TW again since i'm talking about it in desc too:
-----
I wish i could say this wasn't directed at anyone but I've seen this with 2 users on here. At first I didn't want to stir things up but this needs to be said since its gotten very bad:
You can't always expect kids online to magically solve all your problems with comments. At some point, you're gonna have to get help yourself. It's hard but you'll have to. If you are self harming, you need to get help and try to stop. (cont)
The Colors! Gallery moderators will look at it as soon as possible.

Self harm ISN'T: cute, trendy, cool, healthy, etc
Self harm is: An issue, an addiction, a serious problem, life threatening, etc.
I myself struggle with this. I know its hard to quit but you need to try. Call a suicide hotline, vent to a personal friend or trusted adult, look for healthy coping methods, talk to a doctor.
As hard as it is, you shouldn't glorify and feed into it. You can't expect that posting about it casually and worrying everyone to death will help either. I'm not even talking about vent drawings, i'm talking about casual posts. That isnt ok nor will it ever BE okay. (cont)

Don't post about it JUST to worry people. Not all of you with this problem do this, but you can't deny that there are a few of you who do in fact do it to gain empathy from others. I'm talking to the minority of self harmers here. I had a friend who did that. And lets just say i wasnt friends with them after finding out they lied a lot about it and admitted they did some of it, in fact, for attention.
Don't treat your friends and followers like that if you do. thats manipulative and cruel and selfish. The fact you have to make them worry so you can feel happy is really sad. Especially considering how they really want to help and want to make sure you're okay.
Just stop.
That being said, i hope this rant wasn't bad since i cant rant for crud. I hope you guys going through a hard time will get past your issues

I'm really only talking to the vocal minority here. A majority of you who do this I do realize that you're going through things. But whether you're minority or majority make sure to tag when graphic and try to get help to stop. Decency is important.

It's really horrible because a lot of it is manipulative
People try to get attention by faking or threatening self-harm, or act like someone is lucky to have depression. It's not something to be jelous of! these people make me sick

i agree. it's so gross how some of it is for attention, or it dels with subject matter unsuitable for children.

As someone who almost lost a sister to suicide, you have no idea how much I hate how trendy it is to try something serious as depression as a way to get attention and pity comments.

Bro I literally went to reset my password and log into colors for the first time in a good year just to support this... I can't begin to express how infuriating it is when people (especially folks from this community, which is predominantly children) romanticize this stuff for attention. It's one thing to vent, but if it's the same photo of a slit wrist with flowers and glitter and whatnot posted twice a week with the same pitiful, guilt trippy messages, there's kind of a problem lol
