Charmandah lands in the painting, and arrives in a black world, just like with the others. A white door is seen off in the distance. Charmandah gets up and stares at the door. He thinks of what the demon said to him, (Man, what am I getting myself into? Is this even going to be possible?) He anticipates what might be on the other side of the door. Surely, considering what kind of person Trevenant was, his nightmare would be the most dangerous of them all. But, Charmandah looked at himself, despite the fear in his mind, he felt an incredible peace in his heart, urging him to go forward. Charmandah, adjusting his cap, walks toward the door. Thoughts of those he loved encouraged him, he stepped into the door, ready for anything.

"Grrr!"
"Grunt!"

What he saw inside surpeised him a little.It seemed to be the same, black room, however, Trevenant was there, his limbs chained to the ground, and a large mirror directly in front of him. Charmandah slowly approached him, watching as he struggled to break loose. Trevenant struggled very hard, but eventually gave up and sat down, acceptingnhis dark fate. Charmandah stopped moving and watched, "I know you're there." The Trevenant said. Charmandah was a bit embarrassed, but walked up to him, "Hey...are you ok?" "Do I look like someone who is OK?" "Um, well. I guess not." Charmandah walks up next to him, and tries to remove the chains from his legs to no avail, "What are you doing to me?" He asked, "I'm trying to free you!" The Trevenant just scoffed at him though, "Child, your efforts are wasted. Those chains are not material, the are spiritual." "Oh, I see. So, you need to overcome your nightmare to break them!" The Trevenant just looked at him, furious, and teary eyed,

"Nightmare? You want to see my nightmare? Have you noticed the mirror in front of me?" Charmandah looked through the mirror, but all that he saw was their reflections, "Um, is it...mirrors?" "No, my greatest fear is me!" Charmandah seemed confused and asked for an explanation, which Trevenant provided, "My greatest fear is what I have become. Empty...Alone...Unwanted...I've lost everything that I once had..."

Once...So long ago it seems. I was a young man. I was poor, my life was rough, but there was one thing that made life worth living for me. I met a woman, loving, gentle, and kind. The world had repeatably shunned me, but she took notice of me and gave me love. I never wanted to part from her, I wanted to spend eternity with her. So, after many months of saving, I finally had enough money saved to purchase a wedding ring. She had told me that what she wanted most out of life was to start a family, to love them as her mother had held her family together when her father left her.

We both knew what we wanted most, each other. So, when I had purchased the ring, I asked her to meet me in the forest, on the little hill where we had our first ever date as teenagers. When she arrived, we had a little picnic together under the sunset, and then, with the full moon's light overhead, I proposed to her. She said yes, and hugged me tightly. Things were finally going to change, and we would be together. We sat together a little while longer, dreaming and talking about what we were going to do first together...but then....a....a man...he....*sniff* came up to us....and he...pulled out a gun..He shot us both, and quickly robbed us, including the ring. As we lay there dying, she said to me so sweetly...She said...that...it wouldn't be over...that we would be together in heaven..she held my hand, even in death we'd be together. She went first, and as I saw her spirit fade away, I cried. But her words encouraged me, and soon after, I followed...

But then...

When I woke up, I was not in heaven. I had become this monstrosity. I couldn't believe what was happening and completely broke down. But then, I thought, that perhaps, she had become a Ghost Pokemon as well. I searched anywhere and everywhere, until I got desparate and searched out a Dusknoir, the reaper Pokemon. If anyone knew, he would. I felt something evil about him, but I didn't care. He answered my question...She had not become a Pokemon...I was left completely alone. The Dusknoir then cursed me, and left. There I was, trapped as a Pokemon forever, the anger and bitterness swelled within me..I continued searching for answers..Why?! But as I did, the torment grew within me...and here we are now.

Charmandah was silent. Trevenant then turned away, "That is my story...Now leave me to rot in this prison. There's nothing left for me anywhere. I searched." Charmandah spoke to him though, "Don't say that..." Charmandah was about to say more, but the Trevenant rebuked him, "You have no right to say ANYTHING to me! You have no idea the pain that I've had to go through EVERY DAY! You don't know the feeling of hopelessness, you don't know what it's like to lose the one thing you have, that you fought so hard to get every day of your life." Charmandah thought for a bit, then responded, "I don't know what you know...but I know what I know. I'm sorry about everything that has happened to you, but you know better than anyone else that this life of pain is awful. When you were a human, you were opressed, poor, living in bad conditions. But you pressed on and did your best. You've been knocked back down, but you shouldn't give up."

"I've lost the only person that has ever mattered to me. She was what made me keep going, I lived for her."
"Then why aren't you now?"
"!"
"Is this how she'd want you to live? Letting evil walk over you and control you? You thought you could handle the world on your own, but, the truth of the matter is...no one can. When she came into your life, everything was better. Staying away from people is never good, you need people by your side, always, because, they help you get through. The evil made you think you had nothing, and were nothing. But she completed you and showed you that you were something. Just because she's gone doesn't mean you're any less of who you are, and you can get through."

Trevenant is silent. Charmandah is out of things to say (I'm not sure this worked...Will it be enough to help him?)

"Don't worry Charmandah, I'll take it from here."

That voice! That sweet, gentle voice, Trevenant's heart stopped as he turned around, "TINA!"

"Peter..."
"Tina..."

Tina walked up to him, and gently rubbed his face, "My how you've changed, teehee." Peter moved his arms in front of his face, "Please, Tina, look away from me! I'm a monster!"

"No...You're Peter. You always have been Peter." "I'm sorry Tina. I have failed you." "Peter...I'm sorry that our time was cut short...but this thing that you call a curse, is truly a blessing. Becoming a Pokemon, is truly a gift. You've been given a second chance to live life, but now without the pain of your past."
"But Tina, life without you IS pain!"
"I'm sorry that we couldn't be together Peter...But everything happens with a purpose. Life's story has many stages, and this is your next chapter. It is hard to move on, put you can't let the past hold you back from going forward. My purpose was to help you through life, to teach you and help you grow. Now you have a new mission."

"Don't forget the past, and what you hold dear. It's what you learned in the past that made you who you are. But don't let the pain from the past prevent you from going into your future. You have a whole new adventure ahead of you. I may not be with you physically, but my spirit has ALWAYS been with you."

Peter and Tina hug each other, with Peter swelling up with tears, "Tina, forgive me, for falling away.."
"Peter, I allready have."
The chains around Peter shatter, and the darkness surrounding them becomes light.
"I love you."
Tina rises slowly, fading away. Peter watches her, crying, but hopeful, "We may not see each other face to face, but we will always be together forever." Charmandah and Peter fade away, leaving blank whiteness.

"Hey, look, he's finally waking up! Hoorray!"
Charmandah wakes up in the tent, and slowly sits up, "Hi guys?" Everyone cheers! Deeno hugs Charmandah crying, "Charmandah, I thought that I might never see you again!" She's overcome with joy, as if Charmandah had been resurrected. Charmandah thought about Peter and Tina, and how Deeno must have felt, "Deeno, I'm so sorry for what you had to go through." Deeno then tells her, "It's these challenges that bring us closer together." After heartwarming reunitings, the sun begins to rise. Charmandah sees the light from the sunrise outside, and remembers Trevenant, "Trevenant!" Charmandah runs outside, "Come on everybody! Charmandah runs into the forest, back to where they were all knocked out, but Trevenant wasn't there. Charmandah then thought to check the little hill in the forest, and sure enough, Trevenant stood at the top, next to the same tree he dated Tina. "Its funny...When I last met Tina, the sun had set, and then came night-"

"-But now I see this Sunrise. It's as if my life up to this point has been trapped in night, and this is the first time I have felt peace since then." Charmandah runs up to him and to his surprise, hugs him. Charmandah's friends watch from the bottom of the hill. "Thank you Charmandah...for having hope in me."

"So," Charmandah asks, "Where, are you going now?" Trevenant turns around, "I don't know. But...wherever it is, I know it will be good. I'll need to figure that out. But, this time with hope." He takes a deep breath as the wind blows on his back. No longer does it feel bitter, but soothing. "Charmandah, you're a great kid. You have a heart of gold, willing to help anyone who needs it, because you see the world as one full of light, rather than one full of darkness like many people do. One little mentality can make a world of difference. I knew there was something special in you when we first met. But I have to tell you this..."

"You have faced many difficult challenges in life, but one is going to come soon that will be harder than all of them combined. Please, stay strong and overcome it. Do better than me." Trevenant begins walking away, but Charmandah stops him, "Wait...will I ever see you again?" Trevenant smiles, "Yes, but next time, I'll make sure not to attack you. See you again...Friend."

Trevenant phases into the ground, gone. Charmandah stands up, with tears flowing from his eyes. His friends come up next to him and they all sit down together on top of the hill. They watch the sunrise together, hand in hand. As the sun rises every day, so does hope. Even in a world full of sin, light always will shine. Your night may be long, but its never night forever.

Awesome finale! I've been considering posting my stories on here, even though most of the chapters aren't finished, lol. Should I?

Re: The stories I write are, like, over 20 chapters long plus the prologue and epilogue, lol. (That's what happens when I have a lot of ideas XD) And they're not exactly family friendly. (Containing violence, blood, censored swearing, bullying, discrimination, etc. Blame Rodan and Titanosaurus for the bullying & discrimination parts!) I want to basically tell the people reading to not do any of the things some of the characters do because it's wrong. I do also make short stories, and most of them aren't as violent. But I'm not sure how well people here will handle my main ones. (I'm probably going to get reported, lol)
I could also make family friendly versions of them so that won't happen, too.

Nice work on the finale! The song selections were nice too. Glad to see that Peter is now at peace. I wonder what he meant about Charmandah having an upcoming challenge, though.

...I gotta say, I'm kinda interested in writing a story with my own characters, too. Not now, but maybe when the world and it's characters are a bit more defined. I've got unannounced characters right now which still haven't been given a name. xD
