It was hot, the sun was shining mercilessly as a young woman slowly woke up from her slumber. Confused of where she was or what had happened she looked around. All she could see was sand, the blue cloudless sky and the sun burning down. It was then that she noticed a ship not too far from her, immediately giving her all kinds of thoughts like what was it doing here? How did it get here and how did she get here? But her thoughts were interrupted when she noticed a figure a bit farther away sitting in the sand. Curious but cautious she made her way over.

Eve too busy cussing up a storm to notice Melora. She was still wrapping her leg with bandages she had stolen earlier.

"This is absolutely ridiculous..." She mutters to herself, sounding frustrated. The young Jamaican wipes the sweat from her forehead. She wasn't enjoying the extreme heat at the moment.

Seeing the other woman having some trouble as she appeared to be injured, Melora carefully spoke "Hey, are you alright? Do you need help?" Though it was rather Mel who could need the help, not knowing where she was or how she got here after all.

Eve looks up at Melora. "I'm fine..." Eve averts eye contact as she rejects Melora's offer.
"I'm fine..." She whispers. She begins to stand up, but yelps when a wave of pain travels from the tips of her toes to her upper body. She knew she needed help, but she refused to accept that fact.

"You really don't look like you're fine" Mel sighed heavily, since she wouldn't trust strangers herself and would refuse help. But in this case it would be better to accept it. So maybe the best start would be to introduce herself. "My name is Melora. And who might you be?"

"I'm... I'm Eve Green..." Eve replies. She rests her hands on her lap.

Eve peers over her shoulder. She could see the heat wave in the air, & the ship wooden ship in the distance. The sound of the ways crashing against the shore, than being pulled back... It was calming, but alarming at the same time for some reason...

After a moment of taking in her surrondings, she inhales deeply in defeat. "So... How'd you end up here?" She raises an eyebrow as she eyes Merola's tail.

The sudden question caught her off guard. "How did i end up here indeed?" She looked back at the ship and sighing lightly "The last thing i rember was boarding a ship but then...hmm...i guess it must've crashed here" She looked back at Eve, her tail slightly swaying from side to side "But where is here? Were you on that ship as well by any chance?"

"Yeah, I /was/ on the ship..." Eve starts, checking herself for anymore wounds. "Annndd I was to-- I mean..." She stops, recollects, & says, "I fell off the edge of the ship..."

To Eve's delight, even found no more open cuts on her body. A few scratches & scrapes, but that's all.

The ship, whichhad been slowly tilting on it's the side throughout Eve's & Merola's conversation, let out a low creaking noise. It lasted for about a minute, & than stopped.

Eve stares at it. She gulps as she does. She hadn't seen any other survivors since she had came here... She was beginning to think there was none, besides them. Though, this was still a possibility of someone else turning up.

"Well there goes the ship...i doubt we can use it to get out of here, though we should at least find a way to get out of this heat" Melora looked up towards the sky with her hand shielding her eyes from the light. "Can you walk or will you let me help you now?"

"I guess I don't have much of a choice, do I..." She says, looking a bit upset about the situation. She's never needed anyone to help her with anything for a while, even just small things like favors. She had gotten so used to independence, it felt weird to ask for help.

"Can you... help me up..." She asks, loud enough for Merola to hear, but quiet enough to be considered a whisper.

Melora smiled to herself, happy that the girl finally gave in and accepted her help. "Of course i can" She squated down, took Eves arm around her shoulders and put her own arm around Eves waist to carefully pull her up and support her. "This will do, but now is the question...where to go? In this desert or wherever we are i doubt we'll find any place of protection from the heat and sun"

"Well, I think there's a nearby city close, about 2 miles from here... I think it's called Bel'lieet...? I was supposed to be going there to do some business before, y'know, this all happened..." Eve tiredly chuckles.
Eve wraps her arms around Melora's shoulder tightly, not too tightly, to secure herself.

"That's quite the walk, i hope we'll be alright" Melora didn't bother question anything now since the most important thing was to get Eve to safety. "Lets go then" They slowly started their way towards the nearest city.

Eve nods in agreement with Melora. She knew how long a mile was, especially on foot. She looks around, searching for aomething to talk about, but gained no help from her surrondings. Around them was just sand and more sand. She was pretty sure that wasn't an interesting topic. She was about to stop searching, and prepared herself for pure boredom for the next few hours when Melora's tail caught her eye again. She watches it as it waved back and forth in the air.
"So, if you don't mind me askin'.... what exactly are you supposed to be?" Eve perks up.

Melora wasn't surprised at that question being that her type of creature is rather rare and they used to stay hidden from other beings. She took a deep breath before answering Eve without looking at her. "My species is called Vyfre. I guess you've never seen one which is not surprising."

(I'm sorry, i passed out and also sorry for inconsistent replies but i'm working on a few issues with my new router at the moment)

"Yeah, I don't think I've ever seen your kind..." She says, nodding. "There must be a small amount of ya still around, right?" Eve adds, as she feels her eye lids started to grow heavy. She yawns a bit, but doesn't give in to her tiredness just yet.
By this time, the boat had turned on it's side completely, and was making its way into the deepest part of the sea. It while it sank, it groaned again, releasing the same creaking sound that had heard before.

Melora let out a heavy sigh, she wasn't quite sure how many of her kind were still out there, that was part of the reason she went on that boat in the first place, to venture out and find more of her kind. But she wouldn't want Eve to worry about that. "We are very good at hiding from others and stay hidden. Though i did hear of some looking to fight everyone who is different than us too...maybe it's better you never seen one before"

"Eh, I guess so," Eve shrugs. "Though, I wouldn't mind brawling with your kind. I like to have a good fight every now and then." For a moment, Eve smirked, but that smile soon disappeared when she realized something: Her scythe was missing.
She runs her fingers through curly hair, looking slightly annoyed but mostly stressed. She knew that she would have to go on without it, but she couldn't help but feel a bit guilty knowing it was a weapon that had been in the family for so long.
Up ahead, beyond the vast fields of sand dunes, the city Eve had spoken about earlier could be seen. It was far away, far away to the point that it looked like a white speck in the middle of the desert, but Eve knew it was Bel'lieet.

"Bel'lieet's up ahead, in the far distance..." She whispers, pointing south west.

Melora couldn't help but chuckle, Eve sure was an insteresting being. "You think about fighting my kind even though you are already hurt and should think about recovering first?" It didn't go unnoticed that something must bother the girl as Melora glanced over to her. "Are you alright? Is the pain getting too much? It's still pretty far..."

"Are you sure? You can tell me if you can't walk anymore, i could easily carry you the rest of the way" Meloras attention turned towards the large creature infront of them, swollowing hard as she nervously eyed the creature for a moment before it luckily started to walk off without attacking. A fight is the last thing the two of them need now. "I...have no idea...but at least it doesn't seem to care about us..."

"That was weird..." Eve says. "And, I can walk the rest of the way, I'm good... I'm just thinkin' about someht..." Eve's answered. Her corner of her mouth twitches a bit, which was one of the signs only her closest friends knew-- she was lying. She didn't want to talk about the scythe, or why she was really going Bel'lieet. There were too much personal matters that was going on with Eve, and she didn't want to drag Melora down with her into it.

"It sure was but i guess we got lucky and survived, not sure if we would still stand here if....whatever it was...attacked us" Melora slowly continued walking towards the still small white dot in the distance they were heading towards, but she could feel the heat slowly getting to her. She wasn't a big fan of heat in the first place but her kind is especially sensitive towards warm weather and prefers colder places or forests. "I hope...we make it to the city...soon..." her tone of voice showed by now how exhausted she was.

"It's just a bit farther..." Eve says, looking at Bel'lieet. The closer they got to it, she was able to make out more of the city such as the capital building and a couple of tiny dots-- the citizens of the city-- strolling around. They all seemed to be crowding around something, but Eve couldn't see what it was.
"Jeez, you're sweating a lot..." Eve points out. She knew it was hot, extremely hot, but just seeing Melora dripping with sweat was enough to be noticeable by anyone.

"Ugh...i'm sorry..my kind doesn't take too well to heat..." she quietly replied. It's true, heat makes a Vyfre lose a lot of water through sweat and they dehydrate easily. She needs to find some water soon or she'll be done for. "At least we almost made it to the city..."

"Yeah, and when we get there, I'll take you to see one of my partners. He'll us stay at his house. You can cool down there and eat some some grub, if ya want." Eve offered. She wanted to repay Melora in anyway she could. It wasn't like you get saved by a total stranger everyday, besides, Eve felt Melora totally deserved it.

As they near the city, the aroma of various foods filled the air. "Ah, the smell of Bel'lieet: Meat and curry. That's all the folks make here, though, they have other dishes that you can try." Eve tells Melora.

"Oh...are you sure it's alright for a complete stranger like me to just stay with you?" She was still a bit sceptical about it though the thought of finally cooling of and getting something to eat and drink sounds too good to pass. As soon as they finally entered the city and all the aroma surrounds them, Meloras ears started to twitch excitedly. "It smells so good...i really do like spicy food actually and meat...you could say my kind is kind of the predator type" She grined at Eve, revealing her sharp fangs for just a moment. "Now where does your partner live?"

"Yeah, it will be fine. Darius loves company. And besides, after you helped me get through part of the desert, I owe you one for sure." Eve assures, pointing to the seventh floor of an apartment building. She says, "C'mon, that's where he lives, up there."
The apartment window that Eve had pointed out had a bunch of flowers and a couple of birds on the phone line next to it.

"Alright, how could i say no to this then?" Melora happily nodded at the girl before making her way towards the apartment building, following Eves directions to get to the right floor to knock on the door.

Eve chuckles at her response. The two of them make their way to Darius' door. "Here it is, room 709..." Eve announces, and softly knocks on the door. After a few seconds of waiting, the door opens a bit, and they are greeted by a little girl. The girl stares at them with both her shining eyes, one of them being blue while the other a amber color.
"Papa, Auntie Evie is here with some girl!" The little girl yells, and backs away from the door. The door soon extents fully opened to reveal a man with a scruffy beard a long black wavy hair. "Ah, Evelyn!" He grins, looking at Eve. "It is so good to see you!" He continues, hugging Eve, and playfully punching her arm.
"Yes, it is." Eve replies, and looks over at Melora. "Oh, by the way, this here is Melora. She helped me get here through the desert after I had a little accident. A real life saver, heh." She glances down at her injured leg while Darius nods his head.
"Well, it quite nice to meet you Ms. Melora." Darius moves to the side, inviting them inside.

Melora watched as the door opened by a small girl before she was calling for someone else Eve then interacted with. Mel stayed quiet for the most part until Eve introduced her to the man. "It is also very nice meeting you, but i just did what was right." Melora felt a bit embarrassed, she wasn't used to getting compliments or any attention for that matter. But this feeling quickly changed when her legs almost gave out and she had to steady herself on the wall before slowly making her way inside after Darius invited them in. "I'm sorry but...could i maybe get something to drink? I could really use something now"

"Oh, oh, yes. Just sit down over by the couch while I get you a drink!" Dariius replies. There was a hint of urgency in his voice as he rushes into the kitchen to grab something from the fridge. Eve hops towards the couch, to avoid further injury, and plops right now. She sighs in relief.

It didn't take Darius long to come out with four cold water bottles. "Here, you two mist be so parched after walking through that desert," He says, handing Eve and Melora the waters. He sets the other two down on the table.
In the next room, the girl that answered the door plays with folld and toy planes. She makes playful sounds as she runs around, holding the airplane in her left hand. Darius smiles at his young daughter, chuckling a bit. He then turnd his attention back to Eve and Melora as he takes a seat on a seperate chair.

Melora did as she was told and followed Eve over to the couch, finally sitting down and getting some rest. She sighed in relief, stretching her arms and legs for a moment before happily taking the bottle of water and gulping all of it down in one sip. "AH!~ That was just what i needed. For a moment i thought i would be done for" She looks at Eve and Darius for a moment while thinking to herself for a bit. "So..umm..maybe i should go, i don't want to bother you and i still need to figure out how to get where i was heading"

"Oh, alright then..." Eve says, sitting up. "Do you need a ride or anything?" Darius offers, getting up & walking over to a desk nearby.
On the desk was car keys & stacks of suspicious blueprints for various buildings. Darious grabs his car keys & holds them up. "I can get ypu thee pretty quick if you're going somewhere far..."

Melora was actually not quite sure where to go to next and how far it would've been since she is new to this part of the world. "I am actually not quite sure where to go...i'm not very familiar with any town names or anything for that matter...i came with a ship from a pretty far away continent..."

"Well..." Eve starts. "Hopefully your memory isn't too muddled to rememeber."

"Well, do you know what you want to do? Were you here to talk to someone, meet some friends....? Go on vacation?" Darius asks, walking passed the the girls towards the kitchen.

"Daddy, daddy, look at my plane!" Irvy says, showing Darius the toy. The toy plane was white with blue stars on it. On its side, it had "Darla Sky" written in gold cursive letters.

"What a pretty plane for a pretty girl!" Darius smiles, tickling Irvy as she shrieks with giggles. The young girl then runs off to continue playing.

All those questions made Melora grew even more quiet as she turned her head to the side, her hands gently holding onto her arms as if hugging herself. "I don't really have any friends...or anyone i could go to for that matter..." She quietly spoke before letting out a sad sigh.

"oh..." Darius breathed. He couldn't help but feel slightly guilty for asking those questions. "It's okay if you don't have friends or anyone to come see."
"Yeah, it's totally fine to not have friends Melora. Being a lone wolf has it's perks.," Eve chimes in. "Like, when you have friends, they may only /claim/ to be your friends even though their back-stabbing you all the time, pushing you around, and leaving you with absolutely nothing all in the end." Eve continues. As she spoke of this, Eve's hands ball up and her voice became sharp towards the end of her reasoning. She was obviously hiding her anger.

Darius stares at her for a second before saying, "Evelyn, are you okay?" Eve looks up at him and forces a smile. "I'm fine..." Eve replies, looking the other way as she furrows her eyebrows. "Well, uh, I'm going to go cook dinner. Maybe you'll figure it out by than...." Darius excuses himself, and slips out of the living room into the kitchen.
