'Yeah, we have medics in the palace,' said the leader of the group of soldiers. 'Though they're working overtime right now, with all the people needing treatment...' He pulled Jerry's arm around his shoulders and started to help him back off to the palace.

Ivy started to follow, then hesitated and looked over the battlefield. Half-ruined planes lay everywhere. '...Do you think the general's dead?' she said, almost to herself.

(Dianne: "You don't count. You don't like the man, you just like what's in his pants.")

{Jerry doesn't answer, as he was entirely focused on getting to the palace. }

(Ana: *screeches* 'HOW DARE YOU?! I like him because he's a wonderful person who's doing the best he can for our society! Just because I think he's very attractive too, DOES NOT mean I don't love him for other reasons.')

The soldiers took Jerry inside the palace and into a kind of hospital room. It was full of people; they had run out of spare beds, so a lot of the injured soldiers were simply sitting on chairs or, for the less seriously hurt, standing by the walls. Doctors and medics were hurrying from person to person, administering treatment. One doctor came over and looked Jerry over. 'Bullet wound?' he asked. 'We've had a few of those in already. Come over here and sit down.' He led them over to a chair in the corner.

Back in the city, Armin, Frederick and Wendigo were working together to hunt down the last of the scattered werewolves. With the three of them splitting up to search individually, and thw two vampires using telepathy to communicate over long distances, the work went quickly.

Armin climbed up onto a roof to scout the area and was a little surprised when Frederick appeared beside him.

'Have we gotten them all?' asked the younger vampire without preamble.

Armin shrugged. 'No idea. I think Wendigo is chasing the last ones.' As if on cue, an earth-shaking roar of triumph echoed across the city. 'Yep, he definitely is.'

{Jerry hobbled over to the chair and sat down.} "Yup...."

{As Armin and the rest were finishing up, the other hydra, Titan, walked over to them with a dead dragon in his hands.} "You missed one." {He said, casting its lifeless body aside.}

'Yeah... I didn't know the non-humans used guns, but apparently they do.' The doctor quickly inspected the wound. 'Doesn't look serious. You're pretty lucky; it didn't hit anything vital.' He gave Jerry a shot of anesthetic, strong enough to numb the pain but not render him unconscious. Then he set about cleaning and bandaging the wound. 'So, how did it go out there? Is the battle over?'

'Oh, really?' Armin looked surprised. 'I could have sworn there weren't any left.' Just then, Wendigo also came over. He was soaked in blood from the neck down, and grinning nastily.

'I finished off the werewolves,' he announced. 'Did we get 'em all now, Titan?'

{Jerry blinks a few times from the sedative.}"Whoooaaah, I'm tripping balls, man....Battle? Yeah we won...But Sargon if Akkad escaped with his personal lap dancer...We gotta find him and kill him and keep killing him....."

"Looks like it." {Titan replys.} "We need to get off to the Sovereign and finish this. "

(Yyyyup, ''loopy as a poisoned Maldius''. XD)

'They escaped? Well, I'm sure you'll find them again,' said the doctor calmly. 'After all, from what I hear, they can't go back to Shacklestone.'

Just then, Ivy entered the medical room, looking around curiously. Another doctor approached her, and she waved them away, saying she wasn't injured.

(Dianne: "Yeah, right. Exactly what has he done for us non humans? Massacred hundreds of innocents and given us all a bad name? All I see as a result of his campaign are the corpses of three hundred of our kin, blindly led to slaughter by his hand. He's no leader. He's a fool and an imbecile, nothing more."

'So, we can go now? Thank god.' Armin jumped down from the roof. 'I'm tired to being in this place.' Frederick leapt down beside him.

Wendigo snorted with laughter and hit Titan on the shoulder. 'Awesome, man, let's get going!'

{Titan just gives Wendigo a smile. Before anyone can move, Steve runs up.} "Hey, where's Dianne? We need to go! My brother just called, said Sargon's army was destroyed, but he and Ana escaped and Eliza's hurt! I need to get over there!"

Frederick was the quickest to react. 'We may not have time to find Dianne,' he said. 'We need to get to Sovereign City as fast as possible. Can Wendigo and Titan take us over there?'

{Titan looks at everyone.} "She won't be happy if we all leave her behind. Wendigo, you go. I'll stay and find her. We'll be right behind you.}

{Jerry if far too high to be taken seriously now. He just continues to ramble as the doctor works.}

'I'm going with Wendigo, then,' said Armin. 'I want to know what's going on over there.' He looked up at the hydra, who nodded and crouched down low so that Armin could climb up. Frederick, meanwhile, was considering.

'Would you prefer that I stay with you or go with the others?' he asked Titan. 'I don't mind either way.'

Ivy settled down on a nearby chair that nobody had taken yet, still gazing around the hospital. Every now and again she would glance at Jerry in a mixture of concern and amusement.

{Titan looks down at Fred.} "Stay then. Go when Dianne's ready."
{Steve wastes no time jumping on Wendigo's back.}
"Let's go!"

With an earth-trembling roar, Wendigo took flight. He left the streets behind with a few powerful flaps of his huge wings, and within moments they were on their way towards Sovereign City.

Frederick stayed on the road below, watching the hydra disappear.
