It actually isn't Collecting Smiles' (Colors! creators) doing, you can type as many numbers as you want in a comment or description if you do it from colorslive. The number censoring is Nintendo's doing.
You can't type more than five numbers in a mii's name, a friendlist status, or anything that's Nintendo's.
^ And I bet numbers get censored on things on the Switch too. On the Wii U anything with more than five numbers got censored, even Sm4sh replay descriptions and nametags...
I really don't get why Nintendo does this, it /does not/ prevent friend code or phone number sharing. People can just spell out the numbers like "one two three four five six" and type as many as they want that way! The censors are pointless!

could also be connected to social security, phone numbers, dates of birth, pins, etc...
