i guess i'll write out this thing

so it was some time around 5 AM (i checked on my 3ds at some point) and a woke up to cat meows?? it wasn't my own cat, it was too loud. i suppose i dreamt it and that's all i remembered of it. or someone was playing cat sound effects, really loudly, at 5 AM. seems p likely

i was lying in bed in the dark, kinda spooked. for some reason my mind jumped to 'there could be someone standing in my room'.

i kept lying there until i heard the bathroom door creak a little. (i imagine it was wind or somin'.) so i thought, okay, if there is someone then hopefully they've left my room.

so i got out of bed. i peek into the hall, it's too dark to see much. i go back in my room and look for something i could attempt to defend myself with if they found me. i saw a sudden flash of light in the hall and i was sp00ked. aaand pretty much all i had was a pair of pliers. #weaponoftheyear

first i quietly open my big window so i have somewhere to run if i need to.

so i'm peering into the hall, pliers in hand, and i see another flash. i try to find where it's coming from. theeeeen i realise it was literally just the smoke alarm. it was so dark that the smoke alarm's tiny flashes looked really bright.

i go back to my room. i'm less convinced that we have a lurker now. i suddenly remember that i have a string of coloured lights from Christmas, so i turn them on. hooray! i can see!

i pace around for a short while, then i went and shut the window and got back in bed, leaving the pliers on my bedside table in case i needed to get them quick. i lay there for a bit, then i got out my 3ds and doodled (that's where this drawing came from) until i felt chill enough to turn off the lights and sleep for a while.
