Asterion wasn't always like this, however. For the longest time, he looked after his widowed mother and younger sister, Amariel. His life changed when he returned from hunting one day to find his mother wounded and his sister gone, captured by humans. After his mother died of grief, Asterion left his home in the tundra to find Amariel, fueled by an intense hatred for humanity.

It isn't known just how Asterion came to be corrupted, however he seems to dislike mentioning the event, and swears it doesn't affect his mind. Despite knowing the advantages to having a humanoid form, Asterion absolutely refuses to master the magic needed to gain one, despising even the idea of a dragon taking on the form of a human.

This icy tyrant spends most of his time traveling from continent to continent, preferring to stay there until he's certain he hasn't misded any clues to his sister's location, however he does have a place he calls home, a vast expanse of ice and snow floating amid a freezing ocean, with tunnels even leading underwater.

To other dragons, Asterion is cold, even cruel sometimes, depending on whether or not he thinks he/she is useful to him, however, he doesn't outright threaten them. Humans, he refuses to speak with, unless he thinks they know something he doesn't, which ends with Asterion kidnapping and even torturing the person.

Should he ever find Amariel, it may not be the happy reunion he anticipates...
