SO FREAKING CUTEEEEE

Kiyomi's birth parents are both deceased and she has no memory of them. Takeshi was her mother's childhood friend. He loved her dearly and she loved him as well, though in an entirely different way. She ended up marrying their mutual best friend and Kiyomi is their daughter. However, one night their village was attacked. Kiyomi's parents managed to get a messenger falcon to Takeshi, alerting him of what was happening. He mounted his horse and immediately made his way back to the village. When he arrived it was too late. His best friend and the woman he loved were dead. Her mother died clutching Kiyomi in her arms. Kiyomi had been stabbed, her breath was shallow, her body limp and drenched in blood, in her mother's arms. Takeshi moved quickly and tended to the child's {who was not even a year old yet} wounds.

His heart was broken as he looked out over the remains of the destroyed village, Kiyomi in his arms. Though this wasn't the first time his eyes had seen such carnage, in fact many times he was the cause of it, this time it was very impactful. This was the life of a warrior. Death, destruction, and loss were not only apart of, but seemingly the essence of their life. Or so he always thought. He set blaze to the remainder of the village, leaving no trace of what once was, and left the village for the last time. From then on he raised Kiyomi as his own. She absolutely adores him and wants to grow up to be just like him. He cares for her deeply and has vowed to protect her with his life. Raising her has been an adjustment for him, but it's begun to change the way he sees life. He's hesitant to allow her to live the same lifestyle he has. The life of a warrior.
