Also, Matey was Ukrainian-born yet he still plays professional soccer as a goalkeeper for FC Shakhtar Donetsk, while Aleksandar still plays for the NY Red Bulls' academy (now the Under-18s and he made some starts for the first squad).

Also...Veronika moved to Ukraine when she was growing up. She went to Ukraine's capital city and she met Matey while on a night out after a soccer game. He later moved to NY for a 3-year stint with the Red Bulls, before a limited move to Kiev while he was still a Free Agent, where they had Aleksandar. Soon, Matey enjoyed a second chance at NYRB and that's where Aleksandar was raised, fluent in Bulgarian and English.
