In MGS: Peacewalker there's a mission given to Big Boss (eyepatch Snake) to hunt a Tigrex and/or a Rathalos. Felynes and velicoprey are there too.
Monhun Portable 3rd has a few mgs related events quests that reward you materials to make armor resembling the Boss(f) or Big Boss(m), or you can make Solid Snake armor for your palico. There's also a quest to hunt a monster called Gear REX that is a reference to Metal Gear REX
