An Ether Relic is a spirit created by one of the twelve Deity Beasts who created a part of the world. The relics, created from the beasts' own life force, each choose a mage to be their wielder; those mages are known as Ethriers. The role of an Ethrier is to guide the people, end wars, bring peace and knowledge, and be the link to the great Beasts.
A relic can transform into any shape, depending on their Ethrier's abilities. Their purpose is to be a messenger for the beasts, but oftentimes, they become emotionally attached to their wielder, and form familial like bonds.
