i'm gonna give tutorial anyway

so you obviously know how to find ppl already right? basically out @username into the colors search bar
well there's other stuff too, such as tags!
a tag is basically something to help you organize your art if you put it somewhere in the desc. of said drawing (preferably at the very top)
for example, say you draw something kirby related? put #kirby at the top
see how you can tap it and go to different kirby drawings? :o
you can also make tags for your ocs too, as long as a tag isn't already taken by someone
for example, if you wanna make a tag for chrono, try using #MXChrono, or for nero, #MXNero
mx can stand for your name and if you put it at the front of your character's name in a tag, it can be used for drawings of that character if they have a common name
you can also make tags for other art stuff too! for example, my fanart tag is #eliplslook, and my best drawings tag is #elisbest
then, my tag for any ocs i draw is #eliisdrowninginocs

concerning tags again, you can't have spaces, dashes, underscores, or anything other than letters and numbers in them
for example, if you're gonna look up art of galacta knight (or tag a drawing of him with the tag), you need to say #galactaknight, not #galacta-knight, #galacta_knight, #galacta knight, etc.
because as you can see. it defaults it to #galacta
same for #metaknight, #bandanadee, #kingdedede, etc.

so im gonna focus on the filters now
the filters are a /lot/ more lenient than miiverse's, heck, you can even swear if you put . inbetween letters (example: sh.i.t)
i rlly don't recommend swearing tho because ppl can get whiny and report your comment to the admins, or they themselves can find it so um
(maybe delete these comments when im done talking lol)
also colors absolutely hates numbers :/
you can only say up to four numbers in a comment or desc. before colors will be like "omg ur giving away ur pho.ne nu.mber!!!!111" and censor /all/ the numbers in your post

speaking of comments, colors does not have a comment limit like miiverse did, but you can only see so many comments on a 3/2ds at once, and plus anything more than one hundred can start to get laggy when trying to access the comments
also, you've probably noticed that, again, unlike miiverse, there's no comment notif system for if someone comments on your posts, likes your posts, no notifs for anything.
so if you want me to see your comments, it's highly recommended you comment on my latest post rather than here (thoiwillcheckherealotbutw/e)
if you see somebody with "re:" in front of their comment when leaving a comment on someone's post, they're probably replying to that person
oh also, any and all comments not made on a nintendo 3/2ds system will grouped into "Online Comments", which you can only view with the internet browser or going on another device entirely

oh yeah comments also have a much larger character limit so we can be waaaay more descriptive in rps now lmao

so next lemme speak about the drawings!
you might see it already in this drawing of syn: the bright blue in the dood's eye has pixelated the other areas of the eye
i /ALWAYS/ recommend using more desaturated colors in some form to stop pixelization, nearly anything with full saturation causes pixelization in some way

also there's some neat things you can do with the layers and the opacity of the erasor
theres something called #acidart, which is basically what happens if you corrode a drawing's coloring by repeatedly fusing layers
to get it to work, you need to set your erasor to a mid - high (but not full) opacity, and erase bits of the drawing with said erasor (but making sure they're just barelyyyyy within existence still)
then copy that layer onto the above layer, and copy the above onto the lower one over and over until it's reformed and looks weird and corroded and stuff
so theres that :v

also be warned that the colors community is......
kinda depressing at times? people are rather open about their depression, sui.cidal tendencies, etc.
so just be warned about that
also there's a mature paintings option; if you have a drawing that is super duper /duper/ gory (like actUAL REALISTIC HUMAN MUTILATION OR SOMETHING HORRIFYING) then you need to set it on mature
also, explicit content (like nu.dity) should also go on mature-flat out po.rn /will/ get deleted tho
if you don't wanna see nasty stuff like that, then keep "Hide Mature Paintings" checked on the browser version of colors for your account

well uh
idk what else to say-
oh wait uh
how many paintings you can keep in the offline gallery can be dependent on your 3ds' remaining memory so i recommend deleting unecessary stuff if you wanna keep a lotta offline art
and about posting art.. you can only post 4 public drawings in a single day
which is a bit stupid imo but at least it prevents spam
