You know quite a bit about Vaseterm and red Demons already and he not a Royal so you don't have to worry about him ended up like what happened to Killy ( and what could happen to Lilly's girl ) so personality-wise you can do however you like.
Now Star scales can be a bit unique and Red demon one can be a bit OP but he still a little guy
Your boy a bit special but it's because of his crystal gem Dragon side ( that's made a awkward red demon x'D)

The color of the gemstones on a crystal gem Dragon is the color of their element ( Crimson is blue, + Blue fire, Lance is purple + purple lightning) your boy has clear gemstones which is extremely rare for both Vaseterm and Crystalgem,
For Crystalgem Dragon it means he has no element, however because he a sliver Blood and a red Demon this makes him extremely versatile, when he uses his chaos touch on someone if they have some kind of power he will not only still their life energy but that individuals abilities as well ( for a set amount of time, if he just touches someone who only be for a few minutes compared to if he took someone's life he could have there power for several weeks ) his gemstone will turn to the color of element and stay that way until he uses it all up ( his touch however has no effect on other who have chaos Magic )

About crystal gem dragons
When a crystal gem dragon uses their element, the gemstones along their bodies light up and if they have a mane it to will be engulf within that element, his would be clear with little chaos flakes in it
He also has a gemstone on his chest even though he is not a royal Vaseterm, this is because of his Dragon side ( so the poor boy will likely get mistaken for a royal even though he's not one, if they don't pay attention to his wings not having gemstone feathers)
crystal gem dragons have the white patches around the eyes and most have little mittens on there paws
