Perception of the unicorn has changed very drastically over the years. Traditionally they were seen as either the true king of beasts, or in an eternal battle with the lion for that title. This is commonly reflected in coat of arms in my own country, Canada, but is common in many other countries as well. Scotland's national animal is even the unicorn to this day!

Back here in 2018 we've moved onto a rather different perspective though. haha
