Laying open castket was Serah. She was actually gone. It never fully sank in far Akara until he saw her laying there motionless. He looked at everyone who came and everyone who was actually there at the battle. He held his head as flash backs of that fateful day played throughout his head.
The sky was a light grey as clouds covered it like a blanket. It was no longer pouring as it was when they were on the boat returning to Citrine. They were just there. The castle the gardens and the ceremonial Chambers were all open to the public today. For anyone who wished to come and pay there respects. Akara stood idley by welcoming those who walked through the doors.

(Bathroom break for the teacher. Ugh, I can’t wait til this class is over. X(. )

Lumen walked up beside the casket, his eyes blanketed with the loss of a fallen friend. Around his neck he adorned the Goddess's Voice, which only helped the grief sink in deeper. Absent mindedly, Lumen adjusted stuff on the table beside the casket. And with a sigh, he approached Serah's body, bowing his head in respect to her sacrifice.

"This is to honor you Serah....I hope that your resting is peaceful..."

Claudiesa had spent time searching the town for specific flowers before returning to the castle.
There was already a gathering of people, familiar and new, entering the castle doors to pay respects to Serah.
She entered through the big double doors.
Those who new her nodded a silent greeting while those who didn't gave her lots of space and whispered to eachother as to who the tall scary woman came from.

Claudiesa spotted Akara and gave him a nod as she made her way to Serah's casket with her bouquet of flowers in hand.

Vaigh arrived a solemn expression upon his face. The gravity of the tragedy was not loss on him. Their last remaining ties to the Goddesses had been severed. Adding to that weight was the knowledge of an innocent young life had been cut short. Remaining composed in appearance, his blood boiled within him. His hatred for the Erulians grew ever stronger. He stood in front of her casket bowing in respect of her life and the gift she gave to this world.
Desolah not one for large crowds couldn't help but be drawn to this grand display of death. She couldn't help but wish to see it for her own eyes. A part of her was saddened but deep down she held a bitterness towards her for being free of this life, able to die. A privelege she herself had been stripped of. She moved along the edges of the room cloaked within the shadows.

Lumen turned around at the unmistakable sound of armor clattering, his eyes raised to see the hrlmet of the Vepuran Ruler:Claudiesa. Lumen bowed in greeting, his face stricken with the grief of not just his own, but the others as well.

"Milady, I owe you a great deal for retrieving her....This all would not be possible if you had not been there....And for that, I am greatful."

Akara looked over to where the casket was and saw Lumen talking to Serah. He smiled slightly as he saw his friend and advisor was holding up better than when they initially arrived. He then made note of Claudiesa and the beautiful bouquet of flowers she had in hand. He gave her a wave of hello before he saw her go to the casket as well.
As Aludra said hello to him he smiled "nice meeting you as well" and he saw her off as well. He continued to stay at the door for people we're still thinking in.

Kou stood, not yet entering. He was lost in his own thoughts, what else could've happened? How many ways could that have gone in a completely different direction. "We should've considered ourselves lucky..." he thought.
He glanced over seeing the faces of those walking by, their faces showed much emotion. The goddess's voice has passed.

"But at a cost..." he lowered his head.

He stood there as the winc blew his hair and by his face, as he remembered the day of the battle. Being around the table, with the Erulean Leader; Lumious. Anger coursed through his body, warmth bursted and moved through his chest until it dissapeared at his finger tips.

"As if they could change." He said quietly.

It wasn't the first time Erul had hurt someone. His homeland, once prospered, was in the cracked, starving and crime ridden state because of the previous Erulean King. And He understood that despite being allied with Citrine and Vepura, his beloved homeland may not survive.

Claudiesa saw Lumen come up beside her,sorrow all to evident on his face.
As Lumen bowed to her as he thanked her,she grabbed his shoulder dragging him into a hug and saying, "Lumen,after all that's happened you're a friend,you don't need to bow to me." she released him.
She held the bouquet up for him to see. There was no flower that was the same.

(is it weird I missed Kou alot? XD he's been one of my favorites and it's nice to see him again pfff also hiya heishiiii! Lol)

Lumeb was surprised by the sudden actions of the Vepuran Ruler. After he was released he nodded her way, his face relieved momentarily of the grief that had been bending it in a grimace.

"Th-thank you Claudiesa....I appreciate the kindness..."

The bouquet caught his eye with its beauty. It had flowers of varying sizes and colorsnof many shades and hues. It was majestic in its wild unsemmetrical way.

"Th-those are beautiful....I am sure Serah would be pleased....Thank you again..."

He didn't know what else to say. He could see everyone sad, but Akara and the others who battled were hurting. Both physically and emotionally.

Kou took his hand off of Akara's shoulder and spoke.

"Are you..." he was going to finish his sentence but, suddenly stopped, because he knew on Akara's face that he wasn't "Okay" as he would've normally ended his sentence, And no words or kind-doings could change that. Only time passing could seal the wound.

Akara jumped slightly as he was a bit startled being pulled out of his spaced out trance. "Ah hello Prince Kou- er.. ah.. You. Apologies I'm sort of out of it being quite honest." He smiled slightly but it quickly disappeared. "I'm as.. ok as anyone else who was there. It was almost a massacre and.. I felt-" he clentched his fist "I feel helpless.." he turned to You "How are you though my friend?"

Zeus nodded at her question. "I met her once on my travels, though we didnt talk much I appreciate every word she said to me. It was a brief meeting you know? But a meaningful one." He looked at Serah in her casket "I think you would of liked her"

Kohaku distanced himself from everyone, he's never done well at funerals. Always crying during them, sometimes even before he even enters one. And it's also the case here, despite never meeting Serah personally he still felt great sorrow overcome him. He crossed his arms. Hoping he won't break out in tears infront of everyone, like he has always done before.

Ollie stood near the casket, holding her hands together. She sighed, for once, the bubbly young girl who always wanted to start conversations and talk to people was silent. She knew there was nothing she can really say to cheer anyone up this time. She smiles sadly, and then steps away from the casket.

Kou stood silent. Because, he felt hopeless himself, it wasn't just the death of Serah, or the wounds him and his comrades suffered, but the thing that those were leading into; the war.
his country was still shattered from the war ten years ago, and with the up coming war, he couldn't see a way out.

But seeing the faces of those around himself, Kou said "I'm doing...fine....I'm fine."

Claudiesa nodded to his thanks.
As Lumen admired the flowers, she brought his attention to a cluster of four different flowers set in the center of the bouquet.
"You being very knowledgeable in many things may already know the meanings of these four already, but incase you don't I'll explain."
She pointed to a white lily. " These represent untaintable purity."
She pointed to a deep red colored rose. " Roses represent in Vepura not just blood but also sacrifice. It's often given to fallen soldiers."
She then pointed to a green sprig with white flowers with red peeping out of the center of them. " A rare colored variety of the Bleeding Heart flower. It represents the tragic death of a Innocent."
She went silent as she laid the bouquet down on Serah's chest.
She gave one last puff of flames from her helm in farewell.
"You're the second one to save me in battle. There shall not be a third." She vowed. " Your death will not be in vain. Rest well."

Akara nodded slightly at Kou's response. He could tell that he wasnt doing ok even though he said he was fine. "Kou.. my country has stayed neutral long enough.. if anything is to ever get better we have to start by fixing things. Even if it results in a full war.." he crossed his arms slightly "Just know Iclios has the full support of Citrine and most possibly the full support of Vepura as well though I can't say for sure. I'm also not sure about the other countries as well but I'm sure Amai leader if Afai would join our cause as well."

Kou unerstood Akara. Kou thought to himself, What does The Erulean King have in store that could take more than one country at once? At first the Erulean King seemed Bloodthirsty and Dim of intelligence by making such a bold move. But his confidence showed perhaps he had something up his sleeve, or he was bluffing. But Kou couldn't be certain. Surely Citrine would be a huge help, and the possibillity of Vepura and Afai joining would perhaps make winning inevitable.

"Thank you, Prince Akara. You have my gratitude."

Aria flew down to the ground in front of the burial reception. She didn’t really care for funerals, but she wanted to pay her respects. Using dark magic, she created a bouquet of black, white, and silver( don’t ask how she did.) roses.

Onyx was sitting across the street when he noticed a gathering for a funeral. “Oh, boy....” He got up and walked over to the funeral. “Might as well make my respects heard.”

Lumen lowered his head in understanding, a twinge of intrigue on his face that Claudiesa knew of flower symbolisms.

"Ah yes, I am familiar with this. It is very similar to the Elven Art of Fugashi Feng shui. I am impressed by your command of the language of flowers.... Florography is not as common these days."

With a forlorned expression, Lumen looked upon the other grieving visitors, to whom some were familiar, whilst others not so much.

"It is remarkable how many people have come to pay their respects...."

Onyx wanders through the crowd and gets to the coffin. He bows his head in respect. Turning to the lady who just placed one of her earrings on the body, he says, “It’s always sad when there’s a funeral. You have to feel sorry for the dead’s loved ones.”

Claudiesa stepped aside with Lumen as more people came to say goodbye.

"I learned a lot of it from my mother,she's a florist. But certain flower meanings are taught all over Vepura cause they've been present since early on in our culture, specifically the rose."

She noticed many recognizable faces at the casket, and agreed with Lumen.

"It is. Many are one's that never met her or know who she is. But the loss of life is worth grieving for and paying respects to even if you never knew the person."

After he's seen just about everyone who was coming enter Akara made his way to a podium that was up next to the casket. He held up a glass and looked over at the wave of people, both friend and stranger alike but under one roof to remember one person. He dinked the glass slightly to get the attention of everyone in the room. The noise echoed softly as chatter died down.
Akara cleared his voice before speaking “I want to thank you all for coming.. it probably wasn’t easy but nonetheless are grateful” Akara looked at Serah’s casket then back at the crowd
“Today marks a day in history that is definitely for the books.. People of all races.. from every corner of the land is gathered here for one purpose. To remember and lay down to rest a woman who was wrongfully taken from us..” he put the drink down and clenched his hands around the podium. “Some of you may only know her by story, The voice of the goddess, or friend; and from the bottom of my heart I thank you all for coming. I know it wasn't easy and it won't ever get any easier but, we won't let her sacrifice be in vain.” He looked down and hesitated before continuing. “Now few of us know what happened since we were there first hand. I'm sure few have their speculations but I'm going to tell you what exactly happened the day of her death. Only a few days ago Erul has declared war on our nation's. When I say Erul I mean it's new king. Lumious. Parties from Iclios, Citrine, and Vepura were there at his castle where he separated leaders from the group. We were in a room and he told us to surrender our titles.. and our lands to him. We all refused. We thought things were done but we were proven to be extremely wrong. As soon as we left the room we were greeted by Erulian Soldiers. They know who they are.. and they know exactly how deadly it was. It was at that battle where Serah had sacrificed herself in a blinding light so that we may be able to escape… and that is what brings us here today..” Akara gritted his teeth before standing up straight with the up most serious expression
“I Akara Prince of Citrine will accept this declaration of war, for I can no longer sit idly by. Citrine will no longer stay neutral and we will finally be stepping in to help those we could of helped long ago.” Akara stepped down from the podium.

Lumen watched Akara deliver his speech from the podium. He was proud of his master and how well he confucted his words. Lumen knew that Akara did not like what he had to say. But this solidified Lumen's trust and devotion in him. This was a shining moment of solidarity and stability in his master and friend, Akara.

Kou stood there while listening to Akara's speech. Kou was then thinking how horrible the last war was, and how Iclios has only been a decade out, only to enter yet another.

After Akara made his speech on the podium, Kohaku couldn't help but cry. He wiped his eyes. He was always over emotional. At least no one has caught him crying yet, he felt slightly glad about that.

Ollie stayed silent and nodded. She seemed slightly worried, "I kinda have a bad feeling about that" she mumbled to herself.

Lumen, after a moment of observing, decided the time was right and approached the podium. He was not one for speeches or being the center of attention but, this was an exception. He felt that he owed it to Serah to say something in remembrance of the one who ensured their escape.

At the podium, Lumen froze for a moment. Gulping audibly in front of all those staring at him.

"Uhhh...Ahem!...."

After placing her roses on Serah’s coffin, Aria wondered back to near Claudiesa. Hearing Akara’s speech filled her with rage at her former king with the force of a hurricane. “If anyone is going to get a chance to take a whack at that bastard, it’s going to be me with a really strong as hell thunderbolt!!!” She mumbled under her breath.

After a few seconds of silence, Lumen began his eulogy.

"Serah's eyes may have been unable to see the world like we see it, but her eyes saw something more.... She saw an age of peace, where we all would be free of the burdens of war for ages untold. She saw beauty in ways we could not imagine. Serah saw the good in the hearts of those around her. Seeing that which truly defines us. Not our Speed Wit or Brawn. Not our ethnicity or political standpoint. She saw who we truly were inside. She saw deep down in our souls, the remnants of the goddess Destria. And she warned us of the dangers ahead. Even when it would mark her as a traitor to her country."

"The short moments we had with Serah were sadly, not long enough for us to get to know her as much as we know each other. But, Serah, for the time she was with us.....Shared her compassion and serenity to us all. And the day we first met her, she made many friends. Even though she was under suspicion."

"Serah may have been with us for just two short days.... But she made friendships that will last a lifetime....
Memories to be cherished for millennias...
And relationships....That will endure death...."

After a moment of silence to let his words sink in, Lumen bowed his head and departed after saying: "Thank you all...."

She put a hand on Aria's shoulder, "You'll be the first in line I'm sure."

She went quiet as Lumen began to speak.

"Farewell my friend....Rest safe...You shall not be forgotten.."

And with that, Lumen bowed to her casket and joined the others.

“Believe me, I’m angry at that monster enough to blast 15 meters off the top of a mountain.”

She casted a little more dark magic and made another black rose.
“When I’m through with him, he’s going to understand the meaning of a black rose of Death.”

Akara bit his lip at the pain Lumen must be feeling. It hurt him to see his friend hurting and anyone else in the matter. Though his words hit him the most. He crossed his arms and looked away a bit and then saw a familiar face and immediately went towards him.

"With war now inevitable,and Lumious declareing war on all our countries,I believe it best we all ally together. I don't trust him. No one makes such a ridiculous declaration unless they have something up their sleeve. That or they're a fool." She was sure that there was something he had planned but what she was not sure.

"With Iclios's borders so close to Erul it's in danger of attack first. I wish to offer aid and alliance to Iclios and Citrine alike."

Taking the flower in his hand, Lumen nodded.

Lumen held the flower in one hand, and grasped tightly around the sacred necklace in the other.

I still ah.." Akaras hands started shaking and he took them off of Xenon "I'm still recovering myself..." Akara held on to his hand to stop it from shaking then looked over to the casket. "would you like to see her?.. "

Speaking slowly, Lumen replied after a brief pause, thinking on what Aria said.

"Some deserve death. Some do not. And she least of all.....If only she had let me trade...."

Lumen cupped the necklace before shielding it in his robes, firmly secure around his neck.

Aria smiled at Lumen. “From the little time I had been around her, I could tell she cared about you way too much to let you get your ass killed. She would rather have you live than to see you get killed or whatever trading you were talking about.”

Lumen saw not only Kou head to the podium, but also saw a close friend of his, Xenon, conversing with his master. At first he wanted to go over and join in, but he felt that it would be best to let them catch up. yheir friendship was rock solid.

"He will protect him.....When I can not...."

Lumen stared at Xenon as he said this. A look of confliction spread over his face. He wanted to be there for Akara, but soon came the time when he would have to leave his master's side to fulfill a mission. To keep a promise. But in foing so break another promise, the one he made to Akara that he would be there by his side to defend him. This all ate at Lumen's consciousness.

Lumen was snapped out of his heavy thoughts by Aria. He nodded quickly and replied.

"Yes....And that is why I must go forth and fulfill her final wishes.....I owe her not only this, but my life as well."

"If you were here and listening to the words of both The Prince of Citrine and his Advisor Lumen Candeo, you understand that war is upon us, and that a life precious to many, a life that stood as a tongue for the goddess has been lost."

Kou looked at the casket.
"Miss Serah..."

Kou continued
"There will be rough times, and many more lives, as precious as this one, will be lost..."

Kou paused and swallowed, and after a short breath, went onward with his sentence.

"But it doesn't have to be that way..."

He continued.
"I, Kou, Prince of Iclios have spoken with Prince Akara, and Lady Claudiesa of Vepura."

He continued.

"We have formed an alliance. A triad of countries, Citrine, Vepura and Iclios."

He took another breath, this one deeper, and longer.

"Together we will WIN this war, and protect the lives we love, owe to the lives who protected us,"

He looked over to the casket.
"And honor the lives, we cherished..."

Akara looked to the side and saw Nira putting down the flowers. He smiled at her, it warmed his heart to see her again though this was a very sad day. He watched her walk away and returned back to his conversation with Xenon.

Even if some didn't know her personally she was still well respected enough that almost everyone knows of her and what she could do which was speak on the goddess behalf. If one of your characters are spiritual in a sense they could join in on the sorrow of losing that connection with the voice and thus establishing reason of joining. ALSO it's an open funeral and all are invited <v< you could by all means join me and Human in a conversation with our characters Serrice and Zeus)

Short lived and strained, Lumen replied back with a brief smile. His eyes were glossed with tearings trying to well up. Yet he did succumb to his sadness, instead fighting back the tears.

With these thoughts, Lumen's temporarily bent into a nasty face of anger, which he quickly tried to hide.

Lumen looked to her with a pained expression, his face looked tired and worried. He was clearly not his usual self that day.

"Both actually.....You see, I know you and Akara care a great deal....About eachother....And you see, this is the reason I wish to speak to you. The war at hand will do a great deal to milord, and I fear it to be one of great length and ferocity."

Ajusting on the bench where they both sat, Lumen showed the sacred necklace around his neck to Nira.

Lumen averted his gaze again for s moment before looking back at Nira, a serious look on his face.

"I have decided to tell him after the funeral....That I will be venturing to Freia....But I must first be sure he has good people around him to care for him....And that is where you come in...."

Taking one of Nira's hands in his, he looked at her with a fiercely determined gaze.

"I need you to stay by his side....And keep him together....Keep him safe...."

My teacher told me once; even though you're afraid courage must always hold the reigns. Serah epitomized that that day. She is a hero that stands above many for without her many of us would not be here today, and I owe her my life, as do others."
She paused to take another breath before continuing.
"Even though we mourn her I feel that she would want us to be happy not sad," she put her hand over her heart,"Her fire burned brightly and shall continue to inside our hearts..."

Claudiesa had been grasping the podium tightly as she went through everything she said. She had a lump in her throat as she stepped down from the podium and went out the doors to the gardens outside to get some air and time to herself for it would be the last she would have for a long time.

"Then it's been for a very very long time it seems.. Freia has been void of life for a very long time and the only major source of any of it would be the Oasis capital. Let me see.. to give you a small concept of what I know is one of Eruls first rulers attacked Iclios and has made the country almost inhabitable for most. Eruls old King has also enslaved Hybrids by putting spell bound collars on them that would make them go beserk on command. Eventually the war stopped due to some complications I'm not too sure about and 10 years later it's been about the same.. but with Eruls new King.. honestly history is repeating itself.." Akara walked around the chattering people as they began to gossip more about what was happening to the world. Akara finally felt it was time to lay Serah to rest.
He rose his hand and as on cue harmonious music began to play letting the people know it was time to lay her to rest.

(Aka Final fantasy 15 love lost is a good song for this part- wot lolol)

Lumen hear the music and stood to his feet. He knew what it mean't and he immediatwly started forwars ao he was in proper vantage of the Casket.

Claudiesa heard the music. It broke her out of her sad reverie.
She made her way back just in time to see Serah be laid to rest.

After hearing the music, Aria jumped out of the tree and landed near Akara so she could get a better view.

Serah’s casket was closed and was lifted by people from every country. A flower veil was wrapped around the casket as a final gift and it began its journey, passing through the hands of everyone who attended. As a leaf would gently float across a stream Serah’s casket was floating across the arms of those who thought dear of her.
Her casket made it through everyone's hands and was carried out to the one place that someone like her belonged.
Outside the ceremonial hall was an open field dazzled in fire flowers that sparkled in the setting sun, a special place was marked with a goddess statue and there a hole. A trail of people all passing the casket down to the statue.
Finally, the casket was lifted and carefully lowered into the hole.
“It didn’t matter where you came from, what your pass was like or how you got here. What mattered were the memories and the future that you make for yourself. And if always look for the good in people as she did with us… Are there any last words anyone would like to say?” Akara asked aloud to the crowd, to his group of friends and loved ones.

Aria opened her mouth, saying, “Although I only met Serah for like a couple of minutes before all hell broke loose, I could tell she was a good person. Selfless, compassionate, and, above all, loyal to her friends. She may be gone, but she’s still watching us from the afterlife. So let’s make her proud.”

His face was once again sorrowful, he hated to see her go.

Claudiesa was one of the last to hold her casket helping lower her gently down.
She stepped foward.
"You'll be missed but not forgotten. I know you're watching over us. Rest well, Serah."
She finished and stepped away for anyone else who wanted to say something.

Lumen nodded in agreement. And although he thought the way the man worded it was a bit informal, he igknowledged it as a very truthful and heartwarming speech. Something worth honoring.

(Lumen knows that this man was trying to the mood. And although he knows that to be a futile quest, he knows Serah would have approved. And probably laughed xS)

As everyone finished their goodbyes and farewells the sun flashed as if the goddess herself was saying goodbye and the clouded skies began to drizzle. Unbeknownst to everyone who was there and grieving Serah was happier than ever cause all she wanted was us to come together.

Aria walked over to Akara, bowed to him, and magicked the bracelet she had made earlier onto his wrist. “A magic bracelet that will rebound any really hard attacks back onto your opponent without you getting harmed. Figured it might come in handy for the war to come.”

This was a good chapter. Sad yes but so good! :D
