Luxia winked as she shed her best smile at Mako. When her father was not around, she would let loose and be more expressive. Furthermore, she was amused that the Hybrid was embarrassed by her ' 'request.' 'If you could call it that. It was more like a demand, but to her that was not relevant. Only the scientific analysis that needed to be carried out.

"What I mean is implicit in my previous statement. I wish for a sample of your venom. I want to determine whether or not the virulence of the venom changes from interbreeding of separate kinds of hybrids. And after I determine the strength of the venom, I will then begin daily suppliments of your venom to give me an immunity. And from its effects on me and the mice I test it on, I will create a cortex of notes in which to make an improved anti-venom."

Mako didn't know what to say. His tail whipped around nervously. It wasn't like she was asking much from him but it was still rather personal. He wasn't sure what the appropriate response to this would be. Talcot would usually help him out in these situations but he was totally on his own here.

"Ahem" he cleared his throat a bit and scratched his cheek awkwardly. "W-well I can't really see it being worse than my dad's.. since he's a full snake hybrid.. ahh" he seemed fidgety "I don't even know how you'd be able to get a 'sample' it only ever comes out when I bite into things a certain way, a-anyways I can just tell you what it does."

(Oh yes! I shall now begin my reply >;D)

Luxia shook her head back and forth, making a ' 'Tsk Tsk' ' noise as she did so. Her pigtails flopped back and forth as she did so.

"I know how to go about getting a sample. I furthermore, want to see whether or not I can determine its strength. Whether weaker or just the same. For the expansion of scientific knowledge, I must archive the experiements we will be conducting. And for once, I have you right where I want you. Away from the benevolent protection of Talcot. Furthermore, the biting will not be a problem. I will be running two tests at once! The effectiveness of the current Hybrid anti-venom and the power of crossbred hybrid venom."

Makos ears folded backwards "I-I don't need Talcot's protection-!" He seemed a bit defensive towards that subject but sighed a but and crossed his arms with a slight pout "- just advice for this type of.. situation" his tail continued to flicker around knowing he couldn't win, especially with how persistent she was Mako slowly gave in. "Just how.. will you be conducting these experiments.. exactly?.." Mako would be lying if he said he wasn't a bit interested in learning how strong his venom was. Who knows his could actually be stronger than his dads.

Smiling widely in triumph, Luxia clapped her hands together and rubbed them rigorously in excitement.

"Well! We will first start by having you bite down on a absorbent cotton block I have created. Then I will take that block and drain it into a vial which I will then dispense into a new and improved injection device which I will plunge the needle of into one of the rodent specimens."

Luxia walked up next to Mako and grabbed his should, wrinkling his robe as she started pulling him.

"Come! Time is ever present, but not infinite! Best not to waste it."

Before he was able to protest he was being practically dragged to where ever she was leading them.
"A cotton block? I should warn you that my venom dissolves certain fabrics are you sure it'd be able to well-being absorb it??" He then thought for a second "why don't you just have me bit the mouse? It's be easier than the extra step of extracting and dispensing it into your-- what did you say it was? Injection device??" Making no longer minded that Luxia was dragging him.

Luxia's eyebrow raised in question as she smiled back at Mako. Still dragging him toward her makeshift lab.

"Hmmm? You would be willing to bite a live rodent? That is splendid! I was expecting you to be a bit hesitant to bite an uncooked animal! But, with the pleasant news that my expectations were false, I can now caedus two steps and skip right to the main experiment! And, as an added bonus, your lack of apprehension at the thought of biting a living creature will help with the Grand Finale Experiment!"

Mako quirked an eye brow at her questioning whether or not he'd bite the creature then realized it did sound a bit strange. "Oh my mom brings home little critters home alot she's been teaching me and my older sister Rani about surviving and what not so biting into a living creature isn't the weirdest thing I've done before as long as it's smaller than a ferret."

(Okay! So Luxia will be taking Mako to her lab in the gardens. Good good! I shall now make my post ^0^)

They were approaching the large hedge that surrounded Castle Citrine. They were a towering 9 feet tall of pure bush. One could see the colorful flowers that sprouted off the hedge. Although, it acted as a natural barrier between the forest and the castle.
"Hmmm, well the Grand Finale Experiment after this initial experiment will take a tad out of your element. But I am sure you will get over it. We are almost at our destination by the way. Just past the castle hedge!"

Luxia and Mako reached the hedge wall. She walked parallel to it. Taking great care in scanning for the landmarks she set. Looking for her secret passage entrance.

Mako followed behind her now. Being able to keep up with her rather quick speed he was not walking instead of being forcibly dragged. His tail swayed gently as he smiled at the familiar sight of the hedges and castle. "I used to hop these hedges alot when I was younger. The guards up front didn't like me very much so I snuck back here to hang out with talcot. Ahh it's sort of nostalgic." He looked happy while remembering the memory.
Making watched her as she looked around for her secret entrance. "Whatcha lookin for?" He curiously looked where she was.

continuing her search, Luxia listened to Mako reminisce.

"Mhmm, I remember those days! I remember the time I helped you both sneak past the guards to go camping. Remember? I tested out my experimental conflagrant substance: Spark Powder!" They thought someone cast a spell at them to infiltrate the castle!"

Luxia finally spotted the entrance and strode directly at it. From even just 5 feet away, it would be hard for the untrained eye to see, but there was a small gap where the hedge became shallow and passable. Not as hard and overgrown. It was hidden by the mass of flowers overlapping eachother.

"Here we are. Mind your clothes. They might snag on the harder vines. I would hate for you to have a wardrobe malfunction. So please take great care."

Without further delay, Luxia plunged into the shallow yet deceiving hedge and made her way to the other side.

(She purposely ignored his question xD)

Mako nodded "Oh yeah! Your spark powder stuff! that stuff was great." He laughed slightly. He watched her dive into the bush he looked curiously at the small passway then manually measured it with his hand. "Erm.. Luxia we might have a problem. I'm not as small and slender as you and you're entrance here is a bit too small for me... I'll just go the old fashion way if yah don't mind that is."
With that being said Mako made his way up one of the many towering trees and climbed up it reaching the top he still had a ways to go before reaching the top of the bush so he hopped into the bush and made his way up it. Finally there he looked down to Luxia and had a care free smile on his face as he waved hello to her.

"Ah, the old fashioned way. Now that is nostalgic! Like old times...."

Luxia cupped her hands around her eyes as she looked to the top of the hedge. She saw Mako and waved back to him.

"Good thing the gardener is not here...."

Luxia signaled for Mako to follow as she started walking toward the old greenhouse in the gardens that she called her ' 'Lab' '

Mako took in the view for a second before climbing down about 3/4ths the way down he hopped off the bush and on the the ground landing on his feet. "There we go" he brushed his clothes off and jogged a bit to catch up to Luxia.
"Hey it's the green house, you still doing your science stuff in there?"

The sun was shining brightly. So brightly in fact that it made everything it reflected off of glow a radiant yellow. The sound of the gardens fountains and the chirping of birds made the garden even more peaceful.

Luxia swept some of her hair aside as she looked over her should at Mako, a smile on her face. Not only was her smile beaming, but also her blonde hair. The sun catching on the golden lengths of hair.

"Correct! I still conduct my experiments and research there. At times I go to Afai to do some of my more cumbersome experiments in Amai's laboratories."

Snickering to herself, Luxia spoke again.

"I remember when I used to get so angry and you and Talcot for calling my lab a Greenhouse. It WAS a greenhouse. But now it is a lab. But, I did grow some plants in there for experimenting. And I still do, so I guess it still is a greenhouse!"

They reached the entrance to the lab. It was of a decent size. And what once was a shabby old room of vials was now fully outfitted with pipes and was billowing small poofs of smoke from the top via a metal shaft.

"Here we are!"

Mako laughed slightly "well it's nice to see you haven't changed much. We should hang out more often when we have the time. The three of us. You, me and talcot. Oh we should go camping again! " His ears perked up "yeaaa thatd be fun"

Mako stretched a bit until his back popped, he sighed contently than begun speaking again "So where's this critter you want me to bite"

(What is funny, I got sick like 4 days before Thanksgiving. I was only just feeling better when Christmas came round xD But yeah! We should totally schedule for that roleplay! It would be great to catch up! -Hype)

Luxia shrugged as she opened the door to the lab, holding open for Mako to follow.

"Heh! I would say I changed more than you! If I do recall, I commonly hid my emotions from you and Talcot. But, here in the present. I rather like expressing myself in front of my friends!"

Closing the door behind Mako, Luxia started prepping stuff in her lab. The first thing she did was turn off her smelting machine.

"We should. It has been a long time since we all went camping. The first time I tagged along, I caught so many cicadas for experimenting that most of them perished before I had a chance to dissect them all!"

After prepping the area, Luxia grabbed a small cage full of mice. She shook it a bit as she held it up in front of Mako.

"Here they are! Our mixed specimens! I bred them from a particularly resistant strain of Vepuran Possum and a very healthy line of Iclios Swamp Rats. I guess you could say I am testing my hybrid rodents as well!"

Mako looked around what used to be their hide out as it was now almost a full fledged lab if not for the few minor safety hazards here and there.
"Did you hide them? hm guess I haven't caught on to that.. " he thought back to it "mmm nope I remember you just the same as now. Which isn't a bad thing." His tail swayed.

"Cicadas are pretty neat, though if you wanted to learn more about them you could always just ask your teacher Amai, isn't she like a writer about just-- well about everything.?" This was an over exaggeration of course.

Mako looked at the cage and his eyes focused and slit like that of a snake when they spot prey. He looked away and rubbed his eyes a bit before looking back at Luxia. "Is your dad ok with you breeding a new type of rodent? What if they got out? Ahh well I guess it's only a few.. so it shouldn't be too bad yah?.." he peered at the cage again his tail swaying playfully.

"Oh? I must have been doing a particularly bad job of hiding them then. I guess it is hard to hide them when one is having so much fun."

Luxia put the cage on the table and started removing the safety clamps to unlock the cage.

"That is how I became interested in Cicadas. Amai was teaching me one day when a Cicada landed on me from a open window. I could not help but capture it. After that, she gave me several books she wrote about them. After that day, I had to observe them myself and make my own inquiries on them. Compare notes would be a good way to put it."

After opening the cage, Luxia retrieved one of the hybrid rats from the cage and held it up. It was surprisingly small for being part of the possum family, but it did have some the same features. Its fur was a pale green color, taking more after the Iclios swamp rat.

"Well, father does not know of my breeding of animals, so he has no opinion on the matter. The longer it stays that way, the better. But, believe it or not..... If this strain of rodent was administered into any of the surrounding countries, It would proliferate faster than one could even estimate. They would have surprisingly tragic effects on the surrounding agriculture and the economy. But, fortunately for us, I will be killing off all of my remaining specimens after I have finished documentation of the effects of the poison and compile all my other research notes on them. So that I may recreate them as a form of warfare in case an unwarranted war arises."

(Yikes, that took me longer than I thought it would. Sorry :-;)

Mako smiled lightly "well I'm glad you have fun around us."
"Speaking of Miss Amai. Apparently according to Talcot I'm in a relationship with Miss Amais daughter Kali. Though Im not sure how it happened. All I did was give her the feather she dropped and then I'm in a relationship" he sighs "I have no way out of it either. She'll destroy every fiber of my being if I say anything about it" he looks quite defeated on the matter. "Anyways I'm getting off topic"

Mako turned his attention back to the small rodent she was holding, his eyes focused again and they slit. "So my venom would help you if another war would break loose?" He rubbed his eyes again and blinked a few times before the turned back to normal.

Luxia pet the skittish rat with her hand as she held it before Mako. she tilted her head at what Mako said.

"Really? That is rather unfortunate for you. It grieves me to think that so many acts of kindness are rewarded with dour instances and treatment and most commonly: conclusions. You could always send her a letter. It would be the safest way to break off the relationship."

Luxia shook her head yes as she raised the rat to him.

"Well, yes these experiments on venom will help too. But what I was implying was that if we ever needed to cripple an enemy force bent on Citrine destruction....The best way to combat it would be to cripple their farms....and thus, their economy and their army with it. Ahem! Now, without further delay, Please bite this helpless subject!"

Grinning widely, Luxia forcefully handed Mako the Rat.

Mako clutched the rat in his hands he felt it move slightly. "Ahhh she isn't bad just a bit eccentric is all." He laughed slightly "though you're probably right about the letter ahhh-- I'll figure it out eventually."

"That would work but it'd affect the civilians who aren't part of the war too and the neighboring country if they also use the food from the crops. Gotta think long term here." He played with the rat in his hands for a bit as he spoke.

"Sorry, I know you said you were gunna take notes b-but do you have to watch me do it? It's a bit embarrassing" his face flushed slightly and continued playing with the mouse.

(sorry I was replying and making a sandwich qvq lolol)

(That's cool! I am eating something I ordered, so I will be eatin that before I reply. I'm just glad I'm not alone! ^0^)

Luxia nodded in response to Mako.

"To be honest, war within it of itself damages more than just the soldiers involved. An example would be Iclios and Erul. Back during the War of Expansion. Both country fought one another. The effect equaled economical collapse for one, and depression of the other. So the effects on the civilian populace is evident even In standard warfare. Since if there are shortages of trained soldiers, people will be drafted via command of the ruler of said country. And war itself drains materials and money from it people. So I find the well being of the civilians are already in danger, and thus should not be a worry in the first place. And as for the effects on the surrounding countries that may or may not be involved in the combat.....That is one problem I have....So I will have to work on a proper poison that effects specifically these things....Maybe even a disease....Eh! That is another matter entirely."

Smiling in an amused way, Luxia raised an eyebrow as she spoke.

"Come now Mako. Its not like I am giving you a full physical exam. I am just asking for a demonstration of one of your natural abilities. Only Talcot was willing to submit himself to a full physical exam. But I had to....Tell him he had contracted something I cultured in my lab....Anyways! Lets get to the experiment. Just bite the rat so I may see its reaction to the venom! It should not be that embarrassing. We ate animals over the fire when we all went camping. I saw you eat. So this should be no different."

Mako shrugged slightly "ah you're right as usual. I dunno-- besides it's not really important right now to think about it. "

"Disease?? J-Just don't create a black plague okay?? And don't direct your wrath towards Iclios " he laughed nervously. The rat squeaked slightly.
Makos face flushed more and turned his gaze away from her "W-well that was when we were kids! B-besides that my fangs only came in when I was older so you haven't seen them!" His ears folded slightly "..." He sighed "ahhh fineee-- fine" he seemed some what pouty. He held the rat in a way that only showed it's belly. Mako's eyes slit once again and he struck down on the rat with his teeth. The rat squeaked loudly and it's blood stained makos mouth. He snapped out of his animalistic trance and unhindged his mouth from the rat. Already his poisonous venom was taking effect dissolving the rats flesh slowly around the area of the bite. Mako looked away as he wiped his mouth off with the back of his hand "I wouldn't touch it. It'll burn you..."

Luxia smiled teasingly at Mako. She liked seeing people on edge or nervous.

"Are you sure its not important? I find the subject of courtship very intriguing. another thing that intrigues me is why you told me about this?.......Oh well, I am sure there is an explanation for that. You are right anyway, we must continue the experiment. And do not worry about me creating a plague. I would like to resort to that only in the most dire of needs. Furthermore, I think Iclios has had enough wars already. And thus unlikely to begin one."

Luxia chuckled audibly as she saw Mako bluster. She took a tad bit of childish enjoyment out of his reaction.

"Their just fangs. No different than ones molars or canines. Lets just get this over with."

Watching the effects of the Venom, Luxia jotted down info into her notebook. Her handwriting speed was ridiculous. One would have trouble matching the speed.

"Mmmm....Good....Good.....I see its potency is very high!"

Luxia was already retrieving a pair of thick, ebon gloves from the table beside her. She pulled them over her hands as she approached Mako, reaching for the rat.

"I got that covered. These are the gloves I use when doing metallurgy. They protect me from the blaze of the kiln."

Mako licked his hand cleaning the blood off of it. "I dunno, talcot knows so I thought you'd like to know. You and talcot are my best friend's so-" he averted his eyes a bit. "With regards to Iclios it's my home so that's why I said don't send your scientific wrath there* he laughed "not so much because of war."

"Still embarrassing nonetheless.. ahh" he hesitantly handed the rat to her the stomach part of the rat was reduced greatly to a gross liquid due to the venom. "Ahh even so you should still be careful. It's one of a kind don't know What'll happen there.

"I see. Curiosity has been satiated. Ah yes. It is nice to see Iclios strengthening."

Luxia used the gloves to move aside some of the melted guts of the rat. Inspecting the damage the venom did to the rats organs. The acidic nature of the venom had reduced a majority of the rodent's flesh and organs to a pudding-like substance. With car, she placed the rat down unto a platter.

"Hmmm....Very potent! It is apparent that the venom is not weaker. I am theorize that it may actually be stronger.....After I write this down in my journal we will be able to move onto the Grand Finale Experiment."

Mako watched her poke and prod the very deceased rat. "W-what exactly is this grand finale experiment? It's nothing too bad I hope."

Luxia took her gloves off with care and started writing in her journal/Notebook at an alarming rate. Within a matter of moments she filled 2 pages with observations on the matter and several mathematical and chemical equations. With a big ' 'CLOP!' 'Luxia closed the book and set the writing utensil and book down.

"The Grand Finale Experiment is the testing of an anti-venom from afai compared to one I will be making from the rat test subject."

Luxia gestured to the corpse of the rat on the table.

"I will tell you the rest of the details once I finish distilling my antidote."

Mako looked at the rat that practically became a soup. "Ah ok I thought you were going to have me bite you so you could be a test subject or something. Glad that's not the case." He sighed out of relief. "Okay should I wait here orrr--"

Luxia started working on the antidote. Not replying to Mako as she did so. A huge grin on her face all the while.

Luxia pulled the vial of liquid off the burner and brought it to a small rack that would hold it. Beside the newly made antidote sat the older anti-venom. She grabbed two injection devices and fitted them with brand new, sanitized needles. She then filled one with the new antidote and one with the old. She smiled at Mako as she rolled up her right arm sleeve.

"Are you ready Mako? It is time to test the effectiveness of the antidotes."

"hm?-" Mako stared at her for a moment until he realized what she meant.

"W-wait! You don't mean for me to bite you do you??" His face flushed brightly "D-Do you not remember what happened to that pool over there that used to be a rat???" He shook his head immediately "nope nope nope"

Luxia stared back into Mako's eyes. A devious grin on her face. She knew he would object to the experiment. And that is what made the situation amusing to her.

"Correct."

"Indeed."

"Yes yes yes."

"You WILL bite me Mako. I must test the antidotes. But sadly, there are laws to using humans as test subjects for things this dangerous. So I have no choice but to test it on myself. Do you realize the lives this will save? The amount of medical potential this research has? The future of medicine now rests on your choice. Right here. Right now. I trust that my antidote will be sufficient. Do you trust me?"

Luxia stared at Mako with her serious, dead pan, soul shaking stare. The one that often made people uncomfortable.

Mako poker faced hard. He started to sweat. He knew she found this amusing how could she not.

His tail whipped around. "I WILL NOT bite you for one it's very scandalous for one your father will kill me. TWO I refer to the pool or rat once again" mako points to the pool of rat goop "and THREE it has nothing to do with trusting you- I don't trust myself enough and if it doesn't work imma have to tell my best friend's dad I killed his daughter and I rather not do that thank you." His tail fluffed up at this point.

Luxia wrinkled her nose and frowned at the response. She had been anticipating him to react positively to her appeal to humanity.

"Listen. For one, No one will know you bit me. For Two, I do not see how biting someone is scandalous. Maybe violent, but not scandalous........Eh.... But that is beside the point! The point is that science is more important than everything! I will not die. No one will find out. And the world will be significantly safer. My antidote is fool-proof! I went over the formula in my head over and over and over and over and over and over and....over.....and...over...over...over..over aaaaaand over. I know the numbers better than I know my own father."

Luxia continued to stare at Mako. Her eyes still intense from earlier.

"I can do this. No.....We can do this. The antidote must be tested!"

Mako crossed his arms and his eyes slit once again he had to be stern despite his rather laid back personality. "Prima I will not bite you. Numbers and scientific judgement or not. I won't do it.* His tail whipped around. "Im all up for biting rats to your heart's content but as you saw my venom acts on impact no matter how fast you put in the antidote it's still going to damage you. So no." He rather not have her stare holes into his skull so he left her lab quite in a huff.

Luxia grabbed her antidote injector and stormed outside after Mako. She was now annoyed. She had planned the entire day out and now it was being derailed. She ran up beside Mako.

"Hey! Hey!....Wait up! Mako, I will inject this antidote into the area you bite prior to you biting it. I do not want to scour the land for another cat-snake hybrid to bite me. I wanted someone I could trust. I need your help. Is there any way I can convince you I can do this?"

Mako pinched the bridge of his brow in irritation he scowled slightly. Then he thought of a way out knowing it was something she wouldn't do. Mako crossed his arms and looked at her dead in the eye "Fine. On one condition. You must tell your father first."

Mako felt like he won though he wasn't sure just yet since she hasn't given him a response quite yet.

Luxia paused. Scarier words had never been uttered. At least, to her. Her mind started racing, She had to think of something.

"Fine. I shall go speak to him. Here. Take the antidote back to the lab and wait there for me. I will be right back. I must make an impromptu meeting with father."

Luxia handed Mako the antidote syringe and started toward the castle. She looked a bit dejected and a apprehensive. But she continued anyway.

Mako stared sternly at her even more so "hey I wasn't finished. Those may be my terms but so I know you aren't gunna weasel out of it you have to get talcot to go with you, I'd go but I rather not have my head cut off."
He held the antidote syringe in his hands and stared at it before doing what she asked and taking the antidote to the lab.

(lol same here tis why I tend to keep them short to avoid that qvq)

Luxia paused in her stride, a pained expression over her face.

"......W-well....I see the logic in that....But......I hardly think its necessary....I mean....well....."

"....."

"......Fine......"

Luxia started to walk off toward the castle. She knew Lumen would not allow something so rash and self destructive

Talcot was walking from the middle court in the hall. Currently he was looking for Luxia, Mako has filled him in on the situation and wasn't going to miss this for the world.

Luxia was pacing outside Lumen's bedroom door. She was trying to think of any possible way to convince her father to agree to the experiment. At the same time, she was also working up the courage to broach the subject to her father. As she paced silently to herself, she thought on the matter: "There seems to be absolutely no chance of father's agreement to my revolutionary experiment. Even though the probable outcome of this request is failure, I can not just simply give up when I am so close to the solution of so many other life-ailing problems!......."

Luxia had a stoic expression thrown up on her face like a mask to conceal her unrest and reluctance. The only ones who could tell whether or not she was upset would be her family and possible Talcot or Akara. Since the king and his son seemed to have an uncanny way with reading people.

Talcot had spotted Luxia pacing outside her father's door. He waved her down and had a small smile on his face. "So what pray tell did you get yourself into this time Lux?" He laughed slightly fully knowing what she is trying to do.

"Mmm you're upset aren't you. Your eye brow is doing that twitch thing when ever you're deep in thought or you're upset." He stretched "well no time better than the present don't you think why don't we just knock and go from there?" Talcot was about to knock on Lumens door.

Luxia turned her head to see the familiar face of Talcot. She swept some hair away from her face as she raised her head up from the pensive hunch she was pacing with.

"This deplorable dilemma is the cause of my current mental malaise....."

Luxia straightened her dress and adjusted her pigtails and spruced up her entire appearance. After doing so, she took a deep breath and spoke. A determine look on her face.

"Yes.....Its best not to waste valuable time. The present is a precious commodity."

Talcot proceeded to knock on Lumens door. "Excuse me Mr.Candeo could I trouble you with a conversation?" He said from behind the door hoping Lumen would hear him and pause his busy work to talk with them.
Without looking at Luxia Talcot began speaking quieter "This 'dilemma' you speak of wouldn't be a problem if you learned how to read people better. You're very smart Lux but in certain situations you're very naive. I'm not going to go into much detail with it so I'll leave it at that. Now we wait to see if your father will even come to the door" Talcot smiled lightly.

Lumen heard Talcot's voice through the door. He lowered the pen and book in his hands and stood from his chair. He was delighted to have someone to talk to. He had been writing in the book for hours. With the same gleeful politeness in his voice, he replied to Talcot.

"Ah, Talcot. Please let me get the door for you. I would be delighted to hear what you have to say."

Luxia turned to Talcot and shed him a withering stare.
"Thank you for the inspiring words. I will be sure to thank you dearly for those later with another physical exam."

The door opened to reveal Lumen in full servants robes. His eyes calm and his smile warm and friendly. Just slightly modeled with newly formed, barely visible wrinkles.

"Greetings Talcot. And greetings to Luxia. What brings you two here?"

Lumen raised an inquisitive eyebrow at the two of them.

"Ah I might have said something under false pretenses, for I'm just here to make sure Luxia does what she said she was going to do. For she has something to discuss with you sir. Andddd might I add I have no part in the thing she's about to say." He gave a sheepish smile and stood to the side for Luxia to take the stage so to say.

Lumen fetched two padded stools and set them up for his guests. He raised an eyebrow at the statement and sat down in his own chair. He looked at the two and smiled.

"Oh? Is that so Talcot?......Please do take a seat then. Let me guess, Luxia has a rather tedious and potentially dangerous experiment she wishes to try. Is this correct?..."

Luxia sat in the stool offered by her father. The silence growing in the room. She spoke slowly with etiquette in mind.

"Well father...."

Luxia hesitated to speak more. A bit nervous to continue.

Talcot took a seat on the stool Lumen offered. "Y-yes sir though more dangerous." He twiddled his thumbs as he knew Mako told him not to interfere but he also didn't want to get in trouble by being the messenger. He noticed how nervously Luxia was and he sighed slightly. "....." He couldn't take it any more- "I think it'd be easier if I gave you a light summary of why we're here." He took a deep breath and started speaking quickly as he gave a quick explanation "So Mako our friend who is a mix between a cat and a snake hybrid, told me that Luxia wanted to conduct experiments using his venom. He was all up for it because he was under the influence that he was going to just bite rats and she was going to study the dead rats. Anyways, Mako bit a rat and it practically disolved into this gross goop and Luxia here wants to reverse engineer his venom to make an anti-venom to it. Long story short she has an anti-venom thing but to test it out she needs a test subject. Long story shorttt Mako told her no that he wasn't going to bite her, to poison her, because its very dangerous andddd the side effects are forever. And now we're here because Mako thought you could explain to her that, I quote this by the way words from him, 'This stupid experiment is too dangerous' " Talcot heaved from the lack of oxygen as he gave his summary. He held up a finger as a signal to give him a second as he caught his breath "haaa.. Which brings us here.. and I'm here because .. Mako didn't want you to destroy him.. haaa" Talcot hunched over in the stool.

(pffff XD Talcot)

Lumen tilted his head in thought for a moment as he digested what he just heard. He glanced between Talcot and Luxia. He then put his hands together and nodded twice to himself. Where as Luxia sat with a dead pan stare at her father. She adjusted in her seat before speaking. Breaking the silence in the room before it grew to a gargantuan size.

"What Talcot says is true father. Surely you must understand my reasoning. This antidote could save so many lives. And to pass up this opportunity to help humanity would be a lack of humanity in the simplest of words."

Lumen closed his eyes and thought on the matter. His facial expression was serious, but not mean.

"Luxia, are you confident that this antidote will fight the venom?"

Luxia stayed silent as she nodded yes.

Lumen then stood up from his chair slowly. Straightening his robes as he did so.

"Well then let us go see this antidote. We have some work to do."
Luxia stared with surprise hidden underneath her emotionless expression as Lumen slowly walked out the exit of his room.

(Lumen has a plan xD)

Talcot sat there dumb founded as he looked at Lumen leave the room. He got up quickly and followed behind Lumen before returning back to his room and peaking his head through the door way. "Well don't just sit there common" he motioned Luxia to follow and he jogged to keep up with Lumen.

Luxia saw Talcot motion for her to follow. She did so, gracefully straightening her robes and following them out.

"I-I am coming...."

(Quick time jump to the Lab)

Once again, the beautiful landscape of the gardens and all the sounds that the nature living in it returned. Lumen was several strides ahead of Luxia and Talcot. And he made it to the Laboratory first. Where Mako was waiting. Lumen was surprisingly hard to keep up with even at his age. His strides were long and graceful. They seemed to glide over the grass as they made little noise. He opened the door to the lab slowly as he stared at the vast assortment of experimental beakers. He stared at Mako. His stare was serious and full of fatherly anger. Or so to the untrained eye. He was in reality trying to get a reaction from Mako. Like how him and Prima used to get reactions out of others for their own amusement.

(I have no clue xD But yes, poor Mako >3<)

Mako was playing with Luxias rats in their cage. He didn't really notice Lumen come in until he felt the death glare on his back. He quickly turned around and his ears lowered "Ahhhh Mr.C-Candeo s-sir I um-! I didn't got through w-with it I swear! Ahhh" his tail whipped around nervously.

Talcot was with Luxia "How does your dad move so fast even at his age???" He finally got to the lab and hunched over "I--.. need to go-- back to train some more-- haaa I'm outta shape" he pouts lightly.

(Now the question is should the antidote work or no? <v< shall luxia calculations be wrong or correct pfff)

(Well, I would like to know what you want. It is your characters Venom ^0^ But I am always in favor of Lumen's arm not getting jelly-melted xD)

(I would think it'd be cool if Luxia got it wrong but it semi works so his arm doesn't jelly-melted but he'd get sick pfff)

Lumen stared at Mako with his shivering glare as he approached him slowly. His strides long and calculating. His left arm extended out to Mako slowly. It got closer, and closer. Until his hand rested on Mako's shoulder. He smiled warmly as he bowed his head to Mako.

"You did the right thing. In truth, I am particularly impressed that you managed to refuse a ' ' Request ' ' from her. She is quite.....Ambitious."

Luxia caught up to Talcot and stayed at his running pace.

"He still does his 4 hour morning workout routine. I would know. I do the workouts with him. And take my word that he never misses a day. Even when he is sick....."

They both reached the lab in decent time. They could see the silhouettes of Lumen and Mako in the small structure as they approached the door.

"You could join me and him. We wake at 3 in the morning to start calisthenics. Followed by many other routines."

(We could do that ^0^ It meets half way! :D Furthermore, I think it would be funny for Lumen to come down sick. And it would really be like old times. Since Lumen would test stuff Luxia would make back when she was younger and first starting her experiments! >3<)

(Now I would love to continue, but I getting sleeping. Would you like to continue this on Wednesday or Friday? Around the same time? I just gotta see the experiment go crazy xD)

Mako let out a sigh of relief to see Lumen wasn't mad at him. "Ahh w-well I mean.. i-it was really hard" Mako held his head down in defeat. "S-SO! " He coughed slightly "So, sir did you talk to her?..."
Talcot stood in the door way unable to hear their conversation "Should we interviewed?? Mako looks like he's really stressed" Talcot started sweating bullets as he watched nervously at his friend.

Luxia shook her head emphatically as she waved her arms in the air.

"YES! We must intervene so that we may figure out what exactly father intends to do to my lab!.......Oh and make sure Mako's okay."

Lumen chuckled audibly in response to Mako. He withdrew his hand from Mako's shoulder and stepped backward.

"I am sure it was.....Hmmm? Oh yes, she came to talk to talk to me. But Talcot in the end did all the talking."

Mako nodded "Ah Talcot does get a bit ansty sometimes." He laughed a bit. Just then Talcot comes into the lab where Lumen and Mako are "Sooooooo!" He clapped his hands together "What are we doing now?" He had an awkward smile on his face.

Luxia followed Talcot in, her gaze pointed down at her feet in nervousness of the situation. She had not had Lumen in her lab since the time when she tried to test a new kind of mouthwash. Which resulted in the loss of his voice for 3 days and a severe stomach ache.

"Y-eah.... And why are you here?....What are you going to do?..."

Lumen nodded to Mako as he searched the lab for the antidote. He presumed it would look different from the rest. Eventually he spotted the injection device.

"A trait I have had evident in many situations in my life."

Turning around slowly, Lumen saw Talcot and Luxia enter.

"Oh, decided to tag along after all Talcot? I was wondering if you were going to join us. What are we going to do? Why am I here? Well, I will be the test subject for Luxia's antidote. It is so no one else is at risk of dying from the fast acting, and may I add, deadly hybrid venom."

Mako had the face of dread once more *S-sir that's- pardon my language S-sir but that's being just as rash as Luxia was earlier. I'm trying to avoid biting anyone. W-would you like to see the rat puddle? It's still there though now it's really rancid after sitting for a while."
Talcot twiddled his thumbs a bit "Uhhmmm--" he didnt know what to say in this type of situation.

Luxia's eyes widened as she heard her father. She expected that maybe her father was going to shut down her experiment. But the revelation that he was there to be the test subject surprised her considerably. Especially since amongst some of her more successfully beneficial experiements, she has had a few dangerously disastrous results that were less than minor.

"I-it will be like old times......"

Lumen bowed his upper torso slightly in Mako's direction as he closed his eyes, a reassuring smile there to help ease matters.

"There is nothing wrong with speaking one's mind. It is a surprisingly rare quality. And yes, you are correct Mako. This is extremely rash. But I have lived my life to a fair age. Accomplished all that I have wanted: Steady Employment. Marriage and lastly......A family. Luxia is absolutely sure her concoction will be effective. I trust her judgement on this matter......Furthermore...As hard as it was for you to refuse Luxia, it is significantly harder for me as her father to refuse a request from her. A fatal weakness yet virtue of being a parent."

"Ahhh why isn't anyone thinking about how I feel about this???" Mako's ears lowered and he turned away from them. "I never should of came here- - " he crossed his arms and his tail whipped around you could tell he was quite perturbed about all of this.
Talcot went up to Mako and patted him on the back. "Heyy

(dang it it sent before I was done XD)

"Heyy there.. it'll be okay.." Talcot pursed his lips lightly trying to thing of a solution.

(Hate it when that happens :-; I have had that happen to me WAY to often. Its really annoying because I get all self conscious about it >xp)

Lumen turned to face Mako. Lumen understood how Mako felt. Even though Lumen had never been in a situation quite like this, he knew the strain of the situation would be extremely hard to cope with. Its very outcome could either save lives or end one.

"I know how you feel. You are in a situation to where your next action could kill me. You are kindhearted and compassionate. I see all this in you. I also see a man of his word. And was there not an agreement between you and Luxia earlier concerning this matter?"

"That's the point I'd rather not have a royal advisors blood on my hands why don't you two understand that??? And besides she didn't even hold up her side of the agreement. She didn't talk to you about it, Talcot did" he gestured to Talcot who was currently holding up his hands up in defense "W-well I mean..--- yeaaaaaaaa,---" Talcot scratched the back of his head.
This was going no where, Mako couldnt just leave either, he's suppose to stay there with Talcot until the next boat to Iclios. He would be hounded about the matter by Luxia and now her Father. He was more stressed out than usual and his eyes dialated looking more snake like. "You guys are awful..." Mako mumbled to himself, he felt dizzy and his tail whipped around more. "Fine..." He finally huffed out

Lumen stood there with his arms behind his back deep in thought. "Hmmmm..."

Luxia was still silent. Her pigtails sagging unhappily at her sides as she swayed back and forth on her heels in nervousness. She opened her eyes at what Mako said and went to speak but to slow as Lumen As Lumen raised a hand in response to Mako. His face showed much anguish at Mako's inclusion of ' 'Awful.' ' He just wanted to settle the matter so that the three youths could enjoy the remainder of Mako's visit. And the fact that the technicality brought up by Mako was moot in point. Since either way, whether Luxia or Talcot informed him, it would still be the same.
"Enough. You as a person have the right to refuse. But let us not start speaking out of tact. It is no good that the situation has brought you to say things that may not be fair to certain parties involved. Say?.....Talcot, who you rashly dragged into the situation by having him as an escort to ensure Luxia came to me and spoke. So it is extremely impolite to call him awful. Furthermore, my intervention was to preserve my own daughter's well being. And I hate making anyone upset. That does not just mean my daughter, that also includes you and Talcot and anyone else I meet."

Lumen started slowly to the door. His feet making little sound as he did so. He stayed at the exit of the lab as he spoke once more

"And since this has snowballed out of control and caused you to say unfair things to Talcot. I feel the best way to conclude this is by extricating myself from the equation."

"Ahh don't think he was talking about me S-sir---" Talcot felt the atmosphere in the lab tense up even more and he held his tongue before speaking anymore.
Mako didn't want this. He didnt want any of this, he never asked to be like this where he was the deciding factor of whether or not a cure could be made or the death of his friend or her dad. He felt sick to his stomach as it turned with his uneasiness. "Luxia will be sad if I don't do this..." His ears lowered "Or worse... And I said it was fine... So please can we just get it over with?.. and not have things just stay like this?.." he was implying the growing tension between everyone.
(Mako is just conflicted uvu and it doesn't help that he's very self conscious and doesn't trust himself about the whole thing)

(And Lumen is upset that the situation is getting emotional >3<)

Luxia looked up occasionally from her nervousness. It was extremely hard for her to function when her father was around. This was a result of her wanting to impress her father consistently and to never upset him. And she felt that she had very early on set an expectation level for herself that should always be matched or exceeded. It was true that she would be aggravated Mako for awhile after refusing, but she would eventually forgive him. And in the past she had gotten angry with Talcot and Mako before. But in the end, she found it hard to stay angry at them. Their compassionate and friendly natures were just the right thing to disarm her angry feelings.

"W-well....Yes...b-but..."

Looking over his shoulder, Lumen stared at the room. Examining the inhabitants.

"I doubt this would tear a rift between you three. The friendship you all have is remarkably strong. This would only hinder it for a brief time. And by brief, I mean maybe 5 hours. And in truth, it was very uncouth for Luxia to spring this on you. She should have been considerate of your feelings."

(Wuuuuuugh! I hate to leave when the plot is thickening and the drama is getting juicy, but I am get very very sleepy! Could we maybe continue this on sunday or this coming Monday? )

Talcot stood there awkwardly. Not knowing if he should say anything or not. Talcot chose to stay quiet in fear he might make things worse.

Luxia's left eye twitched when she heard Mako speak. She was annoyed that she was being made out to be the bad guy. Although, at the same time, she felt remorse for starting such a ruckus and most importantly, upsetting Mako. She replied to him promptly.

"Harsh....But truthful. I......Am sorry........Too."

Lumen smiled to himself and nodded approvingly at Luxia's choice to apologize. And without further word, he left the laboratory. Thinking to himself as he left: "Those three are imponderable sometimes. Adorably imponderable. I can not wait to see what else transpires amongst them. And whether or not I will become involved again."

Talcot decided to speak up "S-so with that all settled why don't we go and get something to eat?" He clapped his hands together.
Makos tail stopped twitching "What kind of food?" He asked rather curiously. Mako wasn't gunna like he was a foodie at heart and no matter what sour mood he was in food immediately made him feel better.

Luxia was willing by this point to quit her current experiment. Food was sounding really good to her at that moment. The stress of having her father get involved must have made her burn calories via fretting.
