Appearance
Drekkel sizes differ, but most often they are about the size of a large dog. Their fur can be just about any length, and their tails’ lengths vary as well.
They have fur covering all of their body, except their claws and spikes. Drekkels' spikes are used for protection or for attacking, while their claws are used for foraging and hunting as well as fighting.
The reason drekkels have four ears is to make up for the fact that they have no noses. They can't smell at all, but they have amazing hearing and very good eyesight as well.
Males and females are very similar in looks. Often, males have longer spikes than females do but that’s not a rule. (Their genders do not have to line up with biological sex, and they can be any gender.)
Traits
Drekkels' fur can be any colors but gray or black, and they can only have white fur if they are piebald or albino, both of which are very rare. Their spikes are always on their shoulders and ankles, and are always a shade of gray, black, or white.
Most individuals have complete heterochromia (each eye is a different color), although they can have sectoral/central heterochromia (multiple colors in an eye), or, rarely, eyes that are both the same color.
Rarely, it is possible for a drekkel to have a mutation of some sort, although often, these only affect them cosmetically.
Some drekkels with glow-colored fur patterns can make them light up for short periods of time, along with their eyes.
Diet
Drekkels are omnivores. They mostly eat plants but sometimes hunt smaller animals. They use their claws for cutting leaves and buds off of plants or hunting. Ultimately, an individual drekkel’s diet largely depends on their habitat.
Habitat/Behavior
They have been known to live in many different environments and climates, and their appearance can differ depending on where they live, although it doesn’t always.
They usually live alone or in small groups in the wild, but they can also live in civilized places like towns or cities.
Reproduction/Aging
They lay eggs, despite being mammals. Usually there are only 2-4 eggs in a clutch but there can be up to 6. These eggs take anywhere from a few weeks to a month to hatch, but usually all eggs in a clutch hatch at around the same time
