One day, when Oak and Maple decided to visit the deserted tomb of Geraptiku, they came across a red kougra looking for her petpet. After a very confusing and rather comical introduction ("I'm Jolly" "You're happy your petpet is gone?" "No, my name's Jolly."), they helped her look for it. Maple found that the thing had gone into the temple itself. After doging the traps, she rescued it and returned it to Jolly. She was fasinated with the ruins and her love of all things creepy began. She was also glad that she had returned the petpet.

When she first met Snow, she first saw a tail in the grass. Kougras having a very playful nature, and many pouncing games, went ahead and pounced on the tail. The eyrie on the other end turned around, and seeing Maple's terrifying mask (of which she found in the ruins), Snow ran away. Maple, still thinking it was a game, gave chase. Oak, not knowing why his sister had run off, ran to follow. Eventually, Maple had caught up to Snow and had taken off her mask. Maple entroduced herself, and soon after so did Oak. They parted ways for the time being, but ran into each other quite often. She became good friends with Snow, and after learning the young eyrie didn.t have a proper home, bugged Oak to let her live with them. He allowed it and they became a family.

Maple loves exploring, swiming, and fighting. She likes testing her limits and the Battledome is the perfect place for it. Although, it wasn't at first.
At first, Oak was the battle pet of the family and was the one who got all the glory. Even after a jetsam joined them, he was still the main pet. Trying to figure out who she was and she was good at, she too got a magma paint job. However, since she was the second magma pet, she still didn't feel like it was her thing. So, once their sponsor collected all the map pieces to the lab ray, she became a lab pet. This experience gave her many different understandings of life as different species and genders. Once she arrived at a species she liked (faerie lutari lets her fly with Snow and swim with Oak), she decided she was herself. The lab ray also gave her huge stat boosts that allow her to fight with little worry, although she does still train at the Mystery Island training school. And so, she came to like fighting.

And when Xandra tried to use wraiths to take over Faerieland, she captured a wraith. She thought the little demon just needed some love and took it home as a pet, and its totally not responsible for anything that goes missing in the house...

In the Altador Cup, she always supports Darigan Citadel because of its aesthetic. The place is a little misunderstood, whuch makes it cool, and she likes the idea of throwing other pets off because a faerie is rooting for the Citadel. She is a bit of a rebel after all.
