When a light Eater is still dormant in a Dreamer they are 'blank' they have no awareness in who or what they are or even about there host, no personality, no sense, no understanding of language, they only know of there hunger and the need to satisfy it.

There are several ways to cause a light eater to wake and stir in a Dreamer.

A alpha or ancient Nightmare can Force the Light Eater to wake up and eat there host Hearts reflection, this is usually a much faster and aggressive method that could kill or damage the young/Omega Nightmare.

Other creatures of corruption can make the light Eater stir in a Dreamer.

The Light Eater can just wake up

Unknown how but same Dreamer can start to gain the sense like their ancestors and be sensitive to emotions, it is on s much lower level and never get a chance to fully develop because when this happens negative emotions will make the Light Eater stir and they become Nightmares

A Dreamer with a damaged Pearl is more likely to under go nightmare syndrome, they are sensitive to dark Magic at this time and some because of their damage Pearl are sensitive to emotions.

[ The Nightmare king]

Malice has several methods he uses to wake Light Eater up.

He can use his Barbed chains to infect Dreamers.

In his Nightmare form Malice has a strong dark aura, other Nightmares can since this and know to get out of the way. To a Dreamer who is sick, damaged pearls or sensitive to emotions or Magic his aura is enough to wake a Light Eater.

Malice can also prick the strings of his web to signal a dormant Light Eater to stir or become more active, the Nightmare king usually has to be in the area of the Dreamer and he can be in any form.
This works better if he aggravate the Dreamer and get them to absorb negative energy ether from himself or emotions.

(Fun fact: Mal used all 3 of these on Dreamcatcher because the red hair was being stubborn )

Back in the time of old when the Nightmare curse was first place on the Dreamers and they we're still sensitive to emotions,not only did Soledormir disperse the nightmare syndrome but he send Malice out to infect Dreamers, the Nightmare king could use his wings and discharge a dark pulse of the nightmare syndrome and Dreamers absorb this like they would emotions for energy but instead get corrupted. The infected Dreamers ether died or become Nightmares, or very sick as there body try to fight the infection, the Dreamer population plummeted until the Fairfin we're made and replace a Dreamer need for emotion energy.

As the Light Eater eat there host Hearts reflection they began to learn and understand things.

This part of the lore will explain Symptoms of nightmare syndrome and the development of the light Eater.both 'blank and feral' Light Eater and there stages of development.

(Feral is a Light Eater out side there host/frame and I'll have it described with { } symbols )

[Infant stage]
The Light Eater has awaken and started to stir In there Dreamer host.

{The light Eater would have a difficult time taking there true form outside there host, but if they did they be very small about the quarter of a size of them as an adult, they be very weak and undeveloped and only have there Primal instincts ( more on this later)}

For Pyro :
Burning in the chest.
Fever and Sweating.

For Frost:
Cold ache in the chest.
Unable to stay warm and shivering.

(For both varieties they symptoms will increase the more the Light Eater consumes them)

[Preteen stage]

{By this point the Light Eater will have awareness and have grown some. They will be curious and what to learn more, meaning they eat there host most }

Both:
Pupils of the eyes with slit 
Increase hunger.
Odd Mood swings
Lantern light color will start to get darker.

[teenage stage]

Past the point of no return:

{The Light Eater has develop it's own personality and try to experiment with it's host.
There true form would almost be that of an a fully developed Light Eater but they still have some deformities ( this is Catty)}

increase anger, irritation and dark thoughts.
Irises will trun a different color in eyes( And be what color the Light Eater is).
Ability to sense others fears.
craving for raw meat or Blood.
Blood is very dark color.
Cracks in the lantern and dark light Inside.

[Late teen early adult]
Just before the Light Eater take full control.

{Shifts in personality, the light Eater will take over it's host and speak and move with there body.}

Increase in physical abilities, (strength, speed Etc..)
Hair or fur turns darker to black.
Blood is black.
Enjoy the fear from others.
Desire to kill the ones that were close to them.
Breaks their Lantern is the last before they trun.

Depending on how the Light Eater awakens these symptoms may be different from each individual, expecially on a focus corruption, also it depends on how much the light Eater is a glutton in eating there host.

[Adult]

When the light Eater fully devours there host Hearts reflection, the Dreamer dies and a Nightmare is born.

The light Eater is fully develop and take a form of an adult Light Eater.

Note: This however doesn't mean the Light Eater is mature personality-wise, as they are now a young/Omega Nightmare and started to learn and experience things differently.

It is possible to remove a Light Eater out of there host/frame but is very dangerous.

A Dreamer can remember there heart reflection and there Fairfin can treated as long as there apartment is not past the point of no return.

A Red Demon can rip a Light Eater out of it's host/frame ( Dreamer body) with there chaos touch, however depending if the Dreamer is still alive or not changes the results.

[Dormant and infant]

In the dormant or infant stage of the Light Eater, the chaos touch of the red Demon kills both Light Eater and Dreamer in the attempt to remove the light Eater. This is because the red Demon is draining the Dreamer life at the same time as they are ripping out the frail Light Eater.

A Fairfin can burn the curse and force the light Eater back into dormancy.

The results about the same as above
[Teenage to young adult]

The light Eater is now aware and will try to resist, the Dreamer body might be able to handle the chaos touch more but the Light Eater not going to leave it's host willing... The light Eater will Shred what left of the Dreamer heart in the process of it being removed, greatly damaging the Dreamer if not killing them.

The light Eater can survive the process, but the chances of them being damaged is very high.

Fun fact: Soledormir did this /made Omen do this on multiple occasions as a form of torture to Faolan and Judas as he interrogated the Dreamer Prince ( Soledormir mess up and I hate him )

It's impossible for a Fairfin to burn their bond Partners heart reflection to put the light Eater back to sleep, the light Eater has eaten to much of the Dreamer Light and will kill the Dreamer.

[Adult]

A red Demon can rip out a light Eater out of it's frame without worrying about the Dreamer body because it's dead... Depending on the red Demons experience in riping a light Eater out and how much it resist the light Eater can survive being ripped out, but fatalities do occur with removing the light Eater.

Malice can rip a another Light Eater out but he generally kill them in the process ( then again that what he going for)

Other creatures can rip a light Eater out, Soledormir is one, and so is Void.

It is unknown if there is a cure for nightmares syndrome or removing a Light Eater safely

[Out of Body Experience]

When a light Eater fully possesses their frame they 'taint' it with there Darkness/corruption, this is what makes the Dreamer appearance drastically change to a Nightmare, the light Eater leave the 'residents marker' on there frame and they do this instinctively, this keeps the body from decaying and getting Rigamortis if they are ever remove, it also allows them to return back into there frame.

( It also what keep Void from possessing a Nightmare frame...)
When being removed/ ripped out the light Eater is in it's purest form, a dark shadowy liquid, it then will ether died or take the form of a light Eater.

The light Eater usually has to adapt to there surroundings and Raw sense can be overwhelming to them at first.
there hearing is greatly increased to the point where they can hear a person's heartbeat in the other room if they focus and don't get overwhelmed with all the other sounds. There sense of smell also is enhanced but is focused on sniffing out Light magic.
There eyes sight is superb, and are like binoculars for distance or focus in cloes details, however there eyes are sensitive to bright sun light and need time to adapt. There strongest sense is there predator, they can sense others aura on a much larger scale, this is because of there second pair of eyes.

The light Eater is also very sensitive to elements outside there frame, a pyro is susceptible to cold temperatures as a Frost is the same to warmer temperatures.

[Nothing Like Home Sweet Home]

To return to a frame all the Light Eater has to do is make contact with the body that has been 'residents marker' by a Light Eater correction, the light Eater will instinctively comfort back to there peer form (the dark liquid) and dissolve into there frame, it takes a moment for the light Eater to adjust to there frame especially if it originally was not theirs.

If a light Eater swamps frames with another Light Eater, the eye color of there frame changes with the light Eater a long with the color of Magic they use.

When a light Eater out of there frame there instincts can change and go back to there more primal instincts, depending on how hungry they are.

A light Eater main instincts are eat, learn and survive.

When a adult Light Eater is first remove they are are just the same as they would be as a Nightmare (personality-wise)
Survival is there main instinct.

The longer the light Eater is out of there frame the hungrier they get and the change in there Behavior if they don't eat.

The hungry a light Eater gets the more they convert back to there Primal instincts and become feral.
Food is there top priority and you don't want to get between a starved Light Eater and it's food, they might be cute and small but they get Savage when they get to hungry and will have no fear or sense of reason until they have eaten.

These little guys will take on creatures 10 times their size if it means food ( does it mean the win but they try x'D ) however doesn't underestimate so cute there cute and frail forms, with strong Jaws and several rows of teeth, Light Eater can eat through a Dreamer chest to get to there heart reflection if starved enough.

Light Eater we're made to learn and adapt, even as a blank or feral, Mal when he was a baby Omen was able to get him to do stuff for Light, much like training a dog...(that will try and eat you, good thing Silverblood taste nasty to Light Eater/Nightmares.) As an infant Mal didn't have awareness all he knew was Omen had food and if he did certain things Omen would feed him.

At one point if the light Eater hungry enough they do anything to eat, kill ( or try to) tell there secrets, beg, if it meant food and survival they likely do it.

A light Eater can starve to death, the closer they are to it the weaker they get until they shrivel up.

When a light Eater dies there form returns to its liquid appearance.

When a Nightmare dies, there blood is black but there body start to break down and form a pool of the dark liquid.

( Malice use the liquid of dead Light Eater for many reasons, healing, echoes and more...)

[Other Light Eater Stuff]

The light Eater make a chirp bark sound, they can also purr and hiss, hissing is what they do the most.(cranky little beasties)
to get a light Eater to purr might take some work, but given them enough light Magic to eat and they might do it.

If the light Eater has awareness they can speak and understand language.

A light Eater is pretty weak and vulnerable outside of its frame, they were mint to be in a Dreamer body so been outside of one is unnatural to them.

A very small percentage even know about the true form of a Nightmare, and can be the surprising shock for the Nightmare to discover what they really look like ( just don't call them cute )

After reading all this, I've learned of more reasons why Malice would hate Omen x'D

*Raises hand* I have a question! When a Nightmare is pulled from its frame and he/she has a Forgotten, how does the Forgotten respond to it? Or, could you do some lore on the Forgotten? XP

I could do so lore on them seen I haven't at all yet
