Haha, well I wasn't using a reference image either. That usually helps me a great deal when I'm painting. I think I'm learning the ropes, if not a bit slowly. I'm also more educated with drawing rather than painting so I'm still in fairly new territory here. But Colors! is a great app that really helps you improve, especially with its really talented userbase. So far my gallery really only consists of whatever art, but I hope to change that someday with more practice.
