Its been a long time... by Witzke

Five years...
I remember when Hatena ended, and the confusing emotions I felt that day. I felt upset, and unsure of what would happen next. But I couldn't help but have hope, somehow. I wanted to feel sad, but I knew that my adventure wasn't over yet.

Its amazing, looking back at that old site, and remembering the memories. I do miss that site a lot, but I'm happy it ended, because it opened up all new doors. Since that time five years ago, I've gone through many, many trials. You might be surprised if I told you them all. It wasn't always easy. But looking back at all of it now, I'm glad, because it helped me to grow as a person. I miss the simplicity and easiness of the old days, but Hatena wasn't the one having fun, it was me..us. And though we may all be older, and have lost that site, that doesn't mean we have to lose ourselves. You guys have given me even more fun than I had on Hatena.

Hatena was a real blessing, because it opened me up to you guys, and opened me up to even more creativity. But it ending wasn't the end of my childhood, it was the begining. God Bless you all. Lets use this time to remember the things that made us who we are, and to know that because we had those good times, we can make these new times even better than those

I really wish I had been able to experience it, along with other things.

I've never been on Hatena, but I can kinda relate to this.

I never used Flipnote Hatena, but I often seen amazing artwork by many users of the site/app. Flipnote was the best animation app of its time. Now we have newer apps/sites that have better, newer options.
I'm very glad to have gotten to know you, bud. I hope to see many more comics, and I also hope you'll see more of my art, too.

Re: Thanks! I try to add extra jokes where reasonable to make my somewhat-infrequent work more worth the wait. Little bits like Nah saying "Nah" in my recent Fire Emblem comic that don't take a lot of extra effort help a lot, in my eyes.

Always interesting to think back to the Flipnote days, especially in tracking how those older ideas have influenced later work.

Oh my gosh, I can't believe it has been five years already. Flipnote Hatena was what introduced me to the world of digital arts and animations as well as OCs, and is ultimately the reason why I'm here on the internet today.

I wouldn't be here or on any site if it wasn't for Flipnote Hatena.

It may be gone, but it will never be forgotten.

*sniff*

I miss the Hatena days, back when people made amazing animation on a DSi rather than making repitious and annoying "Animation Memes" on expensive tablets and industry-standard Adobe software.

I miss Hatena too. I was only ever a "spectator" there, as I was convinced I couldn't draw back when it was up. However, I loved seeing the animations that were being posted there.

Although Hatena is gone, we were always more than just users of a website. I'm glad you've grown through all of this, and I'm sure you will continue to grow.

I guess for me, growth came through finally trying to find an outlet for my creativity. I went from being a silent guest on one site to being a contributing member on another. I'm thankful for this (relatively) newfound hobby, for the experiences I've had here, and for the people I've met.

God bless you all.

(Almost) everything you said is pretty much what happened to me, other than me crying like a baby when it ended. I'll miss that site, but I moved on. even if there was a new Hatena, well honestly, i don't know what to think.
