JK on "life." I'll probably main Zard for a year, seeing as I've got a pattern going...
I mained Marth from Sm4sh's launch til a little while after Cloud released. After I played Cloud, I /loved/ him and how he felt to play, so I started maining him. I secondaried Zard for most of this time (well over a year), but later I switched Zard for Mewtwo as my secondary.
I mained Cloud for about a year, then took a four to five month break from Sm4sh. Didn't play Cloud much when I came back to Sm4sh, I instead went to Zard and started maining it. Went solo Zard for a good chunk of this year, but I picked Cloud back up as a secondary again a couple months ago.
I still play as Marth & Mewtwo sometimes, but Marth's hard for me to play now because of his floatiness. I'm too used to Zard & Cloud's faster fallspeeds/heavier feel. lol
Glad to know you guys liked it. And it's ok, I like hearing your stories. :]
Anyway, I played Final Fantasy VII as a smol lil' child of eight-years-old, so you could probably tell my reaction when he appeared for Smash.
I remember how shocked I was when his trailer came out. I immediately started maining him because he's my childhood favourite character since forever, and my childhood crush, haha! ^///^
I guess before that, I mained Link since my Melee days. Ocarina of Time was a really good game I liked as a kid. In this Smash, before Cloud, I was a heavy Villager, Ness/Lucas, and Link main.
I'm a very nostalgia-driven person, as you can see. ^-^;
I used to be a Captain Falcon and Link main (as those characters were the ones I played as the most in Brawl) until I realized I was just spamming CF's Standard B and Link's projectiles. Then, my pastor (you read that right) introduced me to the Metroid series. He played alot on the NES back in the 80's, and Metroid was his favorite.
I played the original and Zero Mission, and I was hooked. I decided to pick up ZSS by pure curiousity and she immediatly became my main, with Toon Link and Robin being secondaries.
Is the Metroid series fun? I've played Other M and that's about it for the Metroid series and me, but I'd love to play more.
From Nintendo, I've mainly liked the Zelda, Mario, and Animal Crossing series. I don't know if I should count Fire Emblem, because that's Intelligent Systems. Not really Nintendo.

Cloud looks like a great character. If I could get DLC I would purchase him first.
