This all started on tumblr, but it affects all of my art--
Someone pointed out recently that my art looks stiff, and to be honest this is not the first time i've received that comment but getting it again really rang the warning bells for me, so i asked for more details and realized... my art really sucks. I guess my colors are ok according to them but it's putting lipstick on a skeleton, my sketches and lines are bad. I have also been putting up some subpar rushed work-- (cont. in comments)
The Colors! Gallery moderators will look at it as soon as possible.

--and i'm really ashamed of that... long story short, i promise to work harder from now on to improve, I don't want to cut corners or stagnate anymore... and I'm sorry to you all, you deserve better from me! I will do my best especially with the stiffness, i'm trying out some new sketch techniques already!-- thanks for reading all this, again sorry.

idk who's calling your art stiff, but i really don't see it tbh??? your art is quite honestly some of the most stunning work ive seen on here.
and while everyone always has room for improvement no matter how good they are, you shouldnt feel bad because you dont actually owe us anything??
i know it can make one self conscious when people say things like that, but just remember that your best is all you can do, and further improvement often comes naturally over time, sometimes without you even noticing it.
sorry for this wall of text, but i just wanted to say that you don't need to feel bad, because you haven't let anyone down.

Yes, your poses aren't as extravagant lately as usual, but your art is usually perfect, and tbh even though some are rushed, I still enjoy them all and their all amazing. My only critique really is that I'd love to see more non-Fandom related stuff because your art is super pretty and colorful and I'd like to see some of the super pretty and colorful characters you make, but don't worry, your fine! c:

What are you talking about Day-san! Your art works are very very beautiful and breathtaking! It’s not Stiff at all it’s pure beauty! Don’t worry about someone that calls your amazing art work “stiff” because it is not! Please keep working on your amazing beautiful pretty drawings! Every artists around the globe will be in a day full of sadness if they will never get to see how you always draw! I am cheering for you Day-san!

Day, I'm not sure if you read your internet comments but this tutorial can help.

I'm very sorry to say this but while your art is very lovely to look at, sometimes it can turn out as stiff and the proportions can be off (this is just my opinion). And that's okay, my art can turn out that way too! Your art is nice, but it is not "perfect in every way." No one's is. I'm saying this because I WANT you to improve, and I'd love to see where you take your art with the advice you get. There's always room for more improvement! I know you can do it, you're still an amazing artist <3

Hey! Don’t beat yourself up over it! Everyone has an art style, and some people just aren’t accustomed to it. Don’t let those comments define you as a person! Tbh, I may not comment much, but I really do love your art, and I’m following you on Tumblr right now! (thatsushichick)

Yesterday I was literally telling someone that I wish I had your talent! You're absolutely AMAZING at what you do and I'm always wanting to be like you. You're basically my art role model. And... Stiff? Okay, they must be really observant and picky because your colours and lines(which is basically the main thing of art-) is so beautiful to me that well there is nothing wrong I could think of. I really do wish I had your talent. :)

wait maybe not even observant just picky like I don't see anything stiff about your art

No way, man! Your art's the best! It's so colorful and happy, it just warms me up inside every time I see one of your paintings! I think that it's fine just the way it is! <3 (owo) <3

There's nothing to be sorry for! I have the same problem too, I'm self-conscious about my art and feel as if mine is too stiff as well. But that doesn't make you a bad artist! I can tell you with certainty that your art is absolutely amazing and you shouldn't feel bad about it one bit. I really admire your style, you're my favorite artist here on Colors ^-^

You're art is beatiful and is perfect at all edges. People say their is no perfect but I think I found it. You work way to hard. It's good to improve but Don t get so worked up over one comment. You are great and never forget it!

I don't even watch you, but one thing i can assure is your art's anything but stiff, you have some crazy talent.
An important thing when getting opinions & critiques is to look at what type of person is the person giving the critique, what type of art do they generally like? do they themselves draw? and how well do they really understand it?
Everyone falls into some kind of grouping that allows you to predict what they find attractive or good looking.
Perhaps they don't like cartoon style, but are attracted to your spectacular color skills. If someone doesn't like cartoons, then i could easily see someone leave that sort of comment.
:'v i'm exhausted so forgive an grammatical errors i potentially did.

:'v wait... doesn't tumblr have like... a largely toxic userbase.

Im pretty new to your art, I thought having a new set of eyes might help. Overall I dont see any problems with your art. Its quite amazing. I beleive the problem is with how you start out. From what I see you tend to concentrate on the details from the beginning. Drawing the face in from the start for example. Maybe try gestering out the body with loose lines first and then going in with the details. Other than that heres not really much else to say. Keep being amazing! Haha ^^
