Backstory Stuff:
Before coming to The Kingdom of Saerith Rune lived in another realm entirely. Originally being chased down in his world not only for his hair and eye colors being looked at extremely negatively, but also having access to magic. Rune was never safe in his homeland, and was always on the run by either bounty hunters or townsfolk who didn't want him bringing trouble. Eventually finding residence in a secluded village far from civilization of the mainland he found himself taken in by one of the families there. Quickly becoming friends with their daughter Rune had started becoming happy again. 2 years later however, a group of bandits had been stationed nearby and one of the members had recognized Rune as being wanted. Not one to back down from a bounty he informed his group, and they planned to attack later that night. Rune and his first ever friend had snuck off around dinner time that night to play at a secret spring in the forest that no one in the village knew about. It was the two's hideaway, and they spent much of their time together there. However, after they'd been playing for a bit, Rune and his friend noticed Smoke above the village. Rushing back the 2 came across the entire village being burned to the ground; many of the villagers already dead on the ground with bandits raiding the place. Rune noticed his friend had left his side, and rushed blindly towards one of the bandits. They had killed her mother, and were about to kill her father as well before she'd rushed out. The bandit noticed Rune behind the girl rushing towards him, and decided he no longer had need for any of the villagers to remain alive as they'd found their target. Shooting the father, and then killing Rune's friend the bandit dropped their bodies to the ground, before turning to walk towards Rune. However, seeing all of this Rune had snapped, and unleashed a wave of magic that summoned lightning to strike down every person other than Rune in the village still standing. After this spell Rune collapsed exhausted, and realized that while he'd saved himself; his friend and the villagers were already gone. Screaming in sorrow Rune cast one final spell before passing out. Encasing his friend's family and himself in a layer of Ice. Once this had happened Rune's thoughts moved inside of his mind. Giving up on this planet realizing that even once he'd gotten happiness it would just be ripped away from him. Thinking that he never wanted to be on that rock anymore caused him to tap into both aspects of his magic. Freezing himself, and his friend's family while also accelerating them so fast that they moved to an entirely new world.

After 1 year Rune's spell ran out, and he thawed out. However, his friend's family remained in the Ice. Looking around confused Rune was met with a woman with long blue hair, obsidian horns, purple eyes, and 2 dark black wings. She looked down at him, and patted his head. Reading his mind she'd figured out everything that was going on. Rune however was still completely confused. He looked over at the 3 people frozen in Ice, and then back to the woman before asking where he was, and what was going on. The woman replied with "My name is Skaia, and I'm afraid explaining everything to you won't do you any good." Rune being even more confused with this just stared at her. She finished preparing whatever she'd been working on, and came back to Rune. Skaia opened her hand as if signaling for Rune's to be placed in it. As he did as she was signaling a symbol of a snowflake appeared on the back of the left hand. Rune looking at this in shock stared mouth agape at Skaia. Skaia simply explained that he wasn't from the world he was currently in, and that she'd just made a pact with him. Skaia went on to say that Rune had the ability to travel between dimensions, and to different worlds; however his memories of previous worlds would be suppressed unless he returned to them. She told him that she'd read his mind without the memory suppression and acted accordingly. Rune rubbed his head wondering what she was going on about, and then she'd pointed to the people frozen in the other room. Skaia stated that the symbol on his hand was a contract to have the 3 remain locked in there state right before death until Rune was strong enough to revive them, and take them back home. However Rune's part in the contract that every year she would sap some of his magical essence, and only after the 13th time would she finally summon him back to her dimension. And with that she forcefully warped him to a new world. The Kingdom of Saerith,

After being teleported once more Rune fell onto the pavement of a street in the middle of Cobal. Seconds after he started regaining consciousness a black and gold book fell on top of his head. As this happened the citizens around him broke out into a panic calling for the guards. Confused once more Rune picked up the book, and looked around; realizing that guards had started running towards him weapons drawn. Rune not one to want to get into a fight quickly ran down the only path the guards weren't coming from. After rushing for what seemed like hours Rune managed to get out of the City. Somehow feeling familiar with this situation Rune instinctively ran towards a set of mountains off in the distance.

After about 5 days travel Rune arrived at Dragon's Creek. However, he was completely unaware of anything going on in this world, and was focused only on making it to safety from any would be pursuers. Knowing full well that his face was likely already plastered on wanted posters. He made his way into a valley that had a large river gently flowing through it. Looking ahead he saw a large rock spire shaped like a beast's head spewing out a waterfall that seemed to be the river's source. Rune ran towards this spire as he figured it'd be an excellent spot to hide out for a while. After a few hours Rune got to where the water was falling, but couldn't figure out how to climb up to the top of the waterfall, and so looked around. Night was fast approaching, and so out of options he huddled up against the rock wall next to the waterfall. After sitting down a few moments Rune noticed that there was a small cavern hidden behind the water. Swimming over to it proved to be rather easy. The current was calm behind the waterfall. Heading into the cave Rune saw that there was a hole in the ceiling of the giant spire. Gently letting light in down from the setting sun into the middle of the cavern. Walking further into the Cavern Rune came across an egg. It seemed to be resting in the warmth of the light. Not really worried about it Rune layed down and fell asleep below the egg. The next morning Rune got up, and realized there was something warm and heavy on his lap. He looked down to see a blue lizard with wings, and horns. Snapping out of his drowsy state Rune realized the egg must've hatched last night after he'd stayed there, and now this baby must think that it's Rune's child! The baby rolled over, and looked into Rune's eyes. They sparkled like snowflakes, and calmed him down. Rune decided to stay with the little one, and named her Merry. However, he realized that whatever left this egg here probably wouldn't be too happy finding him here; thinking he was a poacher or something so Rune ran off with Merry down the valley. Coming back the opposite way he came from he stopped at the edge of the river's rocky mouth and noticed a large mansion off in the distance to his left. Figuring that it was likely safer than returning to the city he had been in, and planning to scope out the place first; Rune headed towards it, and set up camp just outside of what he would soon discover; was the Library.

Alright so that's all the backstory stuff :v
Rune doesn't really know his age or family anymore.
He only knows what his body remembers. Also; I sure wonder what's inside that book :y I never got around to telling anyone that now did I? Guess it'll remain secret for now.
