It was dark. A perfect silver moon hung over and illuminated the night sky, millions of tiny stars sparkling like glitter. The sounds of crickets and owls filled the lush forest. Through the bushes and trees, a large figure concealed in shadows bounded along silently, its tail swaying behind it.

(I'm gonna use an Oc of mine Named Emory!)

As the cold night wind continued to howl, a little girl shivered a bit. She wasn't afraid of her surroundings, but rather just cold. The small child had gathered firewood to start a small fire in the spot she would stay for the night. All she had to do now was find it! She put the wood down for a moment to adjust her cloak as the wind had blown her hood off.

(Ooooh who's Emory? owo)

The large animal's ears swivled as the wind howled. It brought its muzzle up and sniffed the air; there was fire. It also seemed to pick up the scent of-
A human?
Its ears laid back a little. It didn't need any trouble. This unknown human was probably camping. The creature assumed the stranger would leave by sunrise. It would be best to lay low.

(She's a little girl who's the daughter of a magic character I made named Mystic! She has an affinity for adventure and the unknown!)

Emory kneeled by the small river clearing as she set down the blankets where she would lay down for the night. After she finished making her bed, Emory grabbed an apple, and skewered it on a stick. Roasting it above the fire. Emory hummed to herself as she looked into the flames. She then looked at the stars. The gorgeous nightsky was breathtaking, but she noticed the low rumble of dark clouds. Hopefully it wouldn't rain.

The animal began to walk away. He didn't notice the trap hidden in the grass. He unknowingly set his hind paw down in the center of the trigger. The trap unwravled and quickly wrapped itself tight around the hind leg. The creature gave a startled and pained hybrid of a yelp and a roar as he stumbled to the ground.

Emory heard the cry and got up quickly. She turned around and dropped her cooked apple. She grabbed her bag and Shuffled through the bushes behind her until she saw it... a large wolf-like creature struggling to escape the beartrap it's leg got crunched into. She slowly approached it as to not startle the being.

The werewolf heard and snapped his head up. It was a child. She stood still, staring at him. Nero slowly brought his head down, a low warning growl rumbled from his throat.

"Ssh! It's okay boy! I'm not going to hurt you..."

Emory said in a quiet tone. She took a small springy tool out of her bag and headed closer to the injured leg. Careful to no not disturb the beast who could easily tear her apart.

"Boy". This girl just called him "Boy." His growling didn't cease much, but he watched the girl aproach his leg. His ears were still laid flat against his skull. His muscles were tensed up. He curled his tail against his thighs, trying to conceal the tattered shorts he wore.

Emory was nervous, but determined to help the creature in need. She looped the tool around the joint of the trap being precise with her movements. Eventually, she caused the trap to disconnect, freeing the werewolf. Although his back leg was torn nicely from the trap's deep steel teeth. As he triumphantly got up Emory was knocked back. Her tiny body colliding with the ground.

Nero turned around and began to run. Unfortunatly, he didn't get far at all. He dropped to the ground. A low whine escaped him as he winced at the burning in his leg.

Emory dusted herself off as she got up. Her hands still a little bloodied from handling the beast's leg. There it stood. Now looking even larger than before.
Emory noticed it was still in pain, even though it was freed. She was unsure if she should do anything else for it. Her instinct told her to get out of there, but her heart told her to stay.

Nero tried to get up on all fours again to no prevail.

Emory couldn't fight off her concience, and being the naive girl she was got close to him once more.

"H-Hey! If you can understand me, you gotta stop moving, you're making it worse!"

Emory shuffled through her bag once again and got some wrapping bandages.

"These are a little small, but I can help!"

(Yes Emory, follow your heart! >w<)

Nero stared at the girl, rather dumbfounded. She was... confident. Reluctantly, he settled down on his stomach and slowly stretched his leg out. He rested his head on his paw-like hands.

Emory sighed in releif. She sat down and bandaged the wound. She made sure to apply pressure to prevent rapid bleeding. She clipped the bangage down and the wound was covered.

"There you are... Perfect!"

Nero looked at his bandaged leg, then at the girl. His golden eyes were fixed on her. Slowly, he sat up in front of her, his ears twitching. He nuzzled into her arm.

Emory's bright green eyes shone with excitement! This was like a giant puppy! She had a big smile on her face and she started to scratch him behind the ears.

Nero's tail wagged a bit. This went on for a few minutes. He eventually noticed the girl beginning to shiver. He nudged her over to the fire where her blankets were. He saw the girl's eyes go wide with amazement, as she was able to see him clearly in the light.

Emory was amazed by the bright colors of his fur, She never saw any animal like that before! She hopped up and down in excitement!
"Whoa! You're so colorful!"

"I gotta sketch you down so papa can- Oh no!"

Emory looked down to her feet and saw the apple she dropped when she heard Nero's yelp. It had been burnt to a crisp and was completely unedible.

"Aw noooo... That was my supper!"

Nero nudged her hard enough to have her sit. He trotted into the bushes. He later came back with a branch full of blueberries in his mouth. He set it down in front of her.

"Wow! That's so nice of you."

Emory picked the berries off the branch and ate. Before bed she tried her best to sketch down her new wolven friend. Although it was definitly... something. The drawing looked more like a puffball than a wolf! Well... She's still a little kid after all!

Emory soon after fell asleep lying down at her new friends side.

Nero looked down at her. He never had this kind of interaction before...
He curled up next to her.

He stayed there the whole night with her. The fire was out by now, and he looked into the horizon. The sun was rising...

He began to pant. He couldn't revert in front of her! With a growl of discomfort, he managed to get up and limp towards a nearby tree. He was on his hind legs now, supporting himself. He heard the girl wake up.

Emory yawned and stretched out her arms. Rubbing the drowsyness from her eyes she awoke to find her friend gone. She called for him, but heard no reply. She was dissapointed, but remembered as far as she knew, the wild was his home.

She took off her cloak and gathered her belongings in her bag.

(He's a good boy indeed. -w-)
Nero was beginning to revert. A large crack sounded from him. A pained roar broke from him as he fell to the ground.

Emory heard weird cracking from across the stream. She assumed it was a deer or some other animal in the brush. But the Pants she heard afterward reminded her of the friend she made the night before!

"Heey! Is that you wolf?"

(Alright, this is the last one tonight, we'll continue this sometime tomorrow. ^v^)

Nero shut his eyes tight in pain. He couldn't answer. His body began to crack further as his body slowly changed. His yelps and roars melted into weak and pained moans. Due to his reduced size, the bandages slipped off his injured leg. In the wolf's place was a dark human-like creature. He breathed heavily from the strain of his transformation before dropping to the ground, unconscious. He never noticed that the girl came back for him in the middle of his painful ordeal.

Emory had no idea what she was looking at. It looked human but somewhat... off. After some thought she put one and two together. This was the beast she befriended last night! She could tell by the gash, bandages and clothes he wore.

She wasn't stong enough to get him up, but she turned him around and redid his wrappings, after she finished cleaning the bandage.

(Sorry, I had alot of things to do!)

Nero's eyes remained closed. His toned chest gently rose with each quiet breath he took.

(Don't worry I did as well!)

Emory sat next to him. Waiting for him to awaken.

Nero eventually opened his now purple eyes, dazed.
