Female War horse are a little different than males, females are much smaller but quicker and more agile.
A male Royal use there familiar living Magic to become a war horse, they gain there Colossus size in heavy armor becomes of this, but there not able to call on there familiar when there a War horse, a female however manage this energy different they much smaller and lighter armor making them faster, they can also still call on there familiar to help them if they need but this take more of there energy in doing so.

Shifting:

Depending on if it's day or if there less then 10 moon the Royal going to feel it when they awaken to a War horse, the first sign of Awakening is growing a tail (2 for females) then it's there secondary wings (females get 6 ) after that the shift is quite fast but it's very unpleasant making them the second of my awaken the forms to have the most painfullest shifting ( Nightmare are first)
One the shift is complete the Royal will then feel a rush up power, they are able to use far more magic abilities and elements in this form then any other but it does take a toll then the Royal Comforts back to there normal forms
(Younger Royals who don't have much experience in Awakening can sometimes lose their since, do to the rush of power they get)

After Awakening side effects:

Weak, fatigued
Vomiting blood
Temporary paralysis or blindness
Eventually pass out

It usually takes a week to recover but those who are more use to it or get enough moon light it can be a few days

Red demons are a little different, even ones like Isaac who is calm and timid will lose control of themselves with the rush of power attacking anything that moves Friend or Foe...there chaos Magic is on a Rampage in this form and make it difficult for the Royal to stay in their right mind for long, if there in there right mind they can use Magic but they usually rely upon their brute strength if they lost there census, because of abnormal amount of chaos Magic in them a red Demon War horse will feel the need to feed off of other life and do to there Savage nature and there size they usually eat the individual ( making one like Isaac only awaken in dire situation and hope they don't make things worse)

After Awakening a red Demon will experience the same side as a normal Royal, except they need a red moon or another's life to recover. Red demons also recover much faster then a normal Vaseterm if they are under a blood moon
