Most writers in the caverns write fiction. They write tales of battle and victory against the monsters that constantly invade their towns and legends of the surface, all things that the people desire. Ink is one of the few who writes about facts and the history of their civilization through the accounts of the elderly.

Edit: Whoops! I forgot to do the writing all over his body! Star likes to write on himself despite all the books his brother gives specifically so he doesn't. He also likes to lean on his gloved hand which soaks up all the excess ink from when he writes so he doesn't smear it on the paper causing him to get ink stains on his face constantly.
