Nightmares hate anything to do with Romance, they don't understand it's purpose, feelings of love, intimacy, caring for another are foreign to them,
they don't even have lustful desires, they can look at an individual and know that they are attractive by the memories of their former self would have thought or by observing other people's opinions on the individual and they themselves will eventually be able to determine if someone would be 'attractive'.

Young Nightmares generally will freak out, horrified or grossed out if they see someone even make small intimate gestures, like holding hands or a kiss ( a good example would be Cataclysm x'D)

Older Nightmares / sometimes/ overcome the desire to vomit at Romance and can even mimic or fake it ( Malice flirted pretty hard with Eira and Mina but like Mina said 'his words were Hollow' this is because Malice was faking emotions, in fact if the girls would have turn the tables and started to flirted with him hard they would have put Mal in an uncomfortable spot, he would have been forced to play along until he had enough or they get to close to his personal bubble, then he would show aggression like he does with Demise )

The Thought of having kids or the process in have them /never/ crosses their minds, however there not naive about it, they would have the memories of their former self, they just kinda put the idea of it in a dark closet and lock the door then throw away the key, slide a bookshelf or a cement wall in front of it and pretend it doesn't exist,
In fact bringing up the topic about having kids or a family to a Nightmare would put them in an uncomfortable spot, they wouldn't even know IF a Nightmare could have children and the thought of it would be completely outlandish.

This though of mind is all because a Nightmare is really a Light Eater just in a Dreamer body, Light Eaters are a form of living dark Magic a curse place on the Dreamers race,Light Eaters we're made to corrupt life not make it, when a Dreamer is born a Light Eater is inside them already, it is dormant until something causes it to stir and then it begins to Eat the Dreamers hearts and replaces it with itself.

A Light Eater learns by eating things.

When a light Eater first start to stir in a Dreamer they have no awareness, in what they are, language, emotions, senses, all that they know is there hunger, and the need to satisfy it. This stage of a light eater is known as the 'blank' or 'Feral' ( Feral is for a light Eater outside a frame, more on this later )
As the light Eater eats their hosts hearts, they began to learn and understand things, at one point a Light Eater would know that they are dark Magic and the more they eat of the Dreamers hearts the more they understand, (however they do not know what they really look like, unless they have been ripped out or seen another Light Eater out of there frame.) There are some things a light Eater will not learn or have no desire in understanding

Between Nightmare and Nightmare, it would likely only happen with a higher rank and a lower rank, Nightmares are very territorial and ones on the same level would likely kill each other.

Between Nightmare and Nightmare if the male is the higher rank he would likely abandon the female after the deed is done and /might/ check back later, out of curiosity.the same would be if a Male Nightmare and any other species.

A Female Nightmare will go Black Widow on her mate ( any male) and eat him after she conceives. ( Unless she is the lower rank between Nightmares, then she would have to find something else to eat and would likely go on a Feeding Frenzy )

Because of the aggression of the corruption Within a Nightmare, they have an extremely high conception rate and fast pregnancy term.

Unlike a Dreamer that is a 12 months ( one year) pregnancy term.
Between Nightmare and Nightmare the female pregnancy term is 3 months, and she can conceive again in the same month after giving birth.

A Nightmare with any other species, you take the pregnancy term of the other Species and make it a quarter.

( Any ) female will know she with child with a Nightmare in the same day she has conceive, depending on if Frost or Pyro the mother with feel a cold or burning sensation in her abdomen as her body is undergoing drastic changes, the sack that the baby develops is much thicker then a normal pregnancy, and the water is a black gooey liquid this is all to protect the female as the baby grows and when she gives birth ( the baby going to be a spiky little thing )
Note: Nightmares can sense if a female is pregnant even if she not showing yet, by using there Predator sense they see both mother and childs life aura.

As the baby grows black veining will appear on the mothers stomach, she will also be extremely hungry all the time and have a craving for meat, she will experience major mood swings as the baby feeds of her emotions, as it gets closer to her giving birth she will experience Restless sleep, nightmares and could even see the unborn child she caring in a dream.

If the male Nightmare is present for the birth, he could kill both mother and child , if he doesn't see a purpose in using ether one or he might just leave again.

A mother Nightmare after giving birth has a high chance of killing and eating her Child after giving birth, or she will abandon it, having a infant and having to care of it service little purpose in a Nightmare mind, but /IF/ by chance she thinks of a way the child could be useful she might look after the child but don't expect any parenting love from a Nightmare.

If that's not bad enough for the Baby Nightmare, other Nightmares in the area will sense the abnormality and Potential Threat and want to kill it, but the worst would be 'Malice' as the Nightmare king he is in charge of maintaining the balance of the Nightmare species...

Malice the only Light Eater to have been born without a Dreamer frame, Malice is first Nightmare and the source of the nightmare syndrome, with 'his wings' he is connected to every Light Eater including the ones still sleeping in Dreamers, if Malice senses a decline in population he send out a signal to Alphas and Ancients to corrupt Dreamers and make the light Eater wake up, ( this is the only thing Malice can control with Alphas and Ancients )
This connection to other Nightmares is referred to as the ' web' lower rank Nightmares he can use differently than higher ones, ( more on this in the lore about Mal )
If the population gets to large Mal will also start thinning the herd and if the boom in population is due to an Alpha or another Ancient he will seek out that individual and put them down. other Nightmares do not realize any of this and Malice does it by instinct.

Back to Baby Nightmares, Mal would since the abnormally Within the web and instinctively seek it out and kill it and those involved, bringing the herd back into balance

These cute little monstrosity would come in different varieties, far more than what is show here. This is because is it's not only the Dreamer frame but the corruption themselves ( the Light Eater ) that reproduce.

There is also a different between two Nightmares offspring then a Nightmare and any other species, along with Pyro and Frost.

A Nightmare cross with any other species ( including a Dreamer) the Offspring ( true form) could have 6 legs or just 4, they also could have 4 eyes or 2 with 2 gemstones we're the other pear of eyes should be, there body shape can be anywhere between a Nightmare or Dreamer, there mane and tail can either be Smokey flames or dark color clouds, they could have black ribbons, chains or a mix of both. Along their neck and chest would be gems or splits that open and close ( like Catch dark form ) instead of open cavities.

(Behavior and abilities)
Because they we're born as a Nightmare mix, the curse of the nightmare would be unbalanced within them, meaning they would be able to absorb both good and bad emotions and use them for energy. They would also be able to both abilities of a Nightmare and what a Dreamer could do before the curse.
The infant senses would also be much Keener the a normal Nightmares.
They could eat like a Dreamer but would prefer meat.
They also would not need to form a bond with Fairfin seen they are part Nightmare.

Between a Nightmare male and a female Nightmare there offspring would have 4 eyes and 6 lags ( like the little guy on the left ) this is because of the Light Eater. The infant senses and abilities would be much greater than a Normal Nightmare, they could also have a tail like a Nightmare or one like a Light Eater.

Because of the Light Eater, when two Nightmares mix, here offspring will have no Light inside them, they're child would be a blank/feral like a Light Eater and only care about is food and satisfying their hunger, the child would be able to eat both light Magic, negative emotions and Flash of others.
A light Eater learns by eating things, because of the Dreamers ability to copy shift the Nightmare child would be able to copy the form of a species that they eaten even as an adult, making them extremely versatile. Just like a normal Light Eater a Baby Nightmare would eventually learn and start understanding as the more they eat.

Because of there Quake development time, Baby Nightmares are very small at birth.

No matter what ( if a half Blood or not, or what form) a Nightmare Offspring is born with teeth, they can nurse like a Dreamer offspring would but could eat meat as soon as there born, the baby Nightmare will grow a second row of teeth at the age a Dreamer would get there baby teeth.

The baby will have ether straight black hair, slightly tinted black hair ( like Mal, and Catty ) or a very dark or deep pigment color.

( For true form)
Depending on it pyro or Frost the baby pelt will ether be long fur for Frost or short fur for Pyro.

Because of there ability to gain energy by multiple sources, when a Baby Nightmare reach adulthood they would be able to jump the ranks at an alarming rate.

A naturally born Nightmare would look different when they reach maturity as an adult, they would also be able to manipulate there form appearing more fearsome or more attractive.

Though it would be much harder to achieve but IF a Pyro crossed with a Frost Nightmare they would produce an abomination of admits power, this is something Soledormir had intended to happen...

[Eradicating a species ]

When Soledormir dispersed the curse throughout the Dreamer kind he attended it to Wipeout the Dreamer species and replacing it with Nightmares, with Nightmares reproducing at alarming rate there numbers would swell, spreading across the realms like locusts, the Nightmares would devour learn and conquer but this did not go according to plan or at least yet...

With Soledormir seal away everything on a stand still, but he ok with this as time passes after the Great War the Dreamer population has increased, meaning more possible Nightmares for when he returns, however now Fairfin are in existence

The right top little guy that looks like a hot dog with ketchup and mustard, is a pyro mix ( with what I don't know x'D there not even supposed to exist ) but it has a mix between Nightmare and Dreamer look.

The blue boy would be a Frost Nightmare and Nightmare baby, this little monster would likely be Lamia son ( @BloodHybrid Nightmare )
she the only Nightmare demented enough to do something so crazy and her existence is to be a pain in the derriere for Mal (and I had no idea what to do for the Frost and didn't want to end up with another ketchup and mustard baby x'D)
