Dark magic is banned entirely in the kingdom of saerith, using it could lead to imprisonment or much worse.

Dark magic origins are very iffy, sense they originated from another world entirely.

"Demons" That is what the beings whom more than a millennium ago brought dark magic to this world were called, demon was a shortened version of the word dimension, because they had appeared from another world, thats what they were called. All of them having purple eye's.
Many people were afraid of them, for they could do things that were thought to at first be impossible with their various magics, they were feared to the point of being hunted like game. and people born with purple eye's are said to be evil, or bad omens.

Purple eye's had not been a thing until 'demons' appeared, so it is said that those with them likely have ancestry to the demons.

People with purple eye's tended to have dark magical abilities. (Not all of them tho) so like most dark mancers, they were captured or hunted. Or depending on the town/village, killed.

i'm sure i missed a lot of stuff, but i'm running low on time and gotta get going, i'll likely eventually rewrite this betterer.
