So, we're going to finish the Morty/Crowley/Vitis fight and then skip to next morning, since there's not much we can do until then.

I dunno if Draco will be here tonight, but maybe if we end up skipping to morning without moving the dog squad, then you can just skip them ahead to wherever they were going? Eh, I don't know. XD

Yeah, they just need to get together, since I was gonna have wherever they ran to be close to the gates leading out of the city

Crowley so she can be like "oh you're /so totally/ stronger than Mortikai mmhm yep" and Anastasia so they can bond over eternally devoting themselves to one guy (Sargon and Keenan)

The dark spirit bows, turning to walk away, though as he does so he feels a stabbing feeling in his stomach. Of course, it didn't hurt and was barely enough to warrant a flinch, but he could tell that it was inflicted against his right hand. Dark Brink wasn't too bothered though - he knew Mortikai had survived worse. He wasn't going to appear to him unless he called.

Sargon kept watching Brink until he had disappeared completely. Then, once he was certain that the spirit was gone, he picked up something from his desk and settled down to read. //I will call Dianne... soon,// he thought. //Maybe tomorrow.// He saw no reason to do it immediately; the bird draugr hadn't mentioned that she had any urgent need to talk to him tonight.

(Alrighty. I think I replied last with Crowley, so you guys can do Vitis/Morty if you like.)

Instead of dodging to either side, Mortikai instead rolls under Crowley's claws, feeling them graze across his back. He had initially forgotten that he had thrown his knife at Vitis, so against his better judgement he shifts into his lion form and latch onto Crowley's side, digging in with teeth and claws as hard as his swiftly tiring body could muster.

Crowley gave a yelp of more surprise than pain and attempted to roll them both over so he was on top, but Morty - in lion form - was too big and heavy for him to manage this. Instead, he started flapping his wings rapidly and snapping at Morty's neck in an attempt to force him to let go.

{Vitis grins and runs towards the pair.} “Y’all are transformed! Me too!” {With that, Vitis transforms into his massive serpent form and looks for an opportunity to attack.}

(Hey, you sure Sargon doesn’t want to call Dianne to pass the time?)

He's startled momentarily by Vitis' transformation, not expecting him to be able to shift into something so massive. This allows Crowley to get a few cheap hits in and get Mortikai off. With a slight growl, he retreats back, formulating a plan in his mind. He grins a little.
"Come on then, if you both think you can take me, come and get me!"

(A - Hm, yeah, there's no reason why he couldn't.)

After reading silently for a while, Sargon decided that he had nothing more important to do tonight. He pulled the phone out of his pocket and called Dianne as the bird draugr had instructed. //Perhaps we will learn some things from this,// he mused as he held the phone to his ear, waiting for her to pick up.

Crowley rolled to his feet, stumbling, and shook his head a little to clear it. A grin split his face when he saw that Vitis had shifted. 'Your turn, serpent boy!' he yelled. 'Go for it, if you think you can do better than me!' He jumped backwards so that he could watch the fight. 'Aw yeah, this is better than the action channel,' he muttered mostly to himself.

{Vitis lunges at Morty with incredible speed, starting from a coiled position.} “have at me, Pedo!”

{Dianne was still working when the phone rang. Picking up, she completely skipped over any and all formalities.} “Have you any idea what I was doing when //your// people attacked me? I get that we’re enemies now, but never have I ever met someone so eager to die.”

'Don't be ridiculous, Dianne,' Sargon replied in a perfectly calm tone. 'My people did not attack YOU. They attacked Armin and Jeremiah, because they were under orders from me to do so. I had no idea that you were on their side, nor that you would become involved in the violence.'

(Pssst, I'll probably have to disappear soon.)

"I'm not just talking about that!" {Dianne said with a snarl.} "You sent your personal //prostitute// to kill me! Over a false accusation! I thought we had a deal!?"

'I sent Anastasia to attack you because I was informed from a reliable source that you were the one who destroyed my food stores,' said Sargon, not reacting to Dianne's comment about Ana. 'The stores were destroyed by draugrs, and only /you/ have the ability to use draugrs. Or are you telling me that there is another powerful necromancer in this city who is working against me?'

(Hey guys, I'm going to head out now if you don't mind. We'll finish everything up another time. See you. X))

(Ok, see you later!) "I assure you, your 'reliable source' has deceived you. Who fed you these lies?"

Sargon raised an eyebrow at the question, though of course he knew nobody would see it. 'Brink,' he said. 'Dark Brink.'

"Dark....Brink?" {Dianne doesn't answer for a moment, as she's trying not to break the phone out of anger.} "//You// are working with that...that disgusting, child molesting, extra-dimensional hairball!? Well, no shit he told you it was me, he's //playing// you!"

'I'm assuming that you have a grudge against Dark Brink?' said the vampire in a dry tone.

(DB: *sticks head back through the wall* do I hear someone talking shit about me)

(Sargon: yes it's Dianne

"That's an understatement." {Dianne growls.} "Look, Sargon, Brink doesn't play sides and has no master. He's using you. He's a daedra who feeds off of chaos and misery, and since the begining, you've done nothing but feed him. Once you bear his mark, you belong to him, and him alone."

'He has been helping our cause. Perhaps he and I even wish for the same thing - Shacklestone to be a purely non-human settlement again.' Sargon paused, then added: 'In any case, why are you trying to warn me away from him? I find it unlikely that you care what happens to me.'

{Dianne chuckles darkly.} "Oh, you gullible fool. You are right about one thing, I don't care what happens to you or those who follow you, and because of what you've done to me, I'll see to it that every last one of you suffers dearly. It's Brink I can't stand, but he's not why I had you call. It's the curse we need to discuss."

'You needed to talk to me about the curse,' said Sargon flatly. 'Why? I hope that you still intend to recall it from the city, or very soon there won't /be/ a city.'

"Oh, there'll still be a city all right. It'll just be littered with the corpses of you and your men." {Dianne said matter of factly.} "Look, I do intend to recall it, but I can't do that while you are actively trying to have me killed. So here's how this is going to go: I'll be coming back, very soon, so you tell your men to withdraw from the city. I don't care where you put them, just keep them off the streets. If I go back, and see so much as a single werewolf or vampire, I'm out, and you can try to deal with this shit on your own. Got it?"

Sargon considered this for a long while. 'Fine,' he said at last. 'My people will be recalled to Atlas Tower and its surrounding buildings. However, you should know that even if you do encounter any of them, they are under orders not to attack you.'

Dianne: "Alright, I'm going to hold you to that. Don't screw me over with this deal like you did the last one or you're going to regret it very soon. Now, the next order of business. You said those men today were trying to attack Jeremiah and Armin, and not me. Tell me, why do you think they were with me?"

'What are you talking about?' he said. 'Why were they with you? Obviously, you are on their side and they were helping you recall the curse.'

Dianne: "So you knew they were helping me, and yet you still had them attacked? Bottom line, from now, until that curse is contained, you will not lay a finger on them, understand? If you attack them, then you attack me, got it?"

'If you side with my enemies, then you side against me,' said Sargon, sounding irritated for the first time. 'I should not have to inconvenience myself because of you, especially when /you/ are the sole reason this curse exists! And you cannot threaten to refuse to recall it, because if you did, then everyone else would die too, not just my people.'

"You forced me to their side the moment you sent that //wench// after me." {Dianne growled back.} "If you didn't want to 'inconvenience' yourself with me, you should have dealt with this like an adult, not some brat playing war! Yes, I've made some mistakes that ended up hurting people, but I'm going to act responsible and fix them. And I //can// refuse to help. If I wait a little longer, the only real casualties will only be your people, and once you're dead, there will be nothing stopping me from fixing this. You do things my way, or we don't do it at all."

There was a long silence down the phone line. Then Sargon responded, 'Fine. We do this 'your way'. Neither me nor my troops will attack you while you retrieve the curse, and nor will they attack anyone working alongside you. But as for what happens AFTER the curse is gone... I make no promises.'

Without waiting for an answer, he ended the call and put the phone down on his desk.

{Oooooooh, I think she made him mad. 0_0 )

{Dianne puts the phone down as well.} "Prick. I wasn't done." {She turns to her draugr guards, orders them to collect more biomass for her, then turns back to her work.}

(Hmm, nothing much for me to do at the moment. I'll wait around.)

Mortikai only just has the mental function to turn and try to dodge the lunge, quickly realising that in this form he was practically ten times bigger than what he was used to being and getting hit smack-dab in the side. Though what he lacked in speed he now gained in power, writhing to get into a position where he could grab onto the lethiathan serpent with his claws, finding hold between the scales. Twisting his head sideways, he attempts to bite into Vitis.

Crowley gave a loud whoop of excitement. 'Fight! Fight! Fight!' he shouted.

(Just to be sure, is Morty in Vitis' mouth?)

(I don't know I just kinda envisioned Vitis like....headbutting Morty for some reason)

(Imma gonna go with the mouth thing. That's how pythons naturally hunt anyway.)
{Vitis grips Morty harder in his jaws and lifts him up. Then, swinging his head around, he slams Morty into the nearest wall headfirst.}

Momentarily, he's stunned, his claws loosing their hold in the serpent's skin. There was definitely a wound there, he could feel blood start to mat his fur. As he regains function of his body, he scrabbles at the side of Vitis' mouth with all four paws, attempting to gain a hold and push his jaws off him to escape.

Crowley was starting to get bored. With Vitis and Morty locked in epic combat and him too small to get involved, he had nothing to do. So he decided to teleport on top of the giant serpent's head. 'Huh, it's a better viewpoint from up here,' he grinned, not caring that he could probably distract Vitis.

{When Crowley appears on his head, Vitis tightens his grip on Morty, eliciting a cracking noise from Morty's ribs. Then, throwing his head up into the air, Vitis tosses Morty vertically upward, giving himself time to speak.} "DammitCrowleygetoffmeIgottafinishthis!" {After that, vitis opens his mouth extra wide and strikes at Morty from below as he falls, looking to grab him up again.}

Crowley grabbed hold of Vitis's head feathers to keep his balance when the serpent tossed his head back. 'Haha! Noooope!' he cackled. 'I like it up here! And I wanna make things more difficult for you!'

While in the air, Mortikai twists around and manages to land with all four paws holding Vitis' mouth open, though with some difficulty due to his injuries and his tired state. He manages to hold his own though, letting out a low growl as he forces the serpent shifter's jaws to stay open.

{Vitis finds himself in a bit of a stalemate.Thinking quickly, he tosses his head to the side, throwing Morty off and into the nearest wall.}

Crowley let out an explosion of laughter. 'Nice one,' he cackled, still clinging onto Vitis's head.

Suddenly, there came the sound of wings flapping from above them. Wendigo, in his dragon form, flew down from the night sky and landed on top of a nearby building, with Frederick on his back. 'Hey!' the vampire called out. 'What's going on here?'

"Never you mind what's happening here!" {Vitis hisses at the newcomers.} "I'm just riddin' this city of another weirdo!"

(Aggron/King)

'And I guess you think that I'm going to stand by idly and watch you murder someone?' Frederick said coldly. He threw a brief glance towards Morty, then turned back to Vitis. 'Has this shapeshifter even done anything to upset you?'

"Yes." {Vits states.} "He attacked me first. And what are you gettin' on about, just standin' by while I murder someone? How is it any different from what happened here almost a week ago, when you jokers went about, killin' everyone? I sure didn't see you carin' enough then, so why do you care now?"

'That was business,' said Frederick. 'And it was my employer's decision, not mine. This is personal. And I am /personally/ not going to stand by let you murder someone in front of me.' Wendigo said nothing, but eyed both Morty and his two attackers with suspicion.

{Vitis narrows his eyes at Frederick.} "Oooooooh, I see, if I'm trying to kill a human, no one bats an eye, but the moment I go for a nonhuman, then suddenly, everyone's a good samaritan! Pretty racist of you if you ask me."

Crowley, who was still on Vitis's head, suddenly said: 'Hey, why do you care if he kills humans? Humans are stupid. Nobody cares about them.' He turned his yellow eyes onto Frederick. 'And keep out of our business! It's not up to you if I wanna fight someone!'

Wendigo snorted at that, and spoke for the first time. 'Come closer and I'll wring your neck, little birdy.'

Frederick ignored both of them and addressed Vitis directly. 'Obviously, we have no power to actually stop you from killing whoever you want. But I'd advise you to reconsider.' He was trying to keep Vitis's attention by talking to him, giving Morty time to slip away.

{Vitis glares at the two of them.} "Or what? Wat u gon do about it?"

Frederick raised an eyebrow. 'Well, perhaps if you're so hotheaded and eager to fight everyone, you could at least pick on someone your own size?'

Wendigo snorted and lowered his head, glaring at Vitis. 'Yeah. You could fight ME, punk. I'll give you a run for your money.'

'Hey! What about me?' Crowley yelped, but everyone ignored him.

{Vitis laughs, pretty much ignoring Morty now.} "You? Ahahahaha! Please, I'm twice your size! I eat punks like you for breakfast!"

Crowley gave a cackling laugh. 'You're craaazy, picking a fight with us,' he said, grinning up at the newcomers.

Wendigo didn't laugh. He bared his teeth and leapt off the roof, flying straight towards Vitis's face like a bullet.

{Vitis grins and lunges at Wendigo as he comes in. His jaws clamp down on Wendigo and he pulls him to the floor, wrapping around him like a python with a rat. }

In an instant, Wendigo had set himself on fire, orange flames rising from his body to scorch against Vitis's mouth and scales. 'Ha! I'm a fire dragon, you stupid punk! Try eating that!'

In the moment before Wendigo burst into flames, Frederick transformed himself into some kind of bird and flew up to the safety of a building.

{As Vitis felt the flames, he let Wendigo go and backed away writhing.} "AAAAAAAAHHHHH! I AM ON FIRE! IT BUUUUUURRRRRRRNS!"

(I just wrote a long-ish reply and my internet goofed and reloaded the page and deleted everything I wrote :'))))

(Oh, yeah, just an fyi, I likely won't be able to attend tomorrow's RP. Really busy day for me. Sorry. :( Go on without me tomorrow.)

(No problem Aggron. I'm not entirely sure if they'll be a proper meeting tomorrow anyway. Draco and I will be doing family stuff in the evening, so I'd be really slow if I attended.)

With Vitis and Crowley distracted by the newcomers, Mortikai takes this chance to limp away as quickly as his tired, injured body would allow him. He shifts back into his human form, finding it easier to lumber along on two legs rather than four. He makes sure he's a safe enough distance away before even thinking of taking a rest, stumbling into an abandoned house and crashing onto the nearest kind of seat. Taking a few moments to recover, he looks over his various wounds - broken ribs, stab wound still gently bleeding, along with other minor wounds.
"Brink."
He mumbles, expecting his master to appear.

Dark Brink was wandering the Tower, listening to conversations and exploring the extent of Sargon's armies. His ears stand to attention upon feeling his name being called, his form twisting and shaping into nothingness and reappearing to Mortikai, a sick grin on his face.
//You've had fun.//

"There's nothing fun about being stabbed then thrown about by a giant snake. Am I going to have to ask to be healed or are you just going to do it?"

//My my, such a temper. You should have used that in your little fight. Nevertheless, you will be healed eventually. I must conserve my power so I can give it to Sargon when the sun rises again. I can halt your bleeding, but the tending to your wounds must be done by another.//

"Where do you suggest I go?"

//Seek out a woman by the name of Pythia. She will aid you.//

"Perfect..."
Mortikai sighs softly, his tiredness quickly setting in.
"I'll find her in the morning. I'd prefer to stay...alone for a while."

//Of course, I'll leave you alone. I'll be around.//
It's grin curls before it dissipates again, leaving Mortikai alone to sleep his exhaustion and hurt off.

(Ah okay!)

{As Vitis recovered a bit from being burned, he suddenly looks about.} "Hey, where'd that weirdo go?"

Wendigo extinguished the flames on himself and moved back several steps, pausing to twist his neck around and lick his bleeding wounds.

Crowley gazed about. 'Huh. I think he's gone,' he said. 'That's weird. I never saw him disappear. D'you think he can teleport like me?'

Just then, Frederick flew back down to land by Wendigo's side, returning to his normal humanoid form as he did so. 'Give it up,' he said coolly to Vitis and Crowley. 'You've lost him. Get out of here and go about your business.'

(In the interest of moving the story along, I'm going to have Vitis give it up so we can finally time skip.)
{Vitis scowls at Wendigo, shifts back to human form, and walks off into the night.}

(I was hoping he would anyway.)

Frederick climbed onto Wendigo and the pair took off into the night sky without a word.

Crowley stared after his friend for a moment, then shrugged and said to himself, 'Wow, preeeetty salty.'

Instead of following Vitis, he wandered off in the other direction to look for a good bar.

(I'll put up a fresh room sometime later so we don't have to keep using this one. Until then, let's leave this here.)
