Symbols and Titles by Reindeer-King

While the symbols of the Brinks may hold some of their power, depending on where or when they're used (e.g. marking proxies, being summoned), there is more power in their names than anyone has realised.
And it's not just the twin spirits, it is anyone under the White Stag's rule that may have a symbol and title to their name.
From the Sanctuary to the leagues of proxies Dark Brink has accumulated, there are hidden titles to those who are most powerful, and marks to go alongside them.

The White Stag: King of All Creatures, the Protector of Balance
The names the originator holds is one that have been passed in his bloodline for centuries, from parent to child as they grow and take power over the Sanctuary. His mark is one that only appears on his kin - the deer shaped one above. On successors to the throne, this symbol will appear anywhere between five and eight years of age, however, if there are multiple children the marks will only reveal themselves when the chosen child is born, and on those who are not chosen the mark will appear to be a doe instead of a stag. For example, when Oliver was born, Oscar recieved his mark of the doe, signifying him as not being the heir.

-----

Dark Brink: Master of Malevolence, Protector of All Evil
The titles Dark Brink holds he has lived up to, spreading his darkness in his attempt to regain control in the Sanctuary and prove that he is stronger, though now he is more of a bringer of evil than protecting it from the light of his sibling.

-----

Light Brink: Bringer of Benevolence, Protector of All Good
While Light Brink is much weaker than her sibling, she serves all to the best of her ability. While she may not be able to save all those who wish for her, she will be with them and give them hope that she may one day return when she is stronger.

(Note: You all know how the Brink's marks get on people, becoming their proxies, that's why I didn't think to put that on.)

-----

The Champions of the Brinks, Mortikai Ondor and Dispair Darkyn
When not part of the White Stag's direct bloodline, being a Champion is the closest one can get to being so. The power the two hold lie not just in their bodies but in their names too, as the right hands of both spirits they have control over the other proxies under the power of their Brink. They are the only ones with enough power to rival that of the descendants of the White Stag.

-----

Oscar Farland: The Broken Prince of Darkness
Being marked for not being the heir, Oscar was especially susceptible to Dark Brink's bribes and soon got too ahead of himself, his thirst for power rivalling that of his master's and even bringing Mortikai's worth as a Champion into question, in order to take the position himself. Of course, anything that is broken can be fixed, but that's a story for another day.

-----

Oliver Farland: The True King and Final Heir
There's not much I can say here without spoiling most of the story ;)
But let's just say that in the events implied in Oscar's part above, a lot of things are revealed.

The Area Masters, Protectors of the Sanctuary
The symbols on the right side belong to those handpicked by the White Stag to defend the Sanctuary to their final breath, one from each of the sectors: The forest master, Lynford; The fire master, Heather; The water master, Finnick; The ice master, Marcien; The death master, Jeremey. These five defenders work with Oliver to protect the Sanctuary from harm, the marks they wear bearing special powers to defend and aid them in battle.

-----

The Army of Dark Brink
The symbols on the left side represent the different sectors of Dark Brink's forces - His Champion, Mortikai, his seers, the End, the children of his proxies (the blue mark), and those who Dark Brink has uncertain ties to. These marks do not lay on their bodies, as he feels as if they would conflict with the purity of his own mark. Instead, they are represented in the way they appear. If you're particularly perceptive, you can see the resemblance between Mortikai's mask that he gains when possessed by Dark Brink and his mark shown above. The only mark that this doesn't apply to is the children of his proxies, as that symbol is used very rarely due to Dark Brink now having the power to see where they are due to their parent's mark being carried in the same place. For example, if one was to see Catacus as a kitten (pre-plant transformation), you would be able to see the faint mark of Dark Brink on either side of his body, like his father Shadowsneak.

(ALSO I CAN'T BELIEVE I FORGOT THIS)

All titles can be given by the Brinks and the White Stag, however, they can only be removed by the Stag. This is usually by his appearance and some incantations, but can also be done by his descendants via a special sword. This is usually used to remove Dark Brink's mark from those who don't want to suffer his wrath by betraying him and his cause.

So many symbols--

I like how they're all simple but unique. And I enjoyed reading through your novels, as always. XD

So, the White Stag is actually able to remove Dark Brink's mark from others? That's really cool, I always assumed that his mark was permanent and nothing could be done about it.

This is a pretty cool concept I'd like to see in action, are you using this for a story or something? :0
