Other faces are one of the four species pools in the alt. dimension: innterlot.
Some faces melt off (but form together quickly after), hundreds open to a new face (like akku), most faces are split in two, some (like marquavian) just have an extra (independent) mouth, many have conjoined faces, some even have multiple heads, and some can have heads/faces on differing parts of their body!

In some accidents, it's possible the host could lose its other/main face (like simon), leaving just one.

It depends on the type, but there are signs of when the host is about to show their second face. (face begins to drip, colors fade, face cracks, etc)

The darker-colored parts in this picture are the main face/body. The white is its other.

Typically, the other face is scary and weird, as it was used to scare and defend itself against predators before they eventually evolved into bipeds.

It's very uncommon for a quadrupedal creature to have an oter face, as the trait was only adapted by bipeds (they evolved that way)
