If you want something back you should do art trades, not draw something for someone then expect something back, it's not a gift if you expect something in return. Gifts are something you give because you want to make the other person happy, and if seeing someone else happy doesn't make you happy, then...

You should just draw what you want to draw instead, like your own characters or things you like. enjoy yourself doing what you want, if your doing something just to recieve something from someone else, then you shouldn't be doing it. You'll just end up getting depressed over nothing.

I haven't recieved a christmas present in the last several years now, so i have no idea if thats even a common thing to do or not.

Aren't you looking at it the wrong way? people hang out and get close to others because they like and want their company, not to recieve things from them. they aren't gift dispencers, their living people.

When you get close to someone, (Which takes time & a hella a lot of effort) then maybe that person might want to do something for you because they love when your around, or they miss you.

It's not about what you don't have, it's about what you do, your depressed and in the negative a lot, and i know it's hard but you have to start looking at the good things in life to. The things that YOU have, not the things you don't, happiness isn't about what you get but how you percieve the world around you.

What of the fact that you have the opportunity to even talk to these people at all? to have the chance to become close to them? aren't you happy to have that chance, to have the option of being able to meet them?

I know it's imposissble to change your outlook on things in a day, but try, please try to look at things more happier, because if you base everything on the negative part of it, then thats the only part you will see.

Why not befriend someone who's not an artist, someone who likely has no friends and the only thing they can give you is words of encouragment.

Really it seems like the best option would be to find new, or actual friends, i don't mean to put anyone down, but i guess you need to find different people, you made one friend, so your getting somewhere.
