Somewhere Else by Reindeer-King
Somewhere Else is a shadow/limbo world Dark Brink created at the peak of his power.
Access to this dimension can only be done by the spirit himself and select few of his proxies (note that Mortikai can only access this while possessed by Dark Brink). This dimension is a perverted recreation of the Sanctuary, where Dark Brink traps vital beings to his plans and to his demise.
The blobs of light hanging in the sky are Lost Souls, beings who have been transported there and eventually killed off by Dark Brink or his proxies, when they no longer serve a purpose. Usually, these prisoners are points of manipulation to keep his proxies loyal. Those who are not Lost Souls or proxies do not age, but are doomed to roam the lands until they are killed or are somehow rescued from this plane of existence. These are usually refered to as Wanderers. Occasionally, if a Wanderer holds too much power, they will be put into a sleep-like stasis similar to becoming a Lost Soul, however their mortal body is retained.
Occasionally, angels will roam the Somewhere Else, attempting to pull out Lost Souls before they are lost to the dark power, however this does not always work. Dispair was lucky.

But seriously, I love the amount of detail you put into things like this. It's cool to learn these little things about the Brinks, you've obviously put a lot of thought into them. X)

Mintleaf is the mate of Shadowsneak and mother of Catacus
