If you have any mechanical pencils, remove the led and you can easily use one without damaging the DS screen.

Ahh I didn't even consider that, I thought your buddy was screwing around with the stylus and lost it that way. I take back me saying he owes you a stylus!
And yeah I feel the same, even the XL 3dses are tiny... I wanna get a tablet eventually myself, the tiny 3ds screens feel limiting and I'm sure it's rough on the eyes to draw on these things cause of how you're focusing on such a small screen for so long at a time.
